Don’t allow the guilt of your Ancestors keep you from learning the real truth of what they did for you to enjoy the inheritance of your ancestors and how they got it. When you know your real history, maybe you’ll think twice about mistreating that person of color because of his color. My ancestors didn’t ask to come here, they didn’t Illegally cross the border trying to get here, they were stolen and brought here to work with no pay, women raped for the pleasure of the masters and slave owners. Let what I say be a teaching moment for those that don’t know because when you know better, you do better. Have a great day, I’m gone try even after looking at this. There’s millions of stories just like this all over the US and other countries that had slaves too.

In my opinion, it's never the hauntings or the ghosts that are the scariest part of these locations and stories; it's the events surrounding them and the fact they happened and they're real that's terrifying. I don't know how anyone can understate, brush over or deny what the African slaves, the ancestors of today's Black people, went through. Things like this should never be forgotten (hence the channel name and purpose of it, yeah?). I hope the archaeologist findings can bring closure and peace to the spirits and anyone presently related to these souls. Thank you for always treating these sensitive and haunting stories with the respect and solemnity they deserve. 💜
@moonlusterblack wow, yes the things that happened to our ancestors are worse than the ghost or spirit of not resting souls. I pray for their peace. Their lives were horrible and where in our history books are these things, they are not and we know why. It's obviously shameful what they did. I'm 70 and remember asking my dad " what are white people praying for on Sunday at church "? They were still doing so many wrong stuff to black people and people of color. We went to church and I always wondered are they reading the same Bible and if they did, how could they do the things they did and still call themselves a child of God. That's still now that I ask that same question.

I did too. Because it shows how many people are so evil and cruel. Same stuff going on today with human trafficking. Evil people do not evolve. They just make changes to their strategy based on where the money is now. Back then, they kidnapped free people and human trafficked them as slaves. Today, they catch people who they can human traffic or sell into sx slavery. It is a crime throughout the ages and they always seem above the law.
That story was just as much heartbreaking as it was haunting! I appreciate you telling it though! May all the people that suffered there REST IN PEACE!!

What I can't believe is that Crenshaw's descendents have said the attic was used to store fruits and vegetables. Unbearable sadness 💔 and shameful sorrow. Tough one to see, but necessary so we do not forget. Thanks Ron you told the story very well yet delicately and respectfully.
Horrible. Well we can safely guess this slave owner, Crenshaw, and his overseers are burning crispy. The spirits of the tortured may haunt the place but they for sure must be with God.

My husband went there with a friend a long time ago. He took me and another couple, it had interesting articles about President Lincoln and the room he had stayed in. He had heard voices upstairs when he went the first time. I am so glad you found this place of significance and are sharing it with us. We tried to find it again and couldn’t. I live not far from there. Have been inside that house for field trips when I was a kid. Such a haunting place. I wish that you could still tour it. Uncle Bobs name was Robert Wilson and he ended up at Elgin State Hospital where he died and is buried there behind the old hospital.
The desperation, sadness, hopelessness those people must have felt. Such an unbelievable story looking at it through 2024 eyes. I actually had to view this twice just to take it all in. I hope one day the Spirits of those abused will finally rest in peace.
I feel bad what happened to those people, the people that hurt them and killed them have been rotting in hell where they belong. The look of his wife in the photo is terrifying her eyes are terrifying to look at. Thanks for sharing this story Ron. I feel bad for the souls that are trapped there with no way to be set free to pass on. Take care Ron, looking forward to your next post.
Oh Ron! What a wonderful Halloween treat. So sad these poor souls are the reason for the tale. May they rest in peace and may we never see such atrocities against our fellow people again.
When you think about how ugly the concept of slavery was for people. Those whom have inflicted so much pain and torture on to another human being just sickens we so at the same time it angers me. Just imagine how frighten the young woman were being shove at Uncle Bob for breeding purposes. And, there others that were chained to those stocks, who were listening to all the chaos while the beats and assaulting going on. Unbelievable that those rooms are still there. The Crenshaws were terrible people, just plain evil, the negativity that exist within the walls of the house along with the trapped souls of the slave prisoners is specifically why even if the house burns down, the land is forever tainted. Thank you, for the reminder and the history of this plantation. As though I never heard of this place before. It should be preserved as an example of what was (menacing, and vile) and if we allow the potential could occur again. Thanks, Ron. Be safe on your travels.
