- Our experience embarking the Royal Princess for our Alaskan cruise from Seattle. This was from the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal Pier 91 in Seattle Washington. It was a little chaotic and setup like no other cruise embarkation we have done in terms of luggage drop-off. Watch to see how long it actually took us to get on the Cruise ship.
Thank you for showing the whole arrival/boarding process!
Liked your to the point video. Just what everyone needs.
Thanks, we try to leave out all the stuff people don’t care about but many put in to make the video longer. Just the info I would care about.
Thank you! This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for. I have an upcoming cruise in Seattle and was nervous about not being familiar with the port. I appreciate the time stamps and tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Great idea for showing the time values. Thank you.
I try to show what I care about and I would want to know how long everything took. Thanks.
This is exactly what I sent out in hopes to view today so thank you for this video and your time. Just one quick question if you will please? How do you know what your boarding time slot was or is there one for Princess?
You will pick your check in time when you do online checkin.

Hello! At first, thanks for your sharing It helps me a lot for embarking . I still have a question is where can we get the Princess® Medallion®? thanks for replying
If you are all set with online checkin and in the USA they should mail it to you a few weeks ahead of your cruise. If not, you will pick it up at the port during checkin.
@@TravelwithFligster thanks a lot!
Thanks for the video. Is gratuity expected after waiting in the line for drop off?
I am sure they would like a gratuity but to me I think it’s different than other ports. I had to drag my luggage all the way into the building and then hand it to them and they just put it in X-ray and then I assume on carts. So I didn’t feel the need to tip. I always tip at other ports where they take the luggage from your car or Uber/cab etc. at the curb.
That’s what I figured. I have seen other videos where the porters are there to receive your luggage. I guess it was lunch break for them. lol. I’m glad I saw your video and will know what to do if they are not available. Thank you!
That's an early lunch and the line was very long so it wasn't like a "slow period". We have been on 15+ cruises and this was the first where you didn't give the luggage to the porter at the curb.
Thank you for posting. We leave for our first cruise from this same port in 2 weeks. When was your cruise? Did you happen to notice where those who needed mobility assistance were checking in? Had you pre-ordered your medallion?
We embarked on June 10. Yes we had ordered and already had our medallion. If you need a medallion you go into a slightly longer line where you will get a medallion. I didn’t notice any special checkin for mobility needs. The ramp to the ship was very long, so keep that in mind.
@@TravelwithFligster thank you!
Thank you, we set sail on the 29th. Same boarding time. Would you suggest getting there earlier?
I think getting there a little before 11 is good since if you get there too early you will just need to wait to board. I would recommend grabbing one of those porters and tipping them to take your bags since the bag line was the really long line. The rest went pretty quickly.
@@TravelwithFligster What is a fair tip for the porters?
need you need the barcode on the app during checkin?
We didn’t use the app, we just scanned our medallions.
Did they check visas or passports
Yes they check passports or other valid travel documentation. We are from US so I don’t know about Visas.
