For those of you taking the light rail…. Apparently the stop of University Street Station in the future may be called Symphony Station, so it won’t get confused with University of Washington station….. Here is what is anticipated 0ctober 2024… Dear Bonnie, Thank you for contacting Sound Transit (ST) about renaming University Street Station. The ST Board chose “Symphony Station” as the new name for the station. The renaming is anticipated to align with the Lynnwood Link Extension opening.
We used seattle express shuttle from the airport a couple weeks ago. (JULY 2024) for 25 per person 1 way or 45 round trip. It was a great, no fuss way to get there. We cruised Holland America, pier 91.
Thanks for watching! It also is a great way to kill some time away from the hectic airport. Lots of people have bus arrangements to the pier and airport via a travel agent. I didn’t, so this is what I chose to do! I saw a lot and learned even more! 😊😂

We’re doing the same cruise next June (2023) for our anniversary (thanks for mentioning that the Light rail has a wheelchair storage section-my wife is in a chair!)…thankfully we’re coming in the day before from San Diego so we’ve got a hotel the night before that’s reasonably close to Pier 91 but also within walking distance to the Space Needle/museums/ monorail to downtown so we were hoping we could’ve avoided an Uber from Sea/Tac airport--glad we can!
I am glad this helped. One thing you will notice in the downtown area is it is hilly. The pier areas are flat enough but the city sits above that! It definitely will help you with transportation to be at a hotel. They may even have a shuttle to the pier. Ask the front desk. Have a wonderful time’☀️🚢
Keep in mind, it's a pretty good walk from the terminal to the light rail station at Sea-Tac. Something to keep in mind if you're toting a lot of luggage.

As for taking a bite to eat, I highly recommend eating something at the airport if you have time to kill. So good for you for getting your coffee from the airport. Our cruise terminals have no food! There is one little quick service place at pier 91 open until 1pm that is inside of a trailer near the motorized wheelchairs on the "celebrity" / "Holland America" side. They have hot dogs, nachos, and a pulled pork sandwich and an assortment of drinks. It is the metallic trailer with a window. It's very easy to miss since it's surrounded by motorized wheelchairs and the crowd of people congregating at the crosswalks. However, inside of the terminal -- no food vendors. Sorry. Pier 91 used to be a military base, so it's mostly surrounded by industry and warehouses. No restaurants However, if you are already in Seattle the night before and are sn early riser, you might be able to get lunch at Chinooks before your cruise but it's's really pushing it since yhey open at 11:30 AM. You need a 2pm check-in time. And that's pretty late since Holland America and Princess sails st 3pm with terminal doors closing st 2:30pm. If you sail at 5pm, terminal doors are usually open until 4pm, so you could check in first at pier 91 so we know you are at the terminal thsn Uber to Chinooks at noon and still make it on time before terminal doors sre locked. Unlike the airport, terminal 91 closes 30 minutes before sailaway. Hence, for my Princess and Holland America guests, i fo not recommend Chinooks as they may miss sailaway since terminal doors lock at 2:30om (some exceptions like last weekend due to the Microsoft glitch that delayed and cancelled many flights -- Princess left normsl time. Holland America decided to wait until 5:20pm, which was originally delayed until 6pm). So for my HAL/PCL guests, i recommend them to start checking in because PCL/HAL, we will check you in early. RCCL / Carnival / Cunard / Celebrity -- im not sure. Once gangway opens, we can get you to your ships as early as possible to do your muster (Hal is digital, in your stateroom) so you can relax and eat something. Even when guests bring up going to downtown, i hesitate since HAL and PCL is on a time crunch. Abd taking an Uber back and forth and being back by 2pm is a bit risky. With guests wgo ask ablut public transportation, i recommend taking a cab as it even take 15-20 minutes to walk out to the terminal guard shack entrance and walk over the flyway bridge going over the train tracks to 15th Ave W/ and Galer where you catch public transit. And then you need to wait for the bus, which is another 20 minutes and 15 minutes to get downtown. So if use public transit to get downtown and back go the terminal, you need a 2 hour allowance just to take public transit. And if doors lock at 2:30pm, you run the risk of being locked out of the terminal and unable to catch hour cruise. And then joining your cruise at another port is a pain almost $900 per person due to "Jones Act." If you're rich, be my guest. Now the good thing about Royal is that it leaves at 5pm, if i am not mistaken. Don't quote me as i haven't worked on a Royal friday for over a year. So sailaway may actually have changed. If it's still 5pm, and you have an 11 check-in, you msy be able to uber to Chinooks, eat "lunner" and be back before 4pm. What's Chinooks? It is an excellent excellent restaurant with seafood and seafood related stuff. It may be better than ship food.

Tpically, the people greeting are in baggage claim and then they direct you to a portable desk where someone checks off your name, gives you a boarding number and you wait for a bus. Ask someone in baggage claim. They can direct you. The Royal Caribbean representatives wear white shirts, a blue scarf and navy pants. They usually are holding a white lollipop sign, like a shore excursion.
I know there are two areas for ships. I think this was Celebrity and Royal. I believe NCL is Port of Seattle Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal (Pier 66) 2225 Alaskan Way Seattle, WA 98121 Norwegian and Oceania passengers use the Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal. The Port of Seattle's Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal is located just 14 miles from Seattle Tacoma International Airport. Parking is available at the cruise terminal for $24.00 per day Carnival, Celebrity, Disney, Holland America, Princess and Royal Caribbean passengers use Terminal 91.
There will be a new line to Bellevue. The 2 line. It will connect to the existing line at Chinatown station in 2025 and continue north to Lynwood. People can transfer at Chinatown to catch a train to the airport and vise versa.

I don’t this so. You should look online at the train website. It will give you the schedule. I think that may be on a different route.
