yeah I'm glad he's more comfortable with sharing more facts (not even revealing or significant facts, just random fun interesting bits) about himself after the doxxing scares
@@crowsinatrenchcoat0 I'm also a new fan but 10 years ago his phone number, name, address, was all getting posted to comments, in livestream chats, and on Reddit. People sent mail to his family. All the information has been successfully taken down but it scared him and a lot of other Hermits
@@Tenko125 yes in vary rare occasions in the past, and always unannounced, but he hasn't done it for a while because he says he'd feel the need to be constantly entertaining. I think the doxxing happened in other people's live streams though
fanboying for etho will never not be fine, i've been watching him since 2012 and I'm only 23, literally half my life watching etho and my love has never stopped
lol reminds me of the quote from finding nemo, “it’s like he’s trying to speak to me, i know it… listen you’re really cute but i don’t know what you’re saying!”
I’m a 53 year old Etho Fanboy and when Etho shows up in any other Hermit’s video, it’s like adding hot fudge, whipped cream, bananas and nuts to plain old vanilla ice cream. Oh dang. Now I want a sundae. Get episode guys. Next Friday could come soon enough.
I’m so glad I’m not the only Gen Xer playing Minecraft! 😂 My kids got me hooked during the pandemic and now I play more than they do. Lol! But gaming together is such a fun way to bond with the adults kids once they are out of the house. (My son in law is the one who turned me into an Ethogirl. It’s contagious.)
POV: you're a kid, hanging with your dad at the supermarket, hoping to maybe get some candy or a toy, something fun. You ask if you can get a candy bar, your dad pretends to say no but you both know that he will buy it for you. Oh boy, what a good day, a candy bar and maybe later some Minecraft videos next to the fireplace during this cold Canadian winter. Then suddenly, behind you, you hear a conversation with another cashier: "Oh sir, this item has a 2x1 discount". "Oh, Snappers!".
I would die lol that would be amazing! I wish I lived in Canada to have even the slimmest chance to come across etho lol. I’m only a Great Lake way from Canada tho. Would be amazing if ALL the hermits took a trip to cedar point tho! 😂
It has been a while, but I believe Etho was working at his family’s greenhouse or nursery or something of that sort and it was one of the customers he was helping that he is talking about here. May be misremembering that a bit, but I think it is right. Comes from one of his let’s play episodes a x amount of years ago.
31:15 etho always says “we”. this is why we love him. he always includes his audience and it’s so endearing! but i’ve never noticed that if he makes a mistake, he makes a conscious effort to exclude “us” and he takes full blame…. what a fantastic creator.
I was confused by how Etho was talking about all the stuff "we" did the first time I watched an Etho Plays Minecraft video. He was doing a world tour and sharing some of the things we built, and I was like "...isn't this a solo let's play?" I figured out that he was referring to the viewer participation and engagement before the end of the video. It felt very real and sincere when he stopped to read some of the books where he answered comments from TH-cam. Now it's one of my favorite things about how Etho interacts with his audience. It feels very considerate and mindful. It's just nice to be included.
It fascinates me that the man who has such a passionate fan-base thinks he lacks charisma. Thank you, Impulse & Skizz, for having Etho on your podcast, and thank you, Etho, for agreeing to do it.
Etho is such an understated icon. I love his humility, kindness, trollish mischief, chill vibe (all of which sound contradictory but he does embody them all), & his flavor of silly. Also, he has the best laughter 😂
It's like a gentle embellishment instead of full blown "costume" 😅 it's nice! And also I feel like if I had to put on a voice, it would take a lot of energy, I'd never be able to keep it up
I think it's wrong to call a "youtuber voice" inauthentic. A "youtuber voice" is nothing special but rather just a presentation voice that people everywhere use when they are saying something to an audience.
One of the best moments ever is Impulse streaming... I think in season 6? 5? When impulse was doing the huge water base he rebuilt multiple times through the season, and he is chatting with his viewers and Etho's name comes up and he talks about how amazing it is playing on the same server and fan girling about Etho... and then Etho reveals he is watching the stream... and Impulse turns bright red and hides from the camera for a few seconds.
