    The super 8 in seatac will take you to the cruise port. Not pet friendly but they do have free WiFi and continental breakfast. You can leave your car there too for a fee.

    I don't want to take business away from any local hotels; however, I do want to advise guests to be very cautious when it comes to walking around pioneer square. It is a problem area. And while Embassy Suites is an extremely nice hotel costing $400 a night, the price of a 3 day cruise, the area is s bit rough.
    Also, it's kind of a good idea to avoid staying in Belltown between bell and Lenora.
    For cruises, stay as close to the water or in the heart of downtown.
    Pine/3rd was a problem corner. So I'd recommend walking down pike.
    I work at 91. And I know it can be awkward to get to. I personally access it from 15th Ave W and walk over the flyover.
    My recommendation: get port valet for your luggage with transfer to the airport. If stating extra days in Seattle, some hotels have shuttles to 91 from the airport. And of course downtown Seattle.
    Although someone in the comment section said they dislike the Double Tree, I know the Double Tree shuttle will take you to 66 or 91.
    NCL/PRINCESS might have a few people at the Westin or Doubletree airport to direct you, I think. I know we have people at the airport. I don't know since I've never worked at the airport nor hotels.
    I mostly just direct people on the terminal, ask to see covid documents, ArriveCan (for Alaska trips), and I have done check in for Princess. But I'm not a Princess employee.
    Similar to airports, cruise terminals have security screening, check in, ground transportation and porters. The porters in cryise ports manually push everything. No big trucks to carry luggage. And the bridge to the ship is called a gangway.
    Unlike airports, cruise lines DO NOT use their own employees to check in guests. A couple striped officers and an I.T. guy will also help oversee the company running the ground operations for their guests. 2ndly, cruise terminals do not not have food vendors. No McDonald's. Especially since cruise season in Seattle is not year around, terminals don't sell food. I'm lucky that at 91 we have a vending machine. We tried to get a food truck but it was only here for a couple weekends.
    This reminds me. Come having had breakfast or brunch. We generally open the doors at 10 am and the while check-in system can take awhile. So do not come with an empty stomach. We are talking Disneyland lines! However, if you arrive around 2 to 2:30pm, you might get a shorter line. But you don't want to miss the ship.
    Also for Alaska, please have your ArriveCan. Unfortunately, cruise ship customer service 800 numbers aren't transparent and tell customers incorrect information saying like ArriveCan is not necessary if you don't get off the ship. This is incorrect. All people entering Canada, which includes being 5 miles from land, must fill out an ArriveCan
    Secondly, please don't show up with only pictures of your passport or ID. Have the actual documents. It's extremely sad abd it disheartens me when guests are denied just because they only had photocopies. Photocopies of a VAX card or test is fine. But passports need to be the real thing.
    Also, please don't write your own exemption letter with MS Word.

    I was informed that the Hampton Inn will pick you up at the airport and then the shuttle to the ship is an additional $8 per person.

    If go the day before or a couple of days before do not do not stay by the airport or in Seattle. Stay outside of Seattle much cheaper rates and better areas. We are staying at Angels of the Winds in Arlington, Wa much mush better

    Sharon do you know anything about The Edgewater Hotel on Pier 67?

    • @deniseharwood9521
      @deniseharwood9521 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edgewater is beautiful. Restaurant is excellent. Kind of pricey, it's a nice treat. Fairly easy walk to all waterfront activities, including cruise port. Downtown Seattle is all uphill from the waterfront so be aware you might want a cab for that.

    Is the Hampton Inn decently priced for an overnight stay? We are going on the NCL Encore next May, and would love to fly in the day before.
    Also, do they provide shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port

    • @SharonatSeaTravel
      @SharonatSeaTravel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We like the Hampton inn for the complimentary breakfast before we go to the Cruise port. I recall it was a good price, competitive at least. We took an Uber to the port..very easy...don't recall a shuttle to the cruise port. Thanks for watching!!

      @@SharonatSeaTravel we are going to stay at Best Western at Pioneer Square. It is only about a 19 minute walk to the pier, which I rather do than spend a lot for a transfer. I promise I'm not a cheapskate, just like being frugal at times, especially when I'm going to be spending money on board and at different Ports

    But what if you don't have a car? Getting to a hotel the night before may have the hidden cost of a cab ride and then the next morning another cab ride.

    Biggest pet peeve on these folks that do reviews of Seattle; They pronounce names wrong! It is Pike Place, NOT Pikes Place. It is Elliot Bay, NOT Elliots Bay.
