    Oh thank god finally someone gets it stop using expert terms to explain expert terms we don’t understand I’ve watched hours of videos on what it means to engage your core because I’ve been working out for months with no results and couldn’t understand why I kept hearing I’m not engaging my core so I researched what that meant but all the videos failed because of how they explain at the end I’m still just as confused as I was to start glade this video he uses terms or examples we can understand ...thank you so much just two weeks after watching this and it’s a major difference

    This is my 8th video on how to engage my core.....and I'm still as confused as before. Now a little more annoyed, as that's another 6 minutes of my life I will never get back.

      @arrys2631 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Khalirex nope, I kinda gave up. I may try it again at some point in the future. I think doing the 'plank' exercise forces an engagement automatically, but I could be totally wrong.

    How will this work when you have had a neck injury?

    • @OhhKikka
      @OhhKikka 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Leaonda Clarke there are various modifications. You can keep your head down and still engage your core. Or, lift up higher, using more abs helps to get it out of your neck. Once I learned that my Pilates practice soared. Before that, my neck was a constant problem. Eventually with increased fitness my neck got healthier too.

    This works well for me, but why does everyone say to suck in your belly button?

    • @milluh
      @milluh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it activates the deeper abdominal muscles.

    • @milluh
      @milluh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      But I agree, his way of explaining is way better than just saying pull belly to spine. Unfortunately, when people are new to Pilates they usually have sleepy abs and this technique may not work for everyone. Usually when teaching I find explaining the same thing in different ways helps everyone. Love your profile pic!

      Nawww it's REALLY BULLSHIT! just a bunch of fucking Senseless annoying Overcomplicated Mumbo Jumbo to sell his profession.
      It's like a car salesman saying this car comes can with a advanced cooling Heat combating Air Processor.
      You be like Wowwww! What's that?
      Someone nudges you with their elbow a few seconds later and say
      That's a Air conditioner buddy SMH
      Does engaging your core the way he saying it sounds natural??? No it's technical and not in sync with a natural damn feeling while you are moving about, exercising...it makes NO SENSE!
      Your body would not require you to feel like you doing a damn science project to do natural movements
      I heard much simpler instructions on how to do it
