It's called Ramadan Pide as it is traditionally used for breaking fast after sundown in the month of Ramadan. It's possibly the most beautiful tasting bread you will ever try. Nobody cuts it with a knife though! The reason for putting the shapes into the dough with your fingers is so you can tear it apart with your hands and just stuff it into your mouth on its own. Pure heaven..

I'm excited to make this. Your recipe calls for 3 cups a flour during the second time. Your video shows you adding 4 cups of flour. I went with the recipe, 3cups. Wewill see how it turns out. Thank you.
@@blessedeternally2666 it turned out well. However, when turning the dough out onto the counter I did use quite a bit of flour to keep it from sticking to everything as the dough was very sticky. So, I think if you add more flour in the mixing process you would use less flour when you turn it out on the counter. I don't know if I would add 4 cups into the moving process, but maybe 3.5 cups. And then as needed when you turn it out on the counter.

Traditionally, this was a special bread done in Ramadan months where Muslim believers stopped eating and fasted for the entire day. The bread is called "pide" or "ramazan pidesi" which means Pide of Ramadan (month). I suggest people to try, it is extremely good to make sandwich. Don't forget the tea :) It is also used in some of the Turkish kebabs as a base to soak the delicious sauce/fat while sitting under the meat/kebab.

Beautiful work! Two questions: After activating the dough, you say to add 3 more cups of flour; but the video shows you adding 4. How many is correct? Also, is the oven temperature 250 celsius?
@5:16, with "add one egg yolk", I think it is like the flour. It seems that one egg yolk is added, but with showing two different angles. Perhaps the flour is 3 cups, but one of the cups added is shown from another angle? Yes, confusing. But the video & written instructions say 3, so going off past recipes, I would say she added only 3 cups of flour. And yes, safe to assume baking at 250 celsius/ 482 fahrenheit.
It's 3 cups for a grand total of 4 cups. Another cup of flour and it would be far too dry...and only one yolk for the flour/water/egg wash to brush on the surface. Just follow the instructions here and your results should be great, mine were. Of course there are always variables such as yeast/flour quality, rising time and variances in oven temperature accuracy. I baked at about 450f (480f or nearly 500f seems a little excessive for parchment paper) for 16 mins and it turned out great...and even though it isnt explained well, I added a small metal container of water underneath the baking sheet...not sure what that does but the results were fantastic.

Beautiful work! Two questions: After activating the dough, you say to add 3 more cups of flour; but the video shows you adding 4. How many is correct? Also, is the oven temperature 250 celsius?

@5:16, with "add one egg yolk", I think it is like the flour. It seems that one egg yolk is added, but with showing two different angles. Perhaps the flour is 3 cups, but one of the cups added is shown from another angle? Yes, confusing. But the video & written instructions say 3, so going off past recipes, I would say she added only 3 cups of flour. And yes, safe to assume baking at 250 celsius/ 482 fahrenheit.
It's 3 cups for a grand total of 4 cups. Another cup of flour and it would be far too dry...and only one yolk for the flour/water/egg wash to brush on the surface. Just follow the instructions here and your results should be great, mine were. Of course there are always variables such as yeast/flour quality, rising time and variances in oven temperature accuracy. I baked at about 450f (480f or nearly 500f seems a little excessive for parchment paper) for 16 mins and it turned out great...and even though it isnt explained well, I added a small metal container of water underneath the baking sheet...not sure what that does but the results were fantastic.

Да я сама пробовала печь на воде, но с яичком и раст маслом, получалось не айс , а тут ни яйца ни масла
