I finished this conversion today. the metal was softer than I expected and the drill went through fairly easily/accurately. just have to start out slow until you get enough metal drilled out to go all the way through. I was pleasantly surprised when going through the front wheel shell the wheel had a circle guide already there for you to drill through. the back was definitely easier than the front. tube tire is pretty easy to install if you have the tire tools and use your feet/weight to keep the tire install going.
@@Drippinonthedroop the front tube valve will touch the wheel shell when fully inflated to spec. you can still insert a valve extender when you need to fill the tire again (or just deflate fully and refill with air after attaching extender). the holes need to be drilled in the proper spots so the valve does not touch the front wheel fork. this video shows where the hole was drilled in the wheel shell, but I actually drilled slightly higher/closer to the center (where you see the lip in the shell).

@@yunhai1918 yes, solid tires = lots of vibration. Also, it is NOT an easy job. It only took me a few hours because I have tools and experience working on cars/bikes/motorcycles.

What are some tools you feel make the job easier that are not shown in the video? It would be a much greater help if there was commentary. I sure hope there is 8.5" tubes that have liquid patch/fix a flat. If it takes that much time to switch out tires that would definitely be some help. Some of these bumps are so bad it shakes my eyes so much it's blur to see.
Finally found this vid. Coz i want to change my tire into air filled . To bumpy with does solid tires. I need to upgrade the suspension 😮 but overall AOVOPRO was good enough
Can confirm that this works. The key is to heat up the tires when removing and installing as well as soapy water...this will make the job sooo much easier. For mine, i had to get the tire valve extension for the front wheel as the valve on the inner tube was too short when poking put outside the wheel to place a pump socket onto it when inflating.
@The Flyte this is because the tyre is 150mm and the tyre is probably 155mm so it doesn’t sit flush or one side always doesn’t quite pop up, giving a wobble. I got past this by using a bobbin sander to open up the inside of the tyre just enough so it sat right. I have since got some better tyres that fit properly. Also i kept getting inner tubes splitting on the rim side and that was due to the large gulley causing the inner tube to stretch in the area. I filled it with dense sponge. Been perfect since
@The Flyte when the tyre doesn’t sit right let it down massage it a bit or use a lever to pull it up a bit then use washing up liquid to help seat the tyre when you pump it 👍🏻

Actually the hole is already in the front rim just not the hub cover. I don’t see any problems as it’s sealed but could always use some black silicone around the edge of where you make the hole in the cover to be sure 👍🏻

I'm a little confused because you show a 90 degree valve extension in one shot and then in the other the valve is just barely sticking out past the wheel cover. Could you explain this a little better? Thanks!
Yes the valve extension is used to hold the tube in place when I fit the tyre and stop the valve popping back in and to pump the tyres up as my pump doesn’t fit otherwise.
But someone said honeycomb tires was better ! No need for air filled tube! Solid tires was suck! The vibration when you hit the rough road is from head to toe 😂
Sorry for The late reply been very busy If you take the tyre off you will see the hole already in the wheel hub and also if you take the cover off you will see the hole and it will give you a idea where to mark and drill the hole 👍🏻
Its so much better not only for comfort for yourself but it protects your scooter from the vibrations. Personally I would fit 10x2 tyres using the 10 inch extension kit for kick stand and fender. They are even better and so easy to fit 👍🏻

Hi mate you know where you drilled the hole on the motor bit, can i drill the hole in the same place you did it or shall i take the cover off first to see it
Sorry had a busy time with home life … on this model the hole should be there under the cover so you can see the hole when you take the solid tyre off and align the drill to meet the hole on the inside with the one on the cover 👍🏻

Of course with solid tyres you don’t get flats but the solid tyres not only are such a horrible riding experience the vibrations end up causing issues to the scooter. If you look after your tyres and pressure you shouldn’t get so many flats 👍🏻 or go tubeless even better 👌🏻

I just completed this mod using a squirt bottle with dish soap and water in it.
Getting flats regularly is not an upgrade.
Of course with solid tyres you don’t get flats but the solid tyres not only are such a horrible riding experience the vibrations end up causing issues to the scooter.