It was season 7 :) There are 2 clips that I made. The first clip is Impulse's top clip of all time. If you got to Impulse's twitch, filter the videos by clip and then refine it by "Top ALL" (it defaults to Top 24h), you'll find the first clip. #1 is called "Am I really playing on a server with Etho? [I'm] still in shock." - Impulse 2020, while Etho lurks" #2 is called "Now I've said way too many good things, he's going to use it against me when we play Among Us!", just scroll down the page a little, search for a phrase in the title or find the clip that has 1.3k views.
What Skizz said about him being a bad Minecrafter but a good TH-camr is pretty true, and it's one of the things that made me really excited about this Hermitcraft season. Whereas I think Joel benefits a lot from joining Hermitcraft (he does really large building projects and loves messing with his friends but doesn't necessarily always vibe with massive role-play), Hermitcraft itself benefits a lot from Skizz joining. I feel like a lot of Hermitcrafters (at least the past couple seasons) have been trying to push the envelope and take on projects that are bigger, more impressive, and newer. This is genuinely great and I enjoy watching that growth, but it's refreshing to have this one dork who's average at every game skill others have specialized in and whose main draw is how he has so much pure fun interacting with everyone else and being himself. He's not trying to push the boundaries of redstoning or building or anything. I guess it's a destination vs journey mindset, where I feel like Skizz is going to savor the journey when some other people might rush from one monumental destination to the next. Maybe that's all just me, though, idk.
Etho's comment section is my favorite. So many of the comments are genuinely thoughtful feedback. Not much negativity. It makes me feel welcome to engage in the community. 36:13
I agree with Imp and Skizz saying they think people recognize his voice more often than he thinks. I believe that we as his audience respect his desire to stay anonymous. That stems from him respecting us as is audience and truly allowing us into his world.
It could also be that Etho lives in the middle of literally nowhere according to some of his recent reveals in season 10 chats with other Hermits - not that many people to recognize him.
Canadians (at least more rural ones), like Mainers, respect famous folks and treat them like anyone else. We don't fangirl in person... They deserve their space. That's how we're raised.
I'm pretty sure I'd recognise Etho's voice if I overheard it in a store... and I would probably be secretly staring from a distance trying to be sure, and I'm not certain I'd be able to resist asking, but I'm literally an old woman, not terribly threatening and I'd be extremely quiet and discreet about it.
I love listening to you guys talk, but I felt like this style of long rambling questions works with people like Scott and Jimmy who are naturally very outgoing, not with shy people like Gem and Etho, where it felt very imbalanced- It felt like you guys were trying to 'fill the empty space' after your questions too much with your own stories and experiences instead of letting them think for a little bit more. It's okay to let the question stand on its own. I also feel that way about answers, when guests pause a little bit to think, you guys immediately interject with your own tangents, which again I don't usually mind but it does feel disappointing when I'm so excited to hear their complete answers! It's tough adapting your interview style to suit different guests, I completely understand!! I appreciate the work you do regardless! I experience a similar thing as an introvert, it's hard to collect my thoughts before my extrovert friends decide that the few seconds of silence is too uncomfortable for them and immediately change the topic before I can answer. Of course, it's natural for this to happen in conversations, but since this is an interview-style podcast, I think it's worth considering!
Couldn’t agree more. I think this is important to work on if they want to continue interviewing guests and getting better at it - if you have a guest on you really should step back a bit on your own life stories and let the guest take centre stage. For someone like Etho who doesn’t have long answers, be ready to just ask follow-up questions instead of immediately jumping into long expositions of your own answers to the question.
This is not wrong. However, remember that these guys are not only conducting an interview, but they are doing so without looking at etho. the visual queues are not there these guys are sitting on a couch and staring at some cameras, these aspects make it difficult to moderate yourself. good take though!
If Skizz happens to read the comments: I like how the thumbnail looks like it could be a still from the video, reminding us of an etho video! We see the clever things you do!
