    Maybe the selling point of the tallness of the 24 is that Yeti also wants to appeal to the consumer that drinks wine because wine sales are very strong. They already know that the diehards are going to buy whatever they put out, but also want to attract new buyers and get them hooked too lol They also have shareholders to answer to. Just my theories, I am probably wrong lol

      Hey Paul, no I actually think you are correct and I was just trying to be funny in my video about that. The other roadie 20 would never be able to hold a bottle of wine or a 2 liter of Coke without laying it down so I do think this is a strong selling point and will attract new buyers. Great call out and thanks for the comment.

    Well presented, thank you JD!! Just received this as a Xmas gift from my son for me to use out on the freshwater when I'm out Bassin' on my 21 ft. Skeeter bass boat. At first, I knew it was Quality, and not an inexpensive gift. Next, I was a little skeptical because there's just not a bunch of available floor space in a bass boat, and certainly I wasn't going to be able to put it in any of the storage areas, which are primarily designed for my fishing rod setups and tackle, so the floor would be the only option. For most of the year I get buy without a lot of fuss with my lunch and drinks, but come the hot summer there's the absolute need for ice and much extra beverage. I've decided its a no brainer, and I'll happily give up the floor space necessary to thoroughly enjoy this beautiful cooler, which I trust (yet untested) will be better than anything I've ever experienced! I ain't drinking beer out there, so I'm going to splurge for one of them dry baskets as xtra insurance that my food & snacks won't get soggy! Thanks again for the nice review! I like the way you rock, so I've subscribed to your channel.

      Thank you Bruce!! Really appreciate the feedback. You will love the cooler and it’s worth the sacrifice of some floor space in the skeeter! Thank you for subscribing and for commenting on the video! Happy New Year!! JD.

    I’m looking for a cooler in this size range and price that keeps ice four times longer than than a $50 cooler. Unfortunately it seems that what you get is styling, build quality and marginal better ice retention. Got to love the $50 seat cushion.

      Hey KG, another viewer made a comment about Lifetime coolers, may want to check them out. I have always been happy with Yeti products and coolers, no complaints on my end except for the steep price tags. Hope you find what you're looking for. JD

    Jd I like the new coolers I have a 24 foot pontoon and it fits perfect in a space by the rear seats it don’t have carpet on the floors and no matter where I set it it want slide when I get in rough water . But it is heavy full no doubt. It will fit perfectly in my Jeep as well and is not top heavy and want turn over like some when it’s full them rubber feet grips good and keeps it where I put it holds ice all weekend. Going to but one more and just keep it in my boat . Great cooler but is heavy full be safe jd

      @JDOffline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Randy I was wondering if it would be top heavy so good to know!! 24 foot pontoon?? Let me know where and when the party is, I'll bring the beers!!!

      Yeah it's a great cooler. I personally like this one better than the old Roadie 20 but many complain about the lack of a drain plug. On a cooler this size you really don't need one although I see both sides. Enjoy! JD

    Hey speaking of Yeti stuff, I picked up the Daytrip lunch bag the other day. Been using it for a week, not sure how I feel about it yet. Got the 1lb ice block to go in it. It doesn't seem to last as long as I had expected, even in the air conditioned break room at work. I do like pretty much everything else about it, though. Especially not having a zipper to break or come unsewn from the bag.

    • @JDOffline
      @JDOffline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Justin, honestly not sure how I feel about the lunch bag and I don't have a use for it which is why I haven't purchased it. Glad to see you took a chance on it. Give it time and let us know how it holds up and how you like it.

    Have five different size coolers already in the $50 range. They work just fine. I can usually buy expensive tools and just hide them in the garage. My wife has no clue of the cost. Bought a $125 hammer. It’s so nice, I don’t like to hit nails with it. Also have some axes. Same thing…a $200 axe is way too nice to hit on wood. Told some friends since I retired I have been online shopping for tools lately, and watching survival videos (even though I hate hiking, and I’m not f’n carrying anything more than a few steps into the woods). They asked what I bought. I said lately, some German hand tools and a few axes. They asked how many axes I had? I said only four….they said, that is getting weird. Took one of my wicked axes to a camp ground, and of course there is no chopping allowed there, so I couldn’t use it. On the other hand, no way to hide this beautiful Roadie cooler item from the wife. “A $200 cooler” she says? Sometimes you just have to buy things and take the heat year after year…continue to hide the tools though…you have to tell a lot of lies for a strong 37 year marriage!

    I’ve just ordered this in the LE Aquifer Blue color and I’m super excited about it. Do you think the handle would be replaceable with an aftermarket/DIY strap? I’ve not found anyone doing anything like this but I’m fairly crafty and can’t help but wonder…

      @JDOffline  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You'll have to tell me how you like the red. I bought a couple of tumblers in that color and didn't like it enough to buy a cooler although the 24 Roadie looks great in that color and I have been tempted for sure. I think the price is still pretty fair for what you get. My original Roadie I bought back in 2012 is still going strong! JD