Ron wow this was a gripping and shocking story 😳 I can't imagine the horror those poor souls endured 😢 The footage of the house and grounds were unbelievable, so good!ll i was so engrossed in the story and looking at the house that I literally jumped when the face appeared in the windows of the 3rd floor 😮!!! Amazing job Ron this was fantastic !!! 👏 Perfect for Halloween 🎃
I went through that house a couple of times when it was open for tours. This would have been during the late 60s and early 70s. I was a kid the first time and recall that the guide had our parents read something about Uncle Bob. I guess he didn't want to talk about it in front of me and my sisters. Being the oldest, I sneaked a peek and understood. It was definitely a spooky experience and hard to believe that such a place existed in Illinois. I
Man's inhumanity to their fellow human beings is awful when We are one human family. I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween even as we remember these dark blots on our past.
I have been there and toured the house. The owners were trying to go get the state of Illinois to purchase the place. There were whipping posts in the yard at that time. My great great grandfather lived in Elizabethtown not far from there. His name was Dr George W Stevens. He went on trial for the murder of Sarah Cook in the late 1800’s. He had performed an abortion on her. He was convicted and was sentenced to 1 year in prison. He was shot in ambush and killed in 1896. I love your stories.
wow, interesting. if you have his grave location, especially a pic, I will film his story. if you want. sounds like intriguing real history!! email - facesforgottentoday@gmail.com
@sandyshuck9678 My great great grandmother burned down the courthouse in E'town. Well, she hired a guy to do it. She had some kind of land scandal going on. Hardin, Gallatin, and Pope Counties have some fantastic history.
@FacesoftheForgotten If you would like to know stories from around the area, I have plenty. My ancestors were involved in a lot of them. If you go to the Catholic cemetery in Ridgway IL you will find the huge tombstone of Frank Bahl, my great great uncle. He ordered it from Italy shortly before he was murdered. My great grandfather went on trial for the murder. The account was written up in Sprinhouse Magazine in the 1990s. You should also look up John Musgraves. He is a local historian. He knows all kinds of things.
Kept this one for today to keep hold of spooky season 🎃. For just a little bit longer. Thank you so much Ron for bringing us all these videos. I've enjoyed each one.
Illinois State is so broke they won’t fix anything up. There are so many historical homes that could have can be repaired but it’s not gonna happen. Mcpike mansion is one this is another very sad thing to literally watch history disappear from decay
@melindaroop1346 The state wants the people of the county that it is in to pay the bill to have it restored through higher property taxes. Taxes in the county are already sky high, and Gallatin Co. is the 3rd poorest county in Illinois. The county is having trouble keeping up with the costs to keep the county court house running. The Sisk family, who lived there, kept it in great condition. Some celebrities looked at it to buy, but no one ever has.
OMG! You are in my home county. I graduated from the high school just a few miles away. I also know the family (Sisk) that owned the Crenshaw house. I have been in the mansion, including the attic. My brother spent the night there when he was in Jr. High because he was friends with Sisk family son.
Houses with secrets are my favorite!! Great story and also thanks for the link on the excavation! Very interesting! You're the best,Ron!! Happy Halloween!!
That was intense and so tragic. Those poor people. No justice, no closure. They should just tear the place down. Leave a marker type sign so what had happened in the past isn't forgotten. As they should never be forgotten. But left to be at rest. Thank you Ron for this intense tragic story. I hope everyone has had a great Halloween.
Such a creepy evil place! Maybe extensive photos should be taken for documentation and then the place should be torn down. Would the spirits be freed then?
What an awful, awful life the slsves were subjected to!!! Plus living in the attic had to be so hot! The secrets that were kept, we only know the half of it!
You never fail us Ron!!! Another spooky story presented with wanting to know more!!! Little drone Jimmy did great with the feature showing us the real deal. Your last implant of the slave woman ghost at the window was superb and added mystique to the entire video! Thanks Ron for this entire Halloween series! It was fantastic! 💀👻🎃🤪👻💀🎃
Loved this episode Ron! My brother lives in that area, Rosiclaire, Hardin County. I've been down in that area many times. He's told me about "the old slave house" but it hasn't been open to the public for years. (at one time it was actually open for tours) I don't know if you are still there, but Cave in Rock has some pretty interesting history too!
There is an old grave yard in the little town of Equality Illinois.Ive seen graves that date back to the 1830s.My husband knew little George Sisk JR.that inherited the old Slave house from his father. He sold it to the state of Illinois.
Go to Old Shawneetown next! So much interesting history, albeit brutal, in Gallatin Co. Also, in neighboring Hardin Co. , Pope Co. The "first serial killers", the Harpes lived in Cave In Rock.