This video actually made me change the way I thought about TH-cam comments. I assumed there was no way big creators would read my specific comment, so I didn't see the point. Knowing you guys read hundreds or more of them motivates me to try to leave more comments.
I love how at the end they asked him, explained why they asked him, changed the subject, talked about themselves, ended the episode, and he let them do it and kept silent 😂
I love the way you can tell the questions are designed carefully so as to retain Etho's boundary of privacy, while still digging into interesting conversation 🥰
@@Griev2 Tbh I think that's just the way these three naturally are. Gem and Grian always say in Phasmo that Skizz just can't stop yapping (lovingly). I wouldn't jump to any conclusion that they wouldn't let him talk more. We don't know if Etho was just more comfortable this way or whatever. Honestly, I've just come to assume that if any of these people truly have an issue with something, they'll talk it out. If not, then it's not as big of a deal and they let it slide. No hard feelings. They're all adults
No WAY that was an hour, it went by so fast! Oftentimes I'm watching Etho and thinking, 'does he have any idea how LOVED he is??' Its cool to find out he does know, he's just a humble king! Can't wait for the next part :)
One of my favorite Etho videos was the Deck Out 2 runs he narrated over because he was sick when he filmed them. So much fun to hear his thought processes as he played. It was like a master class in game strategy.
@@monkey5266 Hermitcraft Season 9 #21 and 22. I think 21 was more about how he runs the dungeon and 22 is where he talked more about the points game to win. Very cool to just listen to him talk about the game while he was running it in the background.
We're all just ethogirls am I right? I was kicking my feet in the air the whole video😭😭😭 I have no idea why etho thinks he wasn't charismatic I've felt like this since the beginning. This dude was mischievous even in the beginning, seeing him just get more and more confident was so satisfying to see throughout the years
Hey guys, this was a great discussion. But would have liked to hear more from Etho. You guys are great at making guests feel comfortable, but at the same time, by giving your own stories that takes up a lot of the time and discussion. I'd like the balance towards guests to be increased just a bit more.
I agree. This episode felt really different from the other interview episodes in that I feel like Etho has less opportunity to speak than say Mumbo, Gem, X, or the others.
I've just realized that whenever I see a thing about Etho, I have Tango's voice in the back of my mind going, "Ooh, Ethooo!" like he do whenever Etho logs on during a Hermitcraft stream. 😂
34:07 Awwwww... its honestly so sweet that Etho cares that much about the comments. Just goes to show that he really does TH-cam for the sake of us as much as him. Also, it keeps the comments nice and engaged. I've seen people say that Etho has the last true comments section on the platform, and sometimes it really does feel like that. When everyone knows that feedback is valued, participation is so much more genuine.
Finding out Etho was even trolling in the early days is not at all surprising. 😂 I love him even more now. There is something about the combination of Ethos silliness, intelligence and humbleness that makes him completely timelessly entertaining. ❤
One of the best jokes Etho ever did was his response to Skizz's Words of Affirmation. Skizz gives this whole spiel about Etho's humbleness and Etho's response is: I'm just the most humble person in the world. That's actually an absolutely amazing oxymoron and it only works with that particular phrasing.
when Etho said "nowadays people are just showing things a lot more, you take it in but you don't include yourself in the process" it felt so good because he articulated something I've been feeling about modern day minecraft videos for so long
I am very disappointed that you guys didn’t use the Skizz Interpretation of Etho for his icon /lh. Jokes aside, thank you SO MUCH Imp and Skizz for getting such a hero onto the podcast!
