  • June 1 - 4, 2023. This was the best TTRPG Con I've ever attended. If you haven't been to NTRPG Con, you need to fix that problem.
Kelsey Dionne was good enough to answer a few questions for me, and that interview is included in this video/slideshow. Enjoy.

Kelsey is a true champion of the OSR. #Shadowdark is an amazing RPG. Everyone needs to try it out.

    WTF is OSR?

Old School Revival. There are dozens of OSR games on the market, including Old School Essentials, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Basic Fantasy, Swords & Wizardry, Hyperborea, etc. Most of these attempt to clone or recreate the feeling of earlier versions of D&D, though a few go their own way (DCC starts with the Appendix N references in the 1e DMG and builds out from there, taking the very core mechanics of D&D and adding some newer stuff, and a lot of it is also derived from 3.5). What Kelsie did in Shadowdark was use 5e as the base, scuttle all of the bloat in that system, and replace it with some cool OSR stuff.