Really horrific , but fascinating story. Excellent drone work! The only uplifting part of the episode was that beautiful oak tree - glad you gave it a shout out.
Yes you're right. I mean look at the racial murder rates in America and see whom is doing wrong to whom. We need to finally fix this mess and make a drastic change.
Not true. Everyone is just as capable of doing evil and you should know that racist whites use that same bs about us as well. They say we blacks have special DNA that makes us violent and predisposed to commit crimes. Don't you see the absurdity!!!
Wow Ron, Great storytelling as usual, but the history of what went on in that house was very hard to hear about. We need to face these dreadful and horrible stories of the history of our country nonetheless--along with the good things. Hearing of what those poor captive souls endured there though, I have no trouble at all believing in how haunted that attic is. The degree of suffering, violence and cruelty those poor souls endured is absolutely shocking and boggles the mind. I can't imagine how anyone could spend a night in that house, but I wish that the place could be exorcised from what surely must be an infestation of demons. I wish also that the poor souls who are still in torment there could be helped to move on to peace. Honestly, I'm surprised that the house is still standing. Thanks for sharing this story with us Ron. Happy Halloween to you and to everyone in this wonderful FOTF family! 🎃🪦🏚️
I don't believe in trapped souls - that would b unending torture & I do believe the souls of everyone pass on beyond the gravity of earth. However I also believe a recording so to speak of intense emotion can imprint the electrical ethers of an earthly location to the point where those open to it can experience a whisper of the vibration. Just my 2 cents.
At a Doctor's Surgery {UK} there was a lovely member of staff whom I asked ''Do you have an American accent?''...and she replied ''I sure do...a Deep South American accent''.. She moved from USA and has lived in Europe for many years. It is unthinkable that her relatives were once brought to USA as enslaved workers. UK as well has a slave trading history, West Indies. Modern slavery still goes on, sadly. Cannabis farms, and se* slavery. {The city here did an exhibition of modern slavery}.
I grew up just a little North of there. The house used to be open, and I visited there a few times. It is now owned by the State of Illinois. The family, of course, refutes this story.
How am I able to email you? I have a story here in Colorado that is quite famous that I think needs to be told and remembered. She is buried in my parents cemetery (where I too will be buried). I’d like to email you the story and see if you’re interested and worth remembering. My brother and I have contacted this cemetery to “Clean up her Grave”! Which…they did. She is a legacy that still exists today here in Denver. Btw…I’m a 70 yro native of Colorado and feel her forgotten legacy should be told.
Such a sad story. I would have never thought that slavery still existed after slavery was abolished. Great detective work on finding this story. What a life these poor people lived. So inhumane. I got home from Chicago late yesterday, so I am just able to watch now and trying to catch up on watching the rest of my subscriptions that I have missed. I always start with yours because you're such a great storyteller and your videos are so well done. All the pictures and the drone really brings this story to life and you always do it perfectly. I live not far from there. Have been inside that house for field trips when I was a kid. Such a haunting place. I wish that you could still tour it. Uncle Bobs name was Robert Wilson and he ended up at Elgin State Hospital where he died and is buried there behind the old hospital.
Best way to spend Halloween. With Ron and the Gang 👻👻🎃💜
Absolutely !!!🎃🎃
My God-how horrible. And this was just one story-how many other horror houses/institutions of suffering occurred that we will never know of.
Unfortunately there decendants are still in America running the government, that's why reparations must be paid to the defendants of slaves in America
I
These photos are amazing. Rest in peace the tortured souls🙏🏻
Ron and Faces of the forgotten family have the very best Halloween!! Thanks for Sharing and much appreciation for all the stories! 🧡🎃🖤👻
A true house of evil . I can only imagine was horrors lurk there.

Why did they kill your grandfather?
The story is one of the brothers of Sarah Cook killed him. The sheriff at that time didn’t like him so the murder was never investigated or solved.
WOAH this is giving me spooky vibes!! .
This is the grand finale for spooky season 🎃😁
The inhumane abuse this evil, vile man put those slaves through is unforgivable!!!😡
Kept this one for today to keep hold of spooky season 🎃. For just a little bit longer. Thank you so much Ron for bringing us all these videos. I've enjoyed each one.
I wish the state had the money to restore it. It would be a cool museum. It definitely needs a lot of work.
The money stays with the politicians and their interests. This is not their interest. So no money.
