- How i fixed my IDL 40 dishwasher in 15mins. Kept stopping during wash and then flashing the lights 2 and 4.
Unscrew the screws around the door edge and the front panel will come off. Make certain the power is off and that you are qualified to do this.
If it is the same fault as mine, the thermal paste acted a lubricant together with centrifugal force to make the termal sensor drop out its housing.
Simply slip it back in then use a small cable tie to tie it to the clip and prevent it happening again.
Screw up the dishwasher - job done. Hope this helps!
It’s been 15 years, but you’re still saving us from expensive callouts! Thank you from New Zealand :)
Was told I might need a new PCB but this fixed it! As soon as I took the front off the cable was hanging down. Life saver.
The best solution ever! Worked fine for me.
Men like you are the reason this earth spins well done sir and thankyou
As if this just worked. As I was watching it I thought, "No way it can be just one cable". But then as I put the cable in, it worked. There I was driving with it in my boot to Germany and back so they could fix it and all it took was to watch a 25 second video. Thanks man, ur the best.
Glad it worked for you!
Once again a video on TH-cam has done it. This video has just saved me a call out charge. So easy to fix when you know how. Thanks TH-cam and dot networker
I had the error lights on two and four and you are totally correct. You are a legend! Thank you!
We had two flashing lights - we did what you said and now it ok - thanks - sorted !!!!
Thank you. 5 years on and you're still saving us from grief :O)
AndyMajorClanger never would have guessed it would be so useful to so many - comments make me happy!
You have literally saved me hundreds of pounds! Thank you ever so much for sharing this video!
I saw your Video this morning and on my DL450 I thought I give it a go. There is a similarly shaped thing that was "loose" within its moorings. I pushed it back in and now it has cured the following: After finishing Program 4 it goes automatically and precedes to Program 1 - eh? It did this 3 times over then past 2 days. Anyway, I just did a test, starting on Prog4 and it finishes correctly ON PROG4 too! I'm now thinking that this sensor does more than I realise.
Again - THANK YOU
Thanks for all the emails and comments. It seems many, many people have suffered the same problem, for the two years since cable tying the sensor back on the problem has not reoccurred.
My temp sensor was slightly not in the right position. Adjusted it by a mm and it is now working perfectly. Thank you
Same problem, this helped fix it! Thanks :D
Thanks a lot, you just saved another callout !!
Mate you are a legend cheers man and thanks worked perfect
Your video helped me too! Thanks man! Great job!
You are amazing!
Thank you so much for this! It totally worked!
Sort of comment that cheers up my day!
muchisimas gracias, lo he colocado, pero no le he puesto abrazadera, la proxima vez que me vuelva a pasar se la pondre, lo que he hecho es ajustar mas la abrazadera metalica que viene.
Spot on. Save me a few Buck here. Cheers
Sorted! 100% correct.
I have the same blinking lights, thermostat is clipped in, still blinking lights, not solved for me. Any other ideas?
Maybe you can help me with my dishwasher idl40. The washing program works and when it has to clean only with water (third light) it stops and light 4 is flashing. The pump is working but sometimes there is water/foam and rests of the cleanig tab on the ground of the maschine. Greetings from Germany
