Man I love these videos. Your a good teacher...lol. I'm freshening up both a 00 model and an 02 model at the same time. I have them in different sections of the shop ofcourse but in 2 years there is a lot of differences. I think I'll dig into the yz250f next year....maybe....she still runs and rides great.
Hey man , I need help. 09 kx450f tensioner failure bent exhaust valves after complete rebuilt(not by me) new piston, jug. Head ,cams, rpm springs, guides, seals, cam caps. Put in 4 valves, shimed, new fuel pump(I think it was just the oring) . It starts great, but it bogs with minimal throttle inputs . Ran good for a 1/4 mile now it does this all the time .
Well, it’s a process of diagnostics but I would 100% start with a fuel pressure test. This will ensure that the pump is putting out the proper pressure (43psi) and maintaining residual pressure after shutdown.
@AlvjaDahat this is the kit I use and it’s very reasonable. The nipple from the fuel pump assy tends to be about 1/8” too long for this tester in most cases and can be easily shortened with no consequences. a.co/d/i5QoNMN
This is unrelated to this video, but I have a question about my kx250f no matter what I seem to do I can not get it to idle and run when off choke unless I give it gas I just got it to idle when on choke yesterday and I’ve cleaned the injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, adjusted the throttle cables, the idle adjust doesn’t change anything, I’m just out of ideas as to what my problem could be any ideas would be greatly appreciated
What year? You said injector so it has to be 2011 or up. I just did a 11 KX250F with this same issue, and it’s a little common on these bikes. After all the diag, turned out that the valve lash, although in spec was too tight. Had to shim on the looser side and it fixed the idle problem. Watch my vids episodes 72 and 75
@@restoroosterohv it’s a 2015, and we did do the shims a little tighter when we rebuilt the motor still in spec I believe 6 thousandths for intake and 8 thousandths for exhaust, so that could definitely be a problem I will look into that and watch those videos
@@restoroosterohv I believe that’s pretty close to what there at but I will get a feelers gauge later that’s in mm do check in instead of going by thousandths lol

Thank you for your kind words. Good luck with your builds.
Awesome content so much so that I went out and purchased a "bike in a box"...
oh dear what have I done😮😂
Your videos are really helpful 😊
Haha, you’ve got this. If you’ve got any questions, I’m here to help.
Another great video!!!
Thank you thank you

@restoroosterohv thanks! I'll start getting what I need to perform this test .

@restoroosterohv I was just literally looking on Amazon. Thanks, man. I really appreciate your help and great content.
@AlvjaDahat thank you. I appreciate your support.
I can’t get the damn top cap separated from the inner piston🤦♂️
You may be able to apply a little heat from a heat gun to the top cap where it meets the inner piston.
@@restoroosterohv alright thanks. I’ll give that a shot

@@restoroosterohv what valve clearance would you recommend I should go with ?
0.15mm intake and 0.22 for exhaust (or even a touch over)
