Guns are not a very efficient way of killing lots of people. Handguns like the 38 spec revolver used in this episode are meant for self defense against 1 or 2 people only.

I love the fact that Eric had a full recovery just one episode later. On the very next episode, his cast is completely off and he seems 100% fine! So unrealistic lol

You must not remember Tipper Gore and her busybody parents group. It’s the reason parental advisory stickers were on CDs and everyone, Nirvana and Too Live Crew to Mortal Kombat and GTA games, were blamed for real-life violence and teen pregnancy (instead of, you know, humans being violent jerks and abstinence-only education). This was before my time too but the moral panic lasted well into the naughts! Good times 🤦♀️
Only 7th Heaven can portray a self-entitled white male attempted murderer motivated by romantic jealousy with easy access to a firearm... and still blame gun violence on video games.

If I remember correctly, the TV Guide ad for this episode actually spoiled its climactic scene, blatantly stating that "tonight, someone will shoot Eric Camden"...also, Johnny is played by Jake Richardson, whose best-known credit before then was as harmless Peter Hatcher on the Saturday morning sitcom Fudge, and he'd also just completed a role in the Disney made-for-video film Honey We Shrunk Ourselves.

My sister was enthralled by this show when she was like 8 or 9 years old. I'm in my mid 20's but even at this age, this show is a cluster fest of confusion. How did children this young even pay attention and/or have the ability to keep up with the plot of each episode of this show?
No male teens watched this show for any other reason than to rub it out to Mary and Lucy. At least that was my justification for the trash lol.
I remember a friend of mine in elementary school liking this show and I watched it once or twice at her house after school, but I thought it was super boring, probs bc there wasn't any Shadow Realm or adolescent genetically modified ninja turtles

I actually wish I watched this show. I actually watched a show called Picket Fences, now that show was really ridiculous. That show was my guilty pleasure. It gave Don Cheadle a big career boost, he was awesome. As for this show, I probably would have watched it if it didn't have heaven in the title. LOL. That's how I was in the 90's.
