My 27 year old daughter recently told me she started listening to Chevelle ( I listened to them a lot while she was growing up ) I said “Well yeah they are BAD ASS!” 😎💯 (I’ll admit this song has even made me cry) What a EPIC masterpiece!!
I found out about this band yesterday and i have to say i'm kinda disappointed for not knowing about them all this time. Their music is so chill yet powerful and all of their songs have a very unique vibe to them.
I am 45 today, HUGE fan of Metallica, Slayer, all 80's hair bands, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, Blink 182, Incubus, ALL early 80's bands, ETC ETC.... I would like to declare that Chevelle is THE BEST BAND of the last two decades. God bless you boys, and keep making the most soul-stirring music I have EVER heard! I can listen to a youtube best-of your songs for hours on end. *EDIT* OK Yeah I overstepped calling Chevelle best ever, my bad. Not sure what I was thinking 5 years ago but I was wrong. Stop calling me out for my stupidity and tell me what you think the best was.
Savage Dawg Well said sir.I am 28 and was raised by my older cousins who always loved some Smashing Pumpkins,Bush,Incubus, etc. The music brings back the wonderful memories of all the great times we had.
Drummer Sam Loeffler told Vancouver radio station 99.3 The Fox that this song's subject matter reflects the quirky themes of Sci-Fi Crimes. He explained that the song is a "kind of play on words. It's saving the environment. It's a joke about saving the environment and it's about literally taking the earth, and putting it into jars to save it for later. It's very tongue in cheek."
On my point of view... No matter what is exacly on the lyrics, but i think pretty much the value you give to them. Even if the writer never had any intentions, "it's a tongue in cheek" song like you say, but the way you live it, the signification behind to you... just like when you see a movie and some song simply change the way you look at that scene (ex: American Psico). This one weights heavy on me.
Hold onto chance Lest we bleed ourselves Save for the pets They're the loneliest Put into jars We'll save this earth Put into jars We'll save the earth We can't both become the same Pawn that's made to fall Oil that tastes like blood Stole the summer scent From me to you You're stabbing me through you You're stabbing you through him And betting most of This world We'll add enough of the world Steal from yourselves It never felt so good And feed from their hand's Confuse by opposites Put into jars We'll save this earth Put into jars Keep safe this earth We can't both become the same Pawn that's made to fall Oil that tastes like blood Stole the summer scent From me to you You're stabbing me through you You're stabbing you through him And betting most of This world We'll add enough of the world This world We'll add enough of the world Feeling manic for a day Depends on the trends Depends on the surface If the sun never sets We can't both become the same Pawn that's made to fall Oil that tastes like blood Stole the summer scent From me to you You're stabbing me through you You're stabbing you through him And betting most of This world We'll add enough of the world Is the main thing you'll shout Till the bitter end Into jars
I honestly think this is one of their best. A shame it didn't get the recognition it deserved. This came out right about the same time that rock was disappearing.
I must say I really prefer Chevelle with Dean Bernardini. He's a helluva bass player and comes up with some really interesting stuff. Really cool them keeping it in the family like they did and inviting their brother in law to play with them. They just sound so much better with him. A lot chunkier or something. Regardless I love all their albums. I also like the fact that Pete Loeffler avoids rhyming with his lyrics. It's possible to do that and still make an extremely catchy song. Way too many people rely on rhymes. When done right it can be like poetry but when done wrong it just comes across very juvenile at times.
Watah, Dean is a brother by marriage I believe, though the original bassist was a direct brother, they still kept it in the family. Apparently Dean also lays down some drums for the albums too.
Theres something so fucking raw about that very very distinct "myspace" style of rock that emerged from the mid-late 2000s. Its not exactly like the rock you heard on the radio, and not a lot of bands really tapped into it but its probably one of my favorite rock eras ever. Escape The Fates first album, this album, Evans Blues early work. It was a very very distinct style that hasnt been heard since.
Everytime I feel completely out of control. I can not result to r&b rap... I seem to find myself always coming back to my childhoof days genre "Chevelle" & Alternative rock. When I need to feel the music & lyrics to more or less calm myself down. I listen to them, they are extremely great artists. In each song has hidden messages in which yu must think deeply to fully grasps the objective of the song itself. Let alone the instrumentals, it always seems to keep me at ease rather start a riot... thanks guys extremely grateful for yout existence. 😆😇😈
I was just thinking about that. I just turned 30. There seemsto be a relatively smaller subculture (I guess depending on where u live) of people who are around my age give or take that only want to listen to this music. I feel that people who really like this sort of music have stronger feelings and are more sincere and intelligent
Seeing them live was on my bucket list and I finally got the check that one off this summer. Now I have a new line on the list; see Chevelle live AGAIN!
I recommend checking out Dying Fetus. They were once a 5 piece band that is now just a 3 piece band. Drummer, bassist and guitarist. Both the bassist and guitarist share vocal duties and they're heavy AF. Die With Integrity, Compulsion For Cruelty, Fixated On Devastation, Subjected To A Beating, Second Skin....all great bangers from them.
That I love tool also but chevelle I think they are finally getting some notarity for there sound witch in my opinion they should have gotten many many years ago
@@beezybeez5971 I just gave a listening to whispering wolf… Very nice little bits of heavy-metal I think. I read about 20 comments that people had left… It seems many people were suggested to listen to that video. Have a nice day. Oh I even saw your channel name beezybee! 🐝🦋

Such a under rated song. Hell, the whole band is way under rated.
So funny. I just shared this video and commented the exact same thing.

I love to relate the song to the jars of manna saved by the Jews makes me think even deeper on the lyrics

This is my fave song by them. Ive never heard a song like this, that takes me where this song does.
We'll had enough. I love it.
I love when I find a collection of people that appreciate an obscure song that I am secretly obsessed with. Peace and love from rural Missouri❤.
Hold onto chance
Lest we bleed ourselves
Save for the pets
They're the loneliest
Put into jars
We'll save this earth
Put into jars
We'll save the earth
We can't both become the same
Pawn that's made to fall
Oil that tastes like blood
Stole the summer scent
From me to you
You're stabbing me through you
You're stabbing you through him
And betting most of
This world
We'll add enough of the world
Steal from yourselves
It never felt so good
And feed from their hand's
Confuse by opposites
Put into jars
We'll save this earth
Put into jars
Keep safe this earth
We can't both become the same
Pawn that's made to fall
Oil that tastes like blood
Stole the summer scent
From me to you
You're stabbing me through you
You're stabbing you through him
And betting most of
This world
We'll add enough of the world
This world
We'll add enough of the world
Feeling manic for a day
Depends on the trends
Depends on the surface
If the sun never sets
We can't both become the same
Pawn that's made to fall
Oil that tastes like blood
Stole the summer scent
From me to you
You're stabbing me through you
You're stabbing you through him
And betting most of
This world
We'll add enough of the world
Is the main thing you'll shout
Till the bitter end
Into jars
Thank you! ✨

damn that car has great wheel alignment
That was also the smoothest dirt road I have ever seen in reality or fiction.
plus weight distribution of the dude jumping around and proper tire inflation :)
That is because it is a Ford not a chevy.. (Ironic a band named chevelle would use a ford crown vic rather than a chevy chevelle)
