Nice Artisan demo video. I try to connect the roast manual mockup equipment with Artisan software with modbus potocol and read/write data form thermal gauage, fan, heater and so on.

Thank-you for that demonstration...was that Artisan software you were using?
I am wondering if the tablet is suffucient for roasting or would I be dissatisfied with that. Thanks!

The tablet is totally sufficient but I think folk like the option of Artisan as it's widely used with lots of brands of roasters so has become the industry standard.

Yeah the tablet is great...... easier to use than Artisan for simple roasts. Artisan is good if you're wanting get more customised.

    Great video!
I have a question: Once you have a roast curve perfected and saved, can artisan replicate it? I.e. tell the roaster what to do and run the curve automatically?

Yeah sure.... you can follow a curve you've created or use one som one else has provided and it will auto roast.

Yup you can follow a curve and automate the process.

Yeah that's pretty standard. Pro coffee roasters say you should be aiming for a development time of approx 20-25% so this was bob on at 21%.

How was the coffee taste? The ROR was flick and crash along the start to the end of roasting.

Coffee tasted good. ROR was always above 11/12. No crash.

To be honest even my worst roasts have been better than the bulk of ‘professionally’ roasted coffee. I’m still learning a lot. Definitely not a pro.
