Thank you. I’ve been putting off doing my Musselburgh hat since last September, and now it’s March 27, lol, because I did not know how to cast on. Thank you again

Sometimes a project needs to percolate for a bit! Now you'll have a nice cozy Musselburgh for THIS September! :D

@@BrooklynTweed_Official At least one! I have 314 Hanks of sock yarn, most of which I don’t know what to do with. I’m thinking an awful lot of those are gonna become Musselburgh hats! 🤣

Thank you that was great. I’ve been knitting for 70 years and there are still new things to learn.

Thank you! So much easier than fumbling with a crochet hook.

Took me a few rewinds to make sure I got it, but I successfully cast on 10 stitches! Great tutorial!

I decided to make knit Christmas balls for each of my grandkids. This cast on is perfect and I’ll be using it for other projects!! 😃

Very nicely demonstrated! I watched another demo that was not nearly as clearly taught--well done!

My 100% superwash DK merino wool arrived this weekend & I've started the Musselburgh hat utilizing your tutorial! Excellent teaching video with clear instructions, demonstration and close up filming of what exactly you're doing so we can follow along. Thank you so much! Liked & subscribed. ^_^ I'm well on my way to having a beautiful hand knitted wearable now.

Great video and explanation! I have a question though, when you start knitting in pattern do you need to join in the round? If so, how?

Great question! No need to join, since you're creating the round with the cast on!

This is a great video! It's so clear! I do have one question - what does your tattoo say? I've watched 3 times trying to see that! :)

Thanks so much! Mary's tattoo is a quote from artist Jenny Holzer: "IN A DREAM YOU SAW A WAY TO SURVIVE AND YOU WERE FULL OF JOY."

Hi Jacquie! You can slow down the playback speed under Settings so that you can watch in slow motion. Happy knitting!