Guys! Pls do a part two ! And maybe this time try to invert the ratio of you two talking and let Etho talk more ! From a 3rd person perspective it felt like 3 buddies hanging out asking themselves deep questions and responding on the fly, but I would have loved to hear more of Etho and have the interview more Etho-oriented. By that I mean that in the way you interact with him in this episode you're a lot in "Oh it's fascinating I feel the same/I feel different and here's a story about blablabla" mode, which gives a rich conversation with 3 POVs but imo doesn't put enough emphasis on Etho and what's his experience is like, which is what I was really really interested in as a viewer. For example I would have loved to have him unravel about how does he keep his motivation going after 13 years on the same world. It felt like such a rich topic to dive into and was cut super short to jump onto another thing. So a second part where your intentions lean more towards "How do we make him rebound/keep him unfolding these stories about his YT experience, himself, etc. ect." and actively give him more space would be a treat ! Now that I've mentionned my frustration, I wanna thank you VERY MUCH for this still very interesting conversation between the 3 very cool and unique creators that you are. Much love Edit : just watched the end, guess I’ll be back next week routing for pt3&4 🤓
Etho, please don't ever stop bringing us along with you on your journey. We love that you say "we" when you're the one that did everything! 💜 Impulse, we're never making fun of you. When chat says things like that, it's because people are happy to be a part of your stream. 💛 Skizz, my life (my family's life) is better because you're a part of it. There's nothing like laughing together to bring us closer. 💙
Agreed with you there! :D imp and skizz, you guys are too hard on yourselves man. We love ya. Etho’s right, because the viewership are such a broad range of ages and backgrounds, it can seem like we’re a bunch of rowdy kids on a school bus, we don’t ever mean to cause hurt or stress to you guys. I for one definitely don’t view myself as a boss or client. That’s weird. Also, if Etho sees this, please do an asmr voice in your next video hahaha.
I think people in general understand the "youtuber voice", because we have those same kinds of "voices" out in the world. Its just called a "phone voice" or "customer service voice". You guys are putting out a product. The special "Voice" makes complete sense.
the way Skizz talks about his Minecraft skills got me. Like sure he may not have the same skills as a lot of the other hermits but his people skills are amazing. He’s fun to watch. He brings something to the table that is hard to find.
I've been gradually working my way through his lets play (from the first season) and the difference in his voice/delivery is CRAZY. so cool to see him gradually becoming more like the etho we know today :) im on episode 149 right now and there's sooooo many episodes to go... im still 12 years in the past
With the cut at 27:40, I'm assuming it's because something in etho's answer was more personal than he wanted to offer to the world, which I completely respect. I just wonder, why keep the initial question in so that we are sort of left hanging?
I heard from another commenter that it was actually left out due to technical issues but it is weird that the editor decided to leave the question in lol.
Yeah that's unfortunate as I was very much looking forward to the answer to this question, as after 13 years in the same world it must be pretty hard to come up with new ideas
One of the things many forget to point out that even while you are creating content for others enjoyment is that the creator needs to enjoy it as well. Constantly playing a character different from themselves will be tiring and overwhelming at times, I personally enjoy watching people who can be themselves. It’s comforting to know that this creator is not only a character but a real person who has real emotions and opinions. I never post comments but for once I felt the strive to join the community.
Shh, trade secrets! As far as I remember though Etho has sort of answered this question before and a lot of it comes from having lots of unfinished projects and regularly starting new ones. Combine that with taking healthy breaks and the benefit of having a developed world (resources and tools to build anything in survival) and you get a solid recipe for a long running minecraft world to truly live in!
The last question made me realise that I never paid attention to etho’s thumbnails, it just became a reflex to watch them since his videos always makes me feel better
OMG ACTUALLY ETHO ON A PODCAST THATS SO COOL! i love how he is literally the most caring and nice dude but he is just such an actual hermit. i've loved seeing him colab more with other people and him opening up more. Glad he feel comfortable to do it as well. Etho we love you and you're doing an amazing job :D
I am a 55 year old hermitcraft fan boy. I typically watch the videos usually days or weeks late to keep up with them. but this show has made me realize that I use these creators to feel a void in my current life. they make me laugh. I love the interaction more than the builds. thank you for the crutch.
For Imp. The way I got into MC is exactly like you. My son asked for help about 7 years ago (during season 6), wanted to make an auto sorter. I was like "you can do what in this game?!! Search YT, I find your tutorial about item filters...Same day I got my own MC account. Watched more of your vids and was introduced to Hermitcraft. The rest is history. My world is 3 years old I try to log in a couple times a week when life allows. My son and I built his dream PC for Christmas and I don't think he even has MC installed. So he stuck me with this addiction and left me alone on our smp. But I am glad I found a hobby to clear my head and enjoy doing and thankful for all the enjoyable fam friendly content you all produce.
