- I am installing a grid-tie solar system on one of my homes and I am using Hoymiles microinverters for a grid-tie solar system. Hoymiles equipment makes it easy to install and hook up. I am using 2 4in1 microinverters and a 2in1 micro inverter to hook up 10 solar panels to reduce my electric bill.

Finaly someone who gives me information on a simple system .thxxx ia that a ephase microinverter
No problem hope it helps with your build. I have 3 separate grid tie solar systems growatt grid tie and Hoymiles.com micro inverters.
Awesome set-up and video. I'm still string with no plans to change. Santan solar used panels for me was the best way to get up and running. I look at string as potatoes and microinverters as rice. They will both fill you up. The only real difference is cost. Keep making great videos.
Good stuff!
Awsome video. I believe there is an option with a smart meter to do zero grid feedback.
just a question do i need any other equipement to tie them to the grid?
The bipass diodes in each panel will bypass the shaded panels. I have enphase latest micros and I get what you are saying but it's not true that the whole string goes down or is badly affected if you have a string inverter. Don't get me wrong I love the benefits of micro inverters but panels have got smarter now. Half panels and bypass diodes in the panels can make a string act like a micro inverter system. The true down side to a string is if the string inverter goes bad and then yes your whole system is down until it is changed out and you are paying grid pricing again........ So I prefer micros for my setup for the reduncdancy of each micro and that you can see each micro/panel output and if it is working or not. Also I think that Hoymiles have stolen the lead in micro inverters from Enphase with the 4 to one hookup and the higher output 400w per single unit and up. Looks like you will have a great system with only 3 inverters for 10 panels. I would need 10 enphase at much more cost to me. Way to go Hoymiles.
is there any affiliate link where i can buy this hoymiles micro inverters?
What is best installed panel orientation do you use for hoymiles microinverters? Portrait or Landscape?
how would haven a battery bank connected to the solar panels work in this configuration?
What vendor do you recommend purchasing Hoymiles inverters from for a DIY person? Their direct website points you to distributors.
nice review of this 4-in-1 micro inverter, but do they work with off grid? I need a micro inverter to work off-grid initially because there is no grid for over a year from now, in June 2023. Who makes a 4-in-1 micro inverter to work off-grid?
If your off grid get a off grid inverter check out my other videos I have a 12k Growatt All in One off grid inverter powering my off grid home. Better yet solark is better then Growatt check out all your options.
@@ModernOffGridDIY date? When was it posted?
Yes you can , add an ac coupling inverter with battery all in one like Franklinwh or enphase have.
Can we hook out output power of 220 volt into AC output panel outside?
My Main breaker is way far then where I can install solar panels?
Running high voltage DC can be installed at a long distance. If it's AC only 240v then distance is alot shorter. That's why I'm using DC high voltage for my setup. Cheaper wire
Aloha My question is do I need to let Helco know that I’m connecting my Hoymiles inverter to my breaker/ panel Mahalo
You need to have a licensed electrician install and pull the permit. If you currently don't have any solar grid-tie on your home you will have to pull the permits. I have my permits. My electrician is awesome.
Mahalo 👍
How many of these micro inverters can I connect to my house?
No limit
How can I get ahold of you? I wana install a windmill at my house.

If you say “you can hook up 4 panels guys” one more time…
So this setup will back feed the grid during a power outage. They will shut you down for that immediately. Especially if you have a smart meter. Not to mention possibly hurt a lineman.
No you are worng. all new Grid Tie inverters even older solar edge inverters have Anti Islanding which turns off the inverters Instantly. No back feed. You should do more research before making false statements.
Bypass diodes built into solar panels eliminate the problem of shading on part of a series string, it bypasses the shaded panels and still provides the power that the unshaded panels are producing. lol
Correct to bypass diode works.
But if you have an object that often interferes with the panel often. Will the bypass diode wear and eventually break.
So there are points with micro invertets is good, if shading is frequent and large .
@@perandersnilsson1974 a bypass diodes usage lifespan will outlast the panel unless the owner is completely and utterly idiotic when setting up and positioning the solar array. a bypass diode has a working lifespan of about 30k-50k hours. so even if you had 3-4 hours of shade on a panel, every day, for 20 years straight..... that still would not surpass the lifespan of a bypass diode
@@jimmy4518 Sorry.
I have heard of actual cases where the panel dies after 3-5 years
Where the same area took a lot of shade.
@@perandersnilsson1974 Those are VERY poor quality panels then, even if it took 12 hours of shade for every day for 5 years, it should not fail. What panels were they?
