We focus much more on weaving Scourge Strikes and Death Coils back and forth, this leaves this CD in a place where it's very frustrating to play with its ramping effect. I really hope Blizzard would have rather baked it in with Unholy Assault and just had the Gargoyle buff us with Unholy Frenzy for as long as it lasts, and that would be a nice change as we would be removing yet another GCD in our opener because Gargoyle is of the GCD unlike Unholy Assault, plus it has range to it, so it can be used more flexibly unlike UA.
Been doing heroics all night ran into a few dks frost would do aoe million and single target 1.1 nut unholy did 2.5 mill dps aoe and 1.8 on bosses ut was crazy im hopeful for unholy like in the good ole cata days
I am chasing a fantasy here, so I have a question: if I was to pick Defile & Improved death coil for a disease build (be it mythic or raid.. but let's assume it's the M+ build to somewhat justify defile) what talents should I sacrifice so I don't gimp myself too much? Really hope you can answer, haven't played in ages..

Unholy feels insanely strong right now but also kind of off with its animations or sounds? Feels like every move has a huge delay between activation and the animation/feedback that it went off
I love how were moving in a different direction but somehow these changes makes us middle of the pact now. Even watching how frost is pumping 500k overall in st and while unholy is more consistent it lacks that ummf feel. We stay at like 380-450k in a 3 min fight. While bm hunters frost dks and warriors jump right past us in meters. My overall grade for unholy is A for m+ and C- for raid

It was a simplified statement. You generate so many wounds you usually have at least one wound up. If you have no wounds, prioritise not overcapping Runic Power
do love unholy but man it feels like you need another eye to track buffs/debuffs and another hand keep up the APM. and i know w/a are a thing but if you need an addon just to play a class fully it needs looking at IMO.
lmao, if you want playstyles to not require half decent APM/awareness and tracking w/a's (any one utilizing them will beat you in any spec in current wow) go play vanilla, because thats a stupid take.

I chose to dust off my DK and level it up but holy shit, is the rotation really supposed to be this convoluted? I'm used to older iterations of DK (Cata/MoP) and all the buff/debuff uptime and near permanent resource capping of Unholy is SO stressful. Makes me not want to continue investing time into it because it's just way too much. Like even in the video it seems like runes are nearly always off CD to the point where it doesn't even feel good to spam SS because you're also always near the RP cap. The thing that worries me the most is that it isn't even only Unholy DK either. My main is mage and looking at all the changes they made to Arcane/Fire makes me not want to return at all. Why do all of these rotations need to be so extremely convoluted with a million spinning plates you need to keep whirling around :/
@@gentle_singularity I already practiced the rotation on a dummy before I made my comment and you're right, it is not difficult to understand. But it damn well is unnecessarily convoluted and stressfully tight of a rotation. And I'm not the only one who feels this way since Max made a similar comment about resource capping putting him off from wanting to play the spec. Even the 3 DK mains in the vid made comments regarding there being too much unnecessary stuff going on at times with one of them even suggesting the flat out removal of Festering Wounds to help simplify the rotation just a tiny bit. I guess I'm just not a fan of these modern hyperactive rotations. It's gotten to the point where it feels like they've complicated the specs for the sake of complicating the specs instead of making a coherent playstyle. At least back in Legion there was coherence to the chaos. Nowadays it's "oh people enjoyed this mechanic from Legion? add it to the rotation. oh and people enjoyed this other mechanic from SL? add it to the rotation as well!" - without any consideration if both those mechanics even flow well together. It's become a mess.
@@QPoily Well they actually pruned some abilities with WW. Also, resource capping isn't a big deal for Unholy when you're just trying to upkeep wounds. Like it's okay to use Festering Strike even with max Runic Power to get some wounds up. To me, I actually find Unholy more relaxing to play than Frost. That being said, Death and Decay being an aura would make both specs feel so much better.

Lol it really isn't hard to understand. Every rotation video makes it seem hard but once you practice yourself on a dummy, it's easy to pick up.
