Absolutely phenomenal work being a bit of a paint and body man myself no one really appreciates what goes into restoring an old classic, hours and hours and hours of hard graft passion and determination. The end result speaks volumes though top job !!!
I drove this Car in 1977, makes fun but was dangerous for drivers, who did not accept the limmits. I know from the insurance company agency for Ford employes that a lot of buyers crashed the car in the first quarter of ownership. I believe the biggest problem today for this MK2 RS2000 os the polyaurethan nose with no cracks and crums of the foam. The Mk1 Dogbone RS 2000 is here not so problematic.
True labour of love for this classic vehicle. Cracking job, well done. God i miss this era of ford producing this limited production run of RS models, made some really unbelievable vehicles.
Those RS escorts mk1's and 2's were quite a common sight in my part of Essex at one time , often being driven hard . They are definitely a head turner when I see one now Superb job 🙂👍
This video is simply awesome. The editing, the quality, and the information is top notch. Just one question, where can I find a wife with the same passion for cars please 🙂 I owned about a dozen Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts back in the 80's I loved them. I do prefer a flat front Mk2, and the nosecone never really did it for me. The Mk3 Escort (I owned just one of, for about 2 weeks), was such a let down, and I hated it. I switched my brand admiration to BMW at that point, and have stuck with RWD ever since.
I like your approach to drilling our small rot and welding a disc in.Second thing what engine is going back in? The Pinto? I hope so.Not a fan of ploncking ZTecs in mk 2,s.A pinto and weber and a hot cam and happy days.
Well done for having a go Dave, just a little tip, with two pack first cote is always a midst cote, let that tack off then that stickiness will hold the next cote without running,it turned out well though, you can start putting the goodies on now😊
Awesome job, very dedicated and well done. One have to admit that body was in fair shape. Mine was in a 10 times worse shape. Front shock towers, trunk bottom, bottom beams all rotten away, but i guess you know the amount of welding. Nice that rhese RS 2000 are not forgotten. 😊
Looks beautiful I used to love these back in the day when they’d give you one for a few hundred quid but never actually had one and sadly now there outta reach but there still lovely. And this one is now exceptionally beautiful again I bet the owner is very proud of it I would be . Nice job guys 👍
Fantastic work, video was slick, paint finish was top class and a lovely RS2000 in - signal orange? If that was mine the BVR would be removed, not a fan even though they are period option but they can hide all kinds of corrosion once water starts getting through.
Wahnsinns Restaurierung wirklich ein schönes Fahrzeug ich komme aus Deutschland und möchte schon lange einen RS2000 kaufen gibt es noch irgendwo ein schönes Fahrzeug dass man kaufen kann
Really enjoying watching your videos after visiting you whilst working. (Windscreen man) lol. To see your attention to detail is something to be proud off. I Will keep watching your videos. Keep up the awesome work.
Fantastic job well done to both of you. Plenty of hard graft for a stunning result at the end. Another beauty saved. Must be an early one as the nosecone is pre Ford blue oval badge. 👍👍👍
It was a bit longer than 17 mins lol......but good turnaround as it was needed for the NEC sow 2021. These guys had it in June 21 for a few weeks and it was on display in November 2021. Great work 👍
Absolutely superb work on that RS. Is that signal orange? My last RS was in porsche guards red (R reg so it hard to 2,0 badge and FORD on the front, not the blue oval)and if if hadn't been nick and disassembled, I would have still had it today. My all time favourite motor!
Outstanding and beautiful work. I am just curious as to why you decided to paint it in 2K/single stage paint. Is that to keep it period correct? Still an amazing restoration, just a curious painter here.
Thank you! Many reasons for going 2k. First is that it's period correct and the second main one is that if you paint this colour in base and clear it comes out almost luminous!
@@WhitelandRestorations Thank you so much for your response. Outstanding work and its so good to see an amazing classic resroted to such high quality. You have gained a new follower.
Enjoyed the series first time around and great to see this condensed version. I do have to be that guy and ask what track you finish the vid with! Pleaaaase
So that's what that colour red looks like when all the panels are the same colour. My Dad's Mk2 transit was the same colour, at least the front end was. The rest of the panels were more of a matte pink but the front end got a respray at some point and faded differently.
The MKII Escorts seroiusly rusted due to the cheap Steel used in manufacture, in Germany. The cars were seriously rotted out in 8/9 years. The MKI Escorts lasted lomger as they were manufacturedin the UK!
Looks amazing. Great to see such professionalism and dedication to doing a great job. If it's the first ever MKII RS2000 ever produced, what's the production date? Would that be an N or a P plate car?
Skilfully edited, stunning finish on the car. You guys are a seriously underrated channel.

The two of you working together in perfection harmony was worth the watch alone. Add that to what you have achieved and wow!
Thanks Scooterboy that's really kind of you!

I keep saying I want another RS2000,loved mine all those years ago
Oooh might tempt you to hunt one down now....
@@WhitelandRestorations I have been looking,I have a load of bit still from the one I had.Twin 40’s,4x rs alloys.and I think a stage 2 head
And people wonder why a respray costs so much, stunning work, true craftsmanship.
In my country such craftsmanship can not be found anymore. Respect.
wow - just wow, I love the RS2000, and what a colour, thank you for sharing -
Beautiful restoration, looks top notch.
Great music too!
Thanks Marout! Glad you enjoyed 👍
Lovely work, and a great montage with accompanying soundtracks. Drove one of those orange perils in my youth and brings back the memories..... 👍

It is a cool car! Was nice to have a video from start to finish. Think we're going to do more of these after a series os finished 👍
Absolutely stunning!❤️ What a team!
Perfect timing. I just watched this series last night. Great job you two!
Sounds like a stroke of luck! Thanks for watching 😁👍
If that was mine I wouldn't take on to our roads in the UK. Excellent turnaround, you make a great team.
I don't intend to now......I've had 26 years of thrashing it and now it's time for showing it 👍
loving the music from Becky as well!
How many hours do you think that you spent on "a light restoration" of the RS 2000
Donnerwetter wie Geil. Sooo viel Arbeit, aber das Ergebniss, sensationell. Chapeau !!!

Standard Pinto......matching engine numbers. Engine had to have a rebuild seeing as this resto took place 👍

Thanks Lee! I'll have a look at the list and let you know!
Hi what is the orange that you sprayed onto of the white and what's its purpose regards
It was just orange base coat we sprayed on over the white primer. It acts like a high contrast guide coat to help with rubbing the car down.
So that's what that colour red looks like when all the panels are the same colour. My Dad's Mk2 transit was the same colour, at least the front end was. The rest of the panels were more of a matte pink but the front end got a respray at some point and faded differently.

Nice work , but why no black on cills

I thought the back black paint was a satin low sheen sort of finish ,,,
magnifique !

76 on a P plate was the 1st RS mk2