I’ve watched the gang since I was in middle school, I’m 25 now. I just want to say that each of the individual members of hermitcraft, the current and former members, have taught me so much. Not only how to make the fastest horse in Minecraft, but also how to be myself! Each of the unique personalities and quirks of the hermits taught me that you could be part of a group no matter who you are. I just wanted to write this comment to say thank you for all the work y’all do! It’s one of my guilty pleasures to distract me from the things going on in the world. I started watching when I was just a nerdy little kid who’s biggest concern was whether or not my mom was going to let me get Redbox movies on Friday. Now I feel as though it’s my responsibility along with my peers to make this world a better place, and I just want to say the hermit community has taught me how to love and accept others for who they are!
This is such a treat, bless you impulse & skizz for inviting etho (and obviously thank you etho for joining). It's always so lovely to hear that the hermits really appreciate each other and as a long time viewer (most of us have been here for 10+ years), it's unbelievably heartwarming to share this experience with mcyts we look up to. And the fact that everyone is so open about their 'fanboying' is so sweet and so human. Awesome podcast, can't wait for the next one!
Yay for the ultimate Etho interview! Agreed that his voice and way of speaking are soothing, and his video style is great. He’s such a humble OG. Impulse, chat is supporting you when saying that about your video voice - not making fun of you. It’s impressive to me that you can turn it on the way that you do! You’re an inspiration for how you are so entertaining on stream, and in your videos. Please realize that we’re on your side. 😊
what i love ab watching etho is that it all just feels very human. i think a lot of that is bc he does allow folks to join him in his thought process and kinda see the way his brain puts the pieces of the puzzle together. it’s also the more casual voice he uses and the cadence and editing style and all. but i think it’s also in the way that it feels we as the viewers are recognized as humans too? since he does read and appreciate comments, he uses the term “we”, and does invite us along with him it just feels a bit more down to earth than other youtuber communities. it’s a lovely lil place to be and i think it’s a great space to cultivate creativity and problem solving which i think etho himself is great at
OMG, that’s unimaginable! You got the ETHO!!! This must be the channel's top chart for a while. Thank you, Imp&Skiz, for bringing one of our best content creators of this century 💯
So as a student of Rhetoric, a lot of this podcast was super interesting. That "TH-camr voice" is exactly what they teach you to do in rhetoric, to be more expressive than a normal conversation because it holds the attention of an audience better, and it get's your point across. As well as the idea of saying "we" instead of "I." You always want to involve an audience in speaking engagements, because that's what people are looking for, the "why should I care?" Saying "we" gives them the sense of involvement and keeps an audience engaged. Additionally, the saying of "I" when you mess up, rather than putting that blame on your audience. Super cool that, as far as I can tell, no one taught any of you that, but that you learned it for yourself.
theres this quote for jeff beck thats like "if hes not your favorite guitarist he's your favorite guitarist's favorite guitarist" that i think applies to etho. if hes not your favorite mc youtuber hes your fav mc youtubers favorite mc youtuber
On behalf of all the Ethogirls, thank you. Thank you for this amazing episode! I have always enjoyed hearing Etho’s mindset and thought process in general (which was pointed out here) and this episode was yet again another peek into that. I am so grateful! ❤️
it was so much fun getting to see this discussion with Etho - I have been a long time viewer of his videos basically since the original lets play and it was so cool to relive the old moments of youtube. I still remember watching him build Wilson as a little kid and thinking it was the coolest thing ever, along with the original world before the pre-release and harvest moon. It's so cool to see what youtube has come in the last decade and a half
Hi Imp and Skizz, I just wanted to thank you guys for this podcast and for just being yourselves. I recently saw my psychiatrist for the first time in 6 months, which just happens to be how long I've been watching this channel, and I realised that for the first time I wasn't actually lying when I told her that I'm happy, and that's because of this podcast. I've been diagnosed with depression for over 6 years now and I've had a really rough time with it, but without even realising it at the time, I've noticed just how much this podcast has changed my life. When I'm watching, I don't realise just how much of what you say affects me and actually changes my mentality. Since finding this podcast I've started university doing a degree in physics and I'm getting all distinctions and I 100% believe that it's thanks to you guys for honestly saving my life. I'm beyond grateful for everything you guys have done and I feel so blessed to have found this podcast and have had it to help me through quite a few particularly bad moments. You're both so amazing and I'm so glad you have the audience that you do where you can share your positivity.