These ones reach deep into yourheart and soul, and your heart aches for these sweet souls.
OMG! You are in my home county. I graduated from the high school just a few miles away. I also know the family (Sisk) that owned the Crenshaw house. I have been in the mansion, including the attic. My brother spent the night there when he was in Jr. High because he was friends with Sisk family son.
The state doesn’t have the money, but they can waste money on new charging stations on cars that no one is buying
Illinois!!
I agree with you,no flowers and rest in hell, not peace
Houses with secrets are my favorite!! Great story and also thanks for the link on the excavation! Very interesting! You're the best,Ron!! Happy Halloween!!
Happy Halloween to everybody!!!I love the pictures and the music. The music makes the story more interesting and spooky.
Absolutely worth the wait 😳👻🧛🏻🧙💀
Thank you Ron !
Such a creepy evil place! Maybe extensive photos should be taken for documentation and then the place should be torn down. Would the spirits be freed then?
Thank you for the great story Ron! Sad story but also creepy! People were evil even then! Happy Halloween Ron
What an awful, awful life the slsves were subjected to!!! Plus living in the attic had to be so hot! The secrets that were kept, we only know the half of it!
Those poor people, what they went through, so sad. Loved all your Halloween vids, can hardly wait till next year lol!!!
Got my Reese’s cups setting in the freezer… I’m ready! Happy Halloween 👻
lesss gooooo! Reeces is my FAV!!!
That’s my kitten name
This would make a terrific book!
and movie!
“Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil, See no Evil!”. Great show Ron. Happy Halloween.😀
There is an old grave yard in the little town of Equality Illinois.Ive seen graves that date back to the 1830s.My husband knew little George Sisk JR.that inherited the old Slave house from his father. He sold it to the state of Illinois.
Wow1 Fascinating story Ron! Great video!
This evil did not disappear and remain in the DNA today. We see it in the comfort of the continued abuse of humanity today.
@@IchigoOrenracial murder rates? Did you just make that up to support your prejudice views on white people?
Bless you for being honest about what went on in this hellish existence!!
This was epic Ron!! Would be awesome to check this place out! I can see a future video here 🎃
It's a deeply tragic story. Thank you for sharing, Ron. Warm regards from Adelaide, Australia.
Keep pumping out great content ron..
A very sad story. Thank you Ron for sharing this with us. Nobody should have to go through that like they did. Hope they all RIP
May these poor souls find peace.
Happy Halloween Ron absolutely love those Halloween Stories
Hurry Ron!! I can't wait!😊
Love Spooky Storys. I had to Share Your Video with my Facebook Friends. 😊
Happy Halloween 🎃
Excellent piece.. so tragic and upsetting.
So excited!!!
The LORD rubuke all those who hurt the innocent people 🙏🏻Thankyou for another true story at the graveyard
Australia has its dark, cruel past about our First Nation people.😢
Thank you Ron for sharing this story. Your ongoing efforts shed light on subject matters others refuse to tread upon.
Happy Halloween To Everyone 🎃👻🧛🧌🧟🐈⬛🐦⬛🦹
At a Doctor's Surgery {UK} there was a lovely member of staff whom I asked ''Do you have an American accent?''...and she replied ''I sure do...a Deep South American accent''.. She moved from USA and has lived in Europe for many years. It is unthinkable that her relatives were once brought to USA as enslaved workers.
UK as well has a slave trading history, West Indies.
Modern slavery still goes on, sadly. Cannabis farms, and se* slavery. {The city here did an exhibition of modern slavery}.
well Ryan Murphy should do a horror epic on this for his American Horror Story franchise !
I grew up just a little North of there. The house used to be open, and I visited there a few times. It is now owned by the State of Illinois. The family, of course, refutes this story.
of course they do.
Yeah, they claim that the small rooms on the top floor were for borders that traveled thru
Happy Halloween one day late. May all of these poor victims RIP ♥💐
That was such a scary story. Gives me the jitters.
Great episode! Thank you for keeping history alive and memorable!
The best story for Halloween Ron... you did a great job especially drone loved it .... Happy Halloween 👻🎃... Ron and have a good new month of November!! 🍁🍂🦃
What a beautiful lady of Nosy Be. So cruel nasty people, wanting the power over others. Thank you so much. May God bless their souls.
Thank you Ron and gang for another great Halloween night story.
Happy Halloween 🎃 Thanks for an awesome episode Ron!
Great presentation for Halloween
Happy Halloween Ron, you really made it fun for us again!!!! 🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻
