    Disconnected my ECM when I replaced my spark plugs and ignition coils. After that my car will not start sometimes, unless I press the gas pedal a little. After I performed all 3 relearns my car starts just fine now.. thank you!!

    Excellent video. I did this exact job on a 2006 Maxima and it’s the same procedure except for having to remove the windshield section. I can’t thank you enough for all the precise steps that you showed. Saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you.

    Thanks for the reference. I just changed the plugs and valve cover gaskets on my wifes 2008 Quest this weekend, and same thing started happening. Idle drops then surges back up. I'll try this tonight.

    I'm getting ready to do this job on our 2004 Maxima and although I feel confident in my work, your information really helps to make the procedure mor simplified even though it's involved. Thanks greatly!

    Great finish!
    BTW On tools: instead of buying a very short 3/8 ratchet I took your suggestion and bought the Harbor Freight bendy ratchet. When I need the short ratchet, I just remove the last portion of the ratchet handle. It is held on via allen bolt.

    Thank you for the detailed videos and explanations. Really Appreciate it. on Program Idle Air volume....after following steps listed.... Service Engine Soon is NOT blinking during 20 seconds. and the problem of Air volume is not fixed. Any suggestions pls.? Thank you.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว

      The idle relearn procedure I listed is from the Nissan service manual. If you tried multiple times and still doesn't work, you will probably need to get a hold a scan tool that can program the idle relearn.

    • @kksrinivasanaidu78
      @kksrinivasanaidu78 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for responding, can you recommend which tool can be used? I have actually used all the tools and parts you mentioned in the videos and they worked like a charm. Thank you

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually you will need a high end scan tool costing $500 to do those special relearn function. I found this one from Launch which claims to to idle relearn for under $200 and free lifetime software update. I did review it before (but I did not try the idle relearn function) Here is the review video and the buying link is in the video description: th-cam.com/video/WxtOb5-ICgg/w-d-xo.html

    Does that work on the INFINITI FX35 2010?
    anyways thank you so much gor helping people ❤🌹..

      That I am not sure, if your Infiniti was close to the model year as my 04 05 06, then I would think so, but not sure about 2010. Best to try to find the service manual and check there or go on an Infiniti chat forum which usually have some great experts there.

    Hello sir. Please help me out. I replaced the ignition coils 1,3, n 5 after the whole process I got codes 300(killer code) n 174. I went ahead n replaced the throttle body cam shaft sensor 1 n 2 in bank two but my vehicle is still idling rough. I did found a crack hose to the back of the pendun n replaced also. I don’t know how to go about getting my Quest back to good running order. Could you please give me any further ideas of what’s wrong with my quest

    I too, agree the videos were outstanding! Thank you for your time and patience in sharing and developing the videos. I just wanted to ask you if it would be a good ideal to applied the same principles to my 2006 Maxima SL? Once again, thank you!

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 06 Maxima should be the same accept you probably don't need to remove the window cowl to gain more room. Also if you have to do the idle relearn, the procedure may be different. You will have to look up the Nissan service manual for that.

    • @leroycampbell5584

    I need to replace the tag lights on an 04 Quest. I know the lift-gate interior pannel needs to be removed to gain access to the tag bulbs. Is there a video showing how to do this?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have a vid on this, but I have taken it out before and you need to pop that inside panel off to get to it. It's not too bad of a job. They are just held in by plastic clips.

    Hi there bud you videos are great keep up the good work.. Im getting ready to do this on a 2007 Nissan Maxima i need to change front rear valve covers plus spark plugs i got all parts number you say in the previous 4 videos i watched them all.. My question will this procedure also work on my maxima even tho is no a quest the engines look identical .. And second will i need to take off also the wipers and all that column behind the intake plenum manifold just to make it easier .. Your help will be much appreciated thanks again for all those great videos

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your Maxima and my Quest both have the VQ35DE V6 engine. The steps should be the same. I would however make sure all the parts you got will work for your specific model of car (your local Nissan dealer parts dept are usually very friendly with helping you confirm). I tried checking pictures on the net for your engine and it looks like there should be enough room, but I read some post where people had to remove the window cowl on the maxima to get more room for the back bolts. That part you will have to search the various forums for more info.

    With the Idle Air symptoms, can it surge past 1000rms? Also would there be a burning odor also?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      My only experience is what was shown in the video. At the same time, it won't hurt for you to try the reprogram procedure in the description. As to the burning smell, that must be something else.

    How much time would you assume it would take to do what you did in the videos from 1 - 5, I'm doing a Nissan Murano 07

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to judge because depends on experience and the tools you have. I would say if you are proficient around a car, probably 3-4 hours. If you are not and taking your time, it might be 5-6 hours. Also be prepared for any surprises such as my pvc pipe cracking due to age. Honestly, doing this saves lots of money but make sure you don't incur any mistakes which can cost you more money at the end.

      dial2fast I just got done, your videos were very very helpful. Now that I've changed the spark plugs and done what I've needed to do, I'm getting the "Service Engine Soon" light on. I searched the interwebs, and I guess I need to take the vehicle to an auto shop for them scan or something along the lines of that (according to some of the stuff I read off of google), have any idea how I can address the problem here at home?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ferni LaLo The only thing you can try without a OBD scanner is disconnect the battery and see if that clears it. Have you double check all the connections and make sure nothing got left out. How is it driving? Other than that, go to your local auto parts store and do a free scan to get the trouble code. Hope it's something minor.

    Great video(s). I plan on doing this next month. How long do you think it will take without filming?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have all the right tools, set aside 3-4 hours. Be organized and don't rush it, cause that's when mistakes can happen.

      This was done on a 2004 Nissan Quest V6. I would say if your Altima is 2004, 2005, 2006, then most likely it will work.

      I have add it to the description now. But here you go
      * It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.
      1. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
      2. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
      3. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
      4. Quickly press down and release the accelerator pedal fully 5 times within 5 seconds
      5. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it down for approx. 20 seconds
      6. During this time, the check engine soon light will begin blinking and stop blinking and remain on at the end of the 20 seconds
      6. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the check engine soon light turned ON.
      7. Start engine and let it idle.
      8. Wait 20 seconds.
      9. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure that idle speed and ignition timing are within the
      specifications.

      Download them at www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan-altima-factory-service-manuals.html

    • @moparfanboy
      @moparfanboy 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      dial2fast Changed the spark plugs yesterday and i found it's easier not to disconnect lower intake manifold from upper one. only need to disconnect all surrounding brackets and hoses in order to lift off both parts at once. it's a huge time saver by not having to battle those hard to reach connecting bolts at the bottom. Also, wont have to replace the gasket.