The explanation of Etho's videos as cozy feels so right! I've only started watching his videos recently, but they just make me want to make a happy cup of tea and watch on a rainy day.
Great podcast! The point that resonated with me was Skizz talking about the feeling he gets when Etho is part of the conversation. Personally I found the TH-cam world in 2016 when things were very stressful. I hooked into content creators like Etho, VintageBeef and PauseUnPause(TeamCanada). Having a library of their content helped me immensely. It brought me to other great creators, but I know watching any Etho or TeamCanada video will always make me smile and bring me a sense of peace.
Love this episode! I especially love hearing that Impulse and Etho read all their comments and really get a lot of good out of that, I often think of something to comment but then I dont because I just have this underlying assumption that it won't matter. That being said, I have some constructive criticism for this episode - it's frustrating when one of you spends a long time asking Etho a question, then he responds with maybe one remark to that question, then the other one cuts in and starts talking about whatever they were thinking of, and everyone moves on and Im left wondering what Etho's answer to the question would have been. It happened at least a few times this episode, but for example when Impulse was asking Etho about if his family had a hard time understanding what he did, then Etho responded with "Oh yeah, thats something that gets brought up quite frequently actually", and instead of letting Etho elaborate on that, Impulse kept talking about how its happened to him a lot with strangers and what-not, then asked about if it happens with strangers. I wanted to hear Etho talk about what his family thought, at least like let him tell a funny story or something! I get that you guys were super excited to have Etho on and you were fangirling (especially you, Skizz 😉), and ik youre probably reading this after the second episode was already recorded, so ik theres no adjusting to criticism between episodes. You guys are learning and growing as podcast hosts, and honestly youre doing an amazing job stepping up your game as bigger stars come on. Sorry this was a long-winded comment, thats the other reason i dont leave comments on videos 😂 hope my criticism goes over well with you, cheers
A constructive criticism that requires thoughtful consideration, especially with less expressive guests, and polite Canadians. Etho takes time to "rev up the engines," but when he does... (e.g. the roleplay during an impromptu PvP session at Gem's arena on the beach was like a bird spreading its wings). Interviewing the guest, rather than sharing stories -- an idea for another format where multiple guests are invited to discuss a theme where you could riff off each other.
Crazy to think I've been subbed to his channel for 13 years at this point (April 24th, 2011 according to TH-cam API). I stopped play the game in 2013, but I always enjoyed seeing the things Etho would come up with from a creative and technical standpoint.
Soooo happy to see Etho on the podcast. Very curious what happened at 27:40? Very strange cut at Imp's question to Etho. I was really looking forward to his answer. Maybe that whole question should've been cut if you weren't going to include the answer.
My first assumption was that something in his answer was more personal than he wanted to reveal. But then I was also surprised that they kept the question in. I suppose they could be including that in part 2, but it still seems weird to keep the question in part 1.
One thing I noticed here is that Imp & Skizz are definitely doing way more of the talking/storytelling than they usually would while having a guest on the show. Etho warned them early on that he would be awkward and not be very entertaining, but the guys are definitely filling the time and keeping it moving. I would have LIKED to hear more from Etho’s POV, but part of me suspects this is deliberate to allow him to remain comfortable in his reticence.
I prepared my favourite snacks for this one! I've been a avid Etho fan since the Chocolate Island days. His voice used to help me fall asleep when I had insomnia, and if I'm feeling sad or sick I'll always stick on an old video of Etho's to cheer me up. He's always so genuine and humble, I think that's why he's such a comfort to me. As Impulse said, Etho always brings a cozy vibe to his videos and he always manages to make me smile even on my darkest days. Such an inspiration and a wonderful person
AWH I'm so glad you got etho on board, this was SO COOL and I love how casual and natural yall are. I haven't really been watching/listening to podcasts recently, but I could really feel how comfortable yall were with each other and with not exactly /helping/ etho persay, but certainly hosting him in your "house" and making him comfortable to answer to whatever level of depth he wished to. which feels important for the guy who is so private!! This was great, I want to watch more of these now and I've got a week to catch up on some backlog in anticipation for the second half
This was so good. It’s always weird listening to you guys talk about life and stuff kinda like seeing your teacher outside of school and realize they are “normal” people. You guys are so chill and I really enjoy listening. NGL I came here for the Etho but I’m staying for the laughs.
Thanks for getting Etho on the show, heres my critique tho: yall gave Etho rlly great questions and prompts but a few times yall interrupted him and interjected your own experience when i would have liked to hear more from etho. I know its yalls show but its so rare to hear feom etho in this context! Thanks guys
As someone who's been watching Etho for the passed decade, it's nice to get some information about his process and just him as a person in general. I normally don't even watch/listen to podcasts but the subject matter was too good to pass up. That man is Minecraft imho, I most definitely agree with how Impulse sees him as an inspiration and how he just sets a certain tone/mood for those around him in game. Looking forward to part 2, thanks.
Fanart of this should totaly just be like- him being hung up by the collar on a coat hook or taped to the wall like that one baby meme I feel like thatd fit really well
I could listen to Etho allllll day. I would definitely recognize him by his voice out in public. Etho saying he's not charismatic is so humble. I find him extremely charismatic.
One of the best ways to start the day. Ever. This was beyond amazing. Literally was screaming at the top of my voice range when learning that we get a part 2!!! I can't wait! This episode was so good and i can't wait for the second one!
I NEED SO MUCH MORE OF THIS lol, but for real it is SO amazing to finally hear an Etho podcast, I have needed this all my TH-cam life. As everyone will probably say, Etho has been such an inspiration to alot of peoples lives including mine, I feel like I have grown up with him. Great podcast, looking forward to part 2.
Etho: “Im not the most charismatic person”
Half the world: is obsessed with Etho
I love the idea of Etho looking through a dictionary, a book that famously has every word, and ‘not finding anything’ 😂
That’s so Etho 😭 he’s so smart he knows every word in the dictionary so well it’s irrelevant
well it's actually kinda rare to find youtubers with a word straight out of a dictionary, it's often new made up words, like "Etho"
I love how the literal hermit of Etho is just being out and openish this season

It has been a while, but I believe Etho was working at his family’s greenhouse or nursery or something of that sort and it was one of the customers he was helping that he is talking about here. May be misremembering that a bit, but I think it is right. Comes from one of his let’s play episodes a x amount of years ago.
31:15 etho always says “we”. this is why we love him. he always includes his audience and it’s so endearing! but i’ve never noticed that if he makes a mistake, he makes a conscious effort to exclude “us” and he takes full blame…. what a fantastic creator.
A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit
I was confused by how Etho was talking about all the stuff "we" did the first time I watched an Etho Plays Minecraft video. He was doing a world tour and sharing some of the things we built, and I was like "...isn't this a solo let's play?"
I figured out that he was referring to the viewer participation and engagement before the end of the video. It felt very real and sincere when he stopped to read some of the books where he answered comments from TH-cam. Now it's one of my favorite things about how Etho interacts with his audience. It feels very considerate and mindful. It's just nice to be included.

Etho's minimal youtuber voice is one thing that's magnetic. The authenticity and lack of pagentry.
It's like a gentle embellishment instead of full blown "costume" 😅 it's nice! And also I feel like if I had to put on a voice, it would take a lot of energy, I'd never be able to keep it up
I like Joel's intentionally over the top style, too. It's great having such different tones in the same series.
