    Thank you to all of you for following along and giving your time and attention to this channel as I’ve torn down and built up Rosie. Ride safe and have an amazing 2019. I’m thankful you all were along for the process.

    I’m impressed by your thoughtfulness and ingenuity. You clearly put on your bike years of experience and tries-and-errors, and you seem to have found a soft spot where practicality and vision meet. I’m a rider with no off-road experience at all and in two days I will pick-up my first adventure bike, so watching this video made me think a lot about what I will do - and also what I will not :-) . Congratulations, and keep on riding.

    Nice job. Older video but just stumbled upon it today. I see you have lots of AUX lights mounted in different spots.
    IF you were to mount just just ONE set of smaller AUX lights with yellow lens on a regular 1250GS, like the Darlas, purely to be better seen during the day -- where would you mount them? On the lower forks like you have yours or somewhere else?
    I don't have upper crash bars.... only the lower crash bars .... which seems like a bad spot in case the bike goes down.

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're not really riding hard-off-road, fork mount is fine. We have Denali D2s and Clearwater Darlas on two GS bikes and at the fork location, they're great and have given zero issues. I wouldn't hesitate recommending that for small 2" lights. If you're going to be bushwacking over logs and through water crossings where rocks are everywhere, maybe not but I do and also haven't had an issue.

    Any more info on the dash cam? How’s it power up, what’s it record to, how much interaction from you does it need, etc

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just turns on when I start the bike and just records for up to 6 hours then starts recording over (overwriting the tape). I can press a button if I want to save a clip to not be deleted.

    My apologies if I missed this info. The gear shifter that you show at around 15:30 -- I don't see this listed in your extensive listing on your web site. Very interested in this and have not seen one. Could you add it to your list?

    Hi Adam, I think your videos are great! At what point would you just buy a dirt bike and stick blinkers and brake lights on it VS buying a GS/streetbike and spending nearly 20K on upgrades so you can take it off road?

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I have a dirt bike as well and an around town cruising motorcycle. All of them have a lot of upgrades. I think the point is more about enjoying modifying the bike than the bike needing all of these things.

    So I’m not the only one then, whew! LOL. I bought a Touratech GPS holder made for your bike and adapted it to my Harley. Made risers and everything. Just wanted the GPS in the center and not on one of those ball mounts on the throttle. No one makes one of these for a Harley. Got brake checked once while I was looking over at the GPS and almost rode up dude’s butt. I’ve added Rigid Industries SAE SR fog lights to it too. Every light on the bike is Custom Dynamic lights except for said fog lights. But I can SEE CLEARLY at night now. Put seat rests and hard bags on it and made a FatBoy S into a bagger. I need an automatic hand slapper to keep me off the internet shopping sites. Fantastic bike you have there though. My next bike will be a GSA. Thanks for sharing. Love it.

    Good work, Adam. What a great way to spend winter!
    Any thought to using a black breather hose, or did you choose the red piping to tie in with the tank color?

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the plan. Basically, I install mods as is and throughout the year, I take them off as they fail or at the end of the year, I see if they were just snake oil or not so if end of year comes around and I don't find any water in my final drive (milk), I'll keep it installed and change the hose.

    Great video Adam, enjoy that bike! I’m sure I’ll be watching this again many times for reference when buying new parts! One question, why no rear mudsling fender? Any opinion on those? Thanks!

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad you asked about the Mudsling. I actually purchased 2 of them, Maier and MachineArt Moto. Neither of them work with my Touratech suspension or Jesse luggage rack. I'm actually taking them to a friend who is going to help me modify them for install. Stay tuned. I think we'll have an install video for that really soon.

      Update, the rear mudsling is now installed!

    • @PezRacer
      @PezRacer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you speak from your experience of whether or not the mudsling works with knobbies on a GSA? Their website says there are fitment issues with the GSA and knobbies, meaning rubbing when on the center stand. Thanks Adam!

  • @greddyevo79

    is that an aftermarket Steering damper?

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is! It is a HyperPro/Yacugar damper. You can get it for around $350. It's the same one Touratech sells for $550 just without their branding on it. It's progressive so you can increase resistance for when you're 2-up highway touring or going through deep sand. It's night and day when I remove it from the bike.

    Great video and tastefully done. Your bike is looking sweet! I have a 2019 R1200GS and have been loving it. I am finally getting around to adding some more mods to it. One thing that I think you might like are the Weiser Technik 2 in 1 Drive/Turn Signals and Brake/Turn Signals. They were easy to install and they fit in the blinker housings. They have added a lot more visibility to my bike from the front and rear. More drivers are now noticing me on the road and I feel a bit safer. I will share the link below.
    www.weisertechnik.com/collections/driving-lights-turn-signals/products/ultrabrights-extreme-2in1-led-drive-turn-signal-upgrades-white-amber-front-ext-dtc-bm01

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using the Dynamic Motorrad LED Turn signals. I like that they’re plug and play w/o the need for additional wiring. Weisers offer the added ‘running light’ visibility but I have their aux lights for that. Thanks for the comment.