I think it's wrong to call a "youtuber voice" inauthentic. A "youtuber voice" is nothing special but rather just a presentation voice that people everywhere use when they are saying something to an audience.

Also, he’s a pretty shy guy.. i imagine he doesn’t talk a ton out in public. He probably keeps to himself
I do the same, @@eledatowle8767
Perfectly spot on, you nailed it! I couldn't have said it better myself. This is exactly how I felt watching it
Couldn’t agree more.
I felt the same way. I loved the podcast, but I’d like to hear more of what Etho has to say.
Completely agree! Love the show, but I hope we get to hear a bit more from Etho in part 2, what a rare opportunity.
This is not wrong. However, remember that these guys are not only conducting an interview, but they are doing so without looking at etho. the visual queues are not there these guys are sitting on a couch and staring at some cameras, these aspects make it difficult to moderate yourself. good take though!

Awwwww... its honestly so sweet that Etho cares that much about the comments.
Of course he would be humble he is canadian after all

Such a simple thing, but making the Etho skin move when he is talking is such a nice touch. Well done. 👍🏼
"oh lord, it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way."
when Etho said "nowadays people are just showing things a lot more, you take it in but you don't include yourself in the process"
it felt so good because he articulated something I've been feeling about modern day minecraft videos for so long

Etho defined a generation of content creators and he was inspire by other content creators.
Much love

Same story for me, too!
Playing Minecraft while watching/listening to Hermits has become a hobby of mine.
I love the bus driver analogy. Congratulations on getting Impulse’s CC crush on the podcast.

Wishing you the best❤And nice job on your degree. I only had to take intro physics classes and they were some of my hardest ones
@@Matt-jq7zw thank you so much 🤍
Hope getting your degree goes well!
36:53 The Hermits and Hermitcraft literally saved my life at few years ago. So thank you.
The legend himself deserves every single bit of fangirling and recognition he gets
i'm so thrilled Etho agreed to be on the podcast. can't wait for next week's continuation!
I also wanted to hear what Etho had to say more. Not that I don't love hearing Impulse and Skizz, but Etho was kind of the guest here...
I started scrolling the messages right afrer that strange cut 🤔 wonder what happened..?
yeah weird that they would leave in the question but cut the answer
Same. I’m hoping that’ll be out into an episode 2 if they have one with Etho. I was really interested in his answer.
There will be a good reason for it, I'm sure. And maybe - big maybe - we'll one day get a podcast outtakes compilation which includes it.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
I was listening to you today and “i wonder if etho would come” AND HE DID!!
SAME!!!!!!!!!
I too, Wish Etho would Come.
Thanks guys
☝️ This!
Yes, I was noticing that as well.
Yup. To be honest, that's why I hate podcasts. Usually hosts just take over and talk about themselves.
I love how they used Ethos skin, hung on the wall 😂❤
I love how horrifying this sounds out of the context of minecraft lmao
@@camo2156 Oh no, I didn't realise lamo 😂😭
@@camo2156lmao thats crazy
Fanart of this should totaly just be like- him being hung up by the collar on a coat hook or taped to the wall like that one baby meme
I feel like thatd fit really well
He does look likes he’s one the wall rather than perched on the couch back lol, that’s good
I could listen to Etho allllll day. I would definitely recognize him by his voice out in public. Etho saying he's not charismatic is so humble. I find him extremely charismatic.
Im really hoping they manage to get Cleo on at some point!
That gonna be an R-rating podcast real fast.
One of the best ways to start the day. Ever. This was beyond amazing.
Literally was screaming at the top of my voice range when learning that we get a part 2!!!
I can't wait! This episode was so good and i can't wait for the second one!
TGEY GIT ETHO HELL YEAHHH

I NEED SO MUCH MORE OF THIS lol, but for real it is SO amazing to finally hear an Etho podcast, I have needed this all my TH-cam life. As everyone will probably say, Etho has been such an inspiration to alot of peoples lives including mine, I feel like I have grown up with him. Great podcast, looking forward to part 2.
