Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Jurassic Park for the first time today! I was blown away by the stunning VFX and the amazing Music! This truly was a spectacle to behold!
In Steven Spielberg's massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.

Fun Fact: Dennis Nedry’s death in the movie was heavily toned down compared to the book, in the book Dennis encountered a much larger Dilophosaurus which proceeded to blind him with his venomous spit, tore his intestines out and carried him by his head, his final thoughts were him hoping it would be over soon

@@thepowerfulwolfspirit.2581 Yea there was a ton of changes from the book, in the book the Lawyer (I forgot his name) and Muldoon survive, meanwhile John Hammand and Wu are killed, Wu gets mauled and eaten alive by a Raptor meanwhile Hammond broke his leg running because the ambiance made T-Rex roars which scared him, then got mad when he hear the kids laughing from the ambiance only to be met with a pack of Compys

@@andrewjones6583 i watched camp cretaceus with my sister and there was a scene that was basically an easter egg to the John Hammond's death in the book, since one of the characters to scare his friends tells them that Hammond was killed by the Compys
Fun fact, the kids screaming during the trex attack was real fear. The trex was causing a little more damage than planned and they just decided to keep filming.
And because the animatronic malfunctioned when the rain fell on it, causing Rexy's head to fall on the sunroof.

poor Sam Jackson!he got an off screen death!due to the hurricane that destroyed the sets they had to cut his chase/death scene due to budget cuts!
That's not true unfortunately. It cracked the sunroof and broke a tooth, but they didn't notice that right away. Somehow this myth has really spread widely, even though it isn't true. There's variations on it, some even saying the T-Rex was never supposed to break through the sunroof (which is just downright wrong, as the screenplay included that).
That ROAR at the end with the banner falling down, that's one of the most iconic scenes in history.

The T.Rex has the most amazing roar ever.
The reason the T-Rex stopped chasing them is because T-Rex isn’t exactly built to run long distances. It’s more of an ambush predator than a “outrun its prey” kind of predator.
How do you even ambush your prey when you are a giant in a world of ferns and fern trees though.
@@frenchbreadstupidity7054 Dinosaur times had giant non-fern trees and stuff too. It usually waited for the prey to get close enough while remaining perfectly still. Once the prey got close enough, it attacked.
@@frenchbreadstupidity7054 In fact, the T-Rex in the movie used those same tactics to get one of the Gallimimuses as you can see it showed up out of nowhere, scaring the Gallimimuses enough to where one essentially tripped and thus ended up getting eaten.
Some researchers claim the Trex was merely an overgrown scavenger like a jackal of dinosaurs.
Also when they first got to the park Alan asked how fast they were and Mr. Hammond's response was "we clocked the t-rex at 32mph." So yeah, a Jeep Wrangler would easily outrun a t-rex by those specs.
Fun fact: there was an actual hurricane that caused production to hold and about half of the sets were destroyed during the hurricane, they were gonna show case more dinos but they got destroyed and there was supposed to be an entire death scene with Samuel l Jackson’s character. All that said they still managed to produce a masterpiece of a movie

@@CaptainCretaceous91 they were going to show the dilophosaurus earlier and metricanthasaurus ( I’m positive I spelled that wrong), and some others, hence why at the beginning of the Dino tour all the exhibits don’t have dinos shown

@@raptorneon4919 Troodons were made exclusively for the games, they had nothing to do with the movies. The movies always follow the same formula, you get a big apax predator that no smaller dinosaurs could hope to touch as the biggest threat (T-rex in 1 and 2, Spinosaurus in 3), the raptors as small antagonists in all 3 movies, and one almost irrelevant side dinosaur for additional trouble or to kill off a side character (dilo in 1, compy in 2, flying ones in 3). Troodon does not fit into that formular, they are presented as far more dangerous than the raptors, which is shown by a pack of raptors fleeing from them in one of the games. There would have been no time to add an additional threat in the first movie.
Jurassic Park is a fascinating film! The amount of technology used to bring the dinosaurs is incredible, especially for its time! I really love this franchise and look forward to the upcoming Jurassic film reactions!

I love how this movie mostly used puppetry with the help of Cgi to bring some of the dinosaurs back to life and even the CGI on Jurassic Park has aged much better than a lot of movies that came out back then
thats likely because steven spielberg is good friends with george lucas and so had lucas to give him the best CGI has lucas is pretty much one of the people who defined CGI

It's funny. If you look closely during the scene when the raptor first pushes open the door do the kitchen, you can see the arm of a stage hand outside the doorway reach out and grab the raptor animatronic to keep it from wobbling too much.
Jurassic Park's CGI was so amazing that the entire industry just kinda...stopped getting better, quality-wise. Sure, CGI is easier due to better tools, and computers are vastly more powerful and more affordable and can therefore process it much faster, but otherwise, not much has changed.
This franchise sparked a love of dinosaurs in countless kids back then and even now. This is gonna be a very fun series to relive with ya Cody 🦕🦖

it took me rewatching it as a adult to realize that the first scene was them transporting the velociraptors. a guy got attacked and they were electrocuting the dinosaurs because they were too valuable to be killed. and thus, the lawyer character got involved.
I will never EVER forget the first time I watched this movie. I was eight years old. My dad said "I'm going to show you one of the best movies of my generation." The movie started and I was already excited. Alan Grant took off his hat, his sunglasses, looked up....and there it was. The first dinosaur that I ever saw. I was in pure "AW". I was pretty obsessed with dinosaurs so seeing one for the first time felt like a million tears accumulated in my eyes. It felt too good to be true. It felt real. Then, I saw the second movie, the third one and the Jurassic world ones. And now that I am an adult and I can buy whatever I want I bought myself one of the Jurassic Park Jeep's that appear on the movies as my first car.
I can't wait for you to react to more Jurassic park movies because I can reconnect with my inner child through you💖✨
Representatives of NASA included this film in the list of movies in which various kinds of scientific theories are expressed.
God I love this movie, its my all time favourite movie. This movie still looks so good. It's almost 30 years old. It revolutionised the use of CGI. Not to mention the animatronics, that full size T-Rex apparently moved by itself sometimes on set. Also during the attack scene the robot kept getting too wet from the rain and would start shaking so they'd have to cut and dry it off. You can sort of see the shaking a couple of times in the movie. Another fun fact the T-Rex (who is actually named Rexy) lost a tooth. The robot broke a tooth off on the glass of the car. So I guess kind of a spoiler for Jurassic World, she has the tooth missing in Jurassic World and in her other appearances in the franchise. Because she is still alive at the current point in the franchise.
Another fun fact the robot T-Rex was actually quite dangerous. A crew member almost got crushed when he had to work on it from the inside. He luckily survived with out any injuries. You can find the story if you google Jurassic Park T-Rex animatronic, it's on the Stan Winston school website.

During the movie there were three raptors. The big one (raptor from the start of the movie) and two raptors she kept alive. The big one is the one that looks at Muldoon while one of the two kills him. At the end, one raptor is locked in the freezer, and only two are left. The big one is the final raptor alive, and fights the T. rex at the end.
there is no way of knowing which is which. there are no physical features that set it apart, the actors don't identify it, etc.
@@scottb3034 You can based off of behaviour. In the kitchen, one is barking at the other, meaning it’s superior.
6:29, this is Brachiosaurus, a 13 meter high Sauropod, a true giant of the dinosaur age. It measures up to 17- 25 meters in length, and weighs up to 40 tons.
I read it can reach 16 metres in height

Fun fact: Samuel L Jackson had a death scene but the set got destroyed by a cat 4 hurricane the hit the island where they filmed Jurassic park

I'm glad you're watching Jurassic Park. This is my most favorite movie and favorite film franchise, and this is where I became a hardcore Jurassic fan. I've been watching every movie, reading the original novels by Michael Crichton, playing the Jurassic Park TellTale Game and Jurassic World: Evolutions 1 and 2, and watching Camp Cretaceous seasons 1 and 4 on Netflix. Also, by the way, this T-Rex was named 'Rexy' (or Roberta as some called her) where she does also appear in Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, and the upcoming Dominion, which I can't wait to see on June 21st.
One of my favorites of all time! I have probably watched it over 200 times, and it never gets old. That first scene with Dr. Grant seeing the dinosaurs at the lake, makes me cry it's so beautiful and real. A perfect movie in my book, story, performances, costumes, settings were all amazing. Thanks for watching this one!

I Think it was an animatronic. The one that sticked His or her Hand Out Just saved the animatronic from Falling Over ;)
The main difference between Brachiosaurus and Brontosaurus is that Brachiosaurus has a much longer neck and longer forelegs. It also has a bump on its head that the Brontosaurus lacks.
Not to mention Brachiosaurus' neck stretches upward as opposed to forwards.

@@johnmanzuki8979 its actually a bit debated on how the positioning on Apatosaurus and brontosaurus’s neck were, after recent research many Paleontologists believe that they were more vertical than straight horizontal, (this is with all Diplodocids) but not to mention brachiosaurus comes from an entirely different clade of sauropods. 3:01 It's called a paleontologist, which I understand can either study prehistoric life through research, or by going out to the field to directly study prehistoric life by digging up fossils like Grant does.
8:57 Also, I suggest remembering this guy for the future- Dr. Wu, played by B.D. Wong. As the head geneticist, he's a major character in the book, but wasn't relevant in the movies for 22 years.
22:37 Brachi's are probably the most identifiable of the sauropod (long-neck) family, between their large nasal hump on the top of their head, and how their front legs are taller than their hind legs, which we believed they used to reach leaves at the top of taller trees.

31:38 I still think of this- this revelation would not have been a problem if the park just used knob handles and manual locks. The raptors could probably have still gotten into rooms, but by breaking off the handle, not as easy as pushing down a lever.
37:30 Yeah, they used animatronics by Stan Winston for the close-up shots of dinosaurs; the distance shots were CGI (from Industrial Light and Magic, I think?). Basically they used the animatronics as models to animate the CGI to match the two.
Well, realistically, Velociraptors wouldn't be tall enough to reach the handles, nor did they have the dexterity to handle doorknobs like that, as the palms down approach is wrong, in order to get that posture, you'd have to break almost every joint in their wrists. lol
gallimimus was an omnivore. insects couldn't sustain animals of that size.
@@ChrissonatorOFL yes they would because the raptors in this are based on deinonychus antirrhopus and not the smaller velociraptor mongoliensis (which is the turkey sized species). deinonychus antirrhopus was named velociraptor antirrhopus by gregory s paul back then and paul was a source for the novel and consultant on the film (his artwork is showcased in the trailer scene in montana as well). also deinonychus was native to the badlands and montana while velo mongoliensis was not, that's another clue.
So while they couldn't pronate their wrists, they were more than tall enough to reach the handles.
@@scottb3034 Well, since Deinonychus isn't a Velociraptor, and only a small group of people considered it as such at the time, including Jack Horner who was the paleo expert for Jurassic Park. A real Velociraptor wouldn't be this big, and never was.
So the naming convention regardless is wrong in this movie.
@@ChrissonatorOFL first of all, there was not one "paleo expert" on the film. Greg Paul created artwork for the movie, John Ostrom (the paleontologist that discovered deinonychus) was consulted, Robert Bakker was consulted and Horner was also brought in. Among others.
And that is irrelevant since it is deinonychus in this movie. Just under the nomenclature Paul devised to lump similar species under the same genus name. This is Velociraptor antirrhopus which over 3 feet tall and 11 feet long, big enough to approach a door handle.
Considering also the fact that the "real" velociraptor is native to asia and has ZERO remains in the US or Canada so it can't be that species.
So you are wrong, accept it and move on.

The fact that Spielberg directed "Jurassic Park" while making "Schindler's List" is a testament to his creativity and genius. He also teamed with one of my favorite composers John Williams once again for the main score which they worked together for the main score for Spielberg's 1975 "Jaws" film. Williams also composed the score for "Star Wars" which is why all 3 movies have a similar unassuming jovial sound despite the thilling and menacing nature of the action. Great reaction ❤

Also fun fact at 17:20 the Rex animatronic wasn't actually supposed to break through the roof/window of the car, that happened on accident and because of it the fear of the kids here was real
second fact is incorrect.
The animatronic was indeed supposed to break through the glass, however it was supposed to break all as one piece but if you watch the scene closely you can see about 1/3 of it broke off separately which was unintentional, and that's why the children were genuinely scared

Besides land before time movie which I love and cherish sad and happy tears jurassic park is my favorite movie of all time it came out in the year 1993 the year I was born and I love dinosaurs your gonna love this movie cody it's well made the actors are amazing and the way they created the dinosaurs are outstanding the whole story was created well.

here's a fun fact you likely didn't see anywhere: the novel uses motion sensors to track dinosaurs and in one scene grant and the kids try to activate one to get the park's attention...that scene was shot for the film but ultimately cut. you can see evidence of motion sensors existing in the actual film though. depending on the version of the movie you will see it at the very start of the tour's pass through the rex paddock. it will show up on certain widescreen versions but not any full screen copy.

Jurassic Park is one of those movies that completely changed how movies are made today, because this was the movie that began with CGI!!! I mean just imagine those people who got to see this in 1993!!! They were also blown away and just in awe of this movie how real the dinosaurs are, and even they used animatronics in this too, to make the characters and the audience invested!!!! The effects still blows me away, and I have seen these movies so many times!!!!!! Which doesn’t get annoying or boring!!!!! This film will remain as one of Steven Spielberg best films and John Williams EPIC SCORE!!!! Soooooo great! 😊
I was one of the people who got to see it in theaters. I was in second or third grade. It was mindblowing. Hadn't seen anything like it. The dinosaurs looked real! Gave me nightmares but I didn't care lol.

Not really. There was CGI used for the rotating ballroom scene of _Beauty & the Beast_ in 1991, for example.
I saw this movie at a preview in a huge cinema in St. Louis. A good friend at a local tv station got tickets and invited me. The first time we hear that T-Rex roar I think the sound system was turned up to 11. I swear everyone's hair stood straight up. It was a fantastic experience.

And also this T.rex is called Rexy and which appears in Jurassic World, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion. Rexy is from Isla Nublar and just to note for the next movie, The Bull Trexes are from Isla Sorna

@@nissy9220 She is referred to as Rexy in the original Jurassic Park novel as well as in the franchise canon. Claire calls her Rexy in the canon novel The Evolution of Claire and the characters in Camp Cretaceous, which is also canon, call her Rexy as well.
It is really special to get to see someone's reaction to watching Jurassic Park for the first time :D It's truly a one-of-a-kind story.
I'm so excited to see you did the Jurassic Park movies! (Fell totally behind on watching reactions so what an awesome thing to come back to.) I know that the line most people remember is "Life...finds a way." but the one that sticks with me is when Malcolm says "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they never stopped to think if they should." I love that line. Also, I'm absolutely positive that Malcolm regretted that sarcastic/curious, "You will have dinosaurs on your dinosaur tour, won't you?" by the end of all this lol.

Hey Cody. You're one of my favorite TH-camrs and definitely the nicest out of all of them.
What's worse about him constantly saying spared no Expense, is he clearly spared expense when it came to there Tech guy or they wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place. The guy even said think anyone else could do what I do as easily or as CHEAP. CHEAP doesn't sound like spared no Expense to me.
He also spared expense with the security of the coaster, the lousy screens in the cars, the doors of the cars which are not locked...
I remember watching this movie when I was a kid and I loved it! At a local movie theater where I used to go watch movies back then they had pictures from movies that were framed on the wall. The scene where the T-Rex gives it out it’s king of beast roar as the banner is falling was one of those pictures. 🦖
The white outfit asion dude (I'm not trying to offend anyone) is Doctor Henry Wu, he appears in Jurassic Park, Jurassic World 1, 2 and soon 3.
It was a mix of cgi and animatronics. Tbh when the t-rex showed up i thought it was all real but i was blown away by how much cgi they use in that scene still the best up to this day
Fun fact, they actually had a full scale animatronic T-Rex. Some scenes were CGI while others were the animatronic. Like when Rexy was pushing her mouth through the roof of the jeep. If you look closely, there is a bit where part of the "glass" the kids are holding up breaks that wasn't suppose to happen so it really added to the heightened "danger" of the scene to make seem all the more real.
Also, if you look closely at a few scenes, you can actually see stage crew members. The first instance is in the opening scene when they are transporting the raptor to the cage. When the raptor tries to get free, the worker falls off the top of the cage towards the camera. How they set the scene up is he was going to fall off and land on a safety mat in the direction of the camera. But if you slow the scene down, in the final few frames, you can see a hand come up from off camera to catch him because they thought he was actually going to hit the camera on accident.
Another instance of this is during the kitchen scene where the raptors are hunting the kids. If you look closely when they show the wide shot of the first raptor opening the kitchen door all the way, you can see the arm of a crew member outside the doorway reach out and grab the raptor animatronic to keep it balanced.
I was 10 I think when this came out, it’s been my favourite movie ever since, I never get sick of it and always watch it when it’s on tv, looking forward to watching u experience the rest ❤️

The Jurassic Park trilogy is by far my favorite. Fun fact though, majority of the Jurassic Park visuals are puppets/animatronics, rare use of CGI. But once you get into Jurassic World, they mostly use CGI, reason it is the lesser in the series. But definitely cannot wait to see you react to the rest!! Definitely enjoy. 💖🦖

“Is that a Brontosaurus?” No, that’s a Brachiosaurus. You can tell cause of the point on the head, which is where its nose is.
The name Brachiosaurus “arm lizard” comes from the large front limbs that are longer than the rear ones. That’s a sure fire way of identifying one. The classic skull was reconstructed from Giraffatitan, an African cousin..
@@stefansalvatierra4913 That too. Aside from the head point, its front legs being longer than its back legs is another way to easily identify Brachiosaurus.
I love the cartoon sound effect that plays when Nedry slips and falls in the jungle.
This is the first movie I remember going to see in theaters. It’s easily one of my all time favorites
when this was first released in theaters many parents brought their small children to see the great dinosaur movie.

In the immensely popular (despite the sins) movie Jurassic Park, there's the famous scene where the giant T-Rex is attacking a jeep during a thunder storm. As it attacks, Dr. Alan Grant, a self-respecting paleontologist, yells, "Don't move! He can't see you, if you don't move." Here's the thing - that's wrong. (If that comes as a blow, you're definitely not going to want to learn the shocking truth about Velociraptors.) The Tyrannous Rex not only could see just fine, whether the object was moving or non-moving (which helps one not run into things), there's also quite a bit of evidence that the T-Rex's sight was extremely good, very possibly better than modern-day hawks and eagles.
The TREX and other dinosaurs is a animatronics.

Jurassic Park single handedly ushered in an entire subculture of dinosaurs. Basically every piece of dinosaur media we have today, we have Jurassic Park to thank for. A truly remarkable achievement.

Jurassic World is one off my favourite films.
Ths is definitely one of my favorite movie franchises. I used to binge the films all the time. Regardless of what anyone says, I love every single film to date. Now, I would say it was these movies that had me obsessed with dinosaurs as a kid, but I loved dinos before I watched them. In fact, it was The Land Before Time that started my love for dinosaurs. Also, the velociraptor is my favorite dinosaur.
Fun fact the little boys name is Joe Mazzello and he played John deacon in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. This film was what inspire him to start directing in general

Well the part where he said that was CGI. I think about half the shots were CGI and the other half animatronic. Basically any shots where the rex is walking or shows it's entire body is CGI. That includes when the vehicle is flipped and the rex is initially biting at the wheels (the vehicle in that shot was also CGI). But then yes the shot right after where it pans down to Lex in the car is an animatronic. Still crazy for 1993 anyways, they did a fantastic job of mixing the two. I'm able to tell the difference at this point but I've also seen the movie and this scene especially an ungodly amount of times
The part where Trex is going at the Jeep, the Jeep is cgi. But everything else isn’t.

This movie was my absolute favorite as a kid, i was crazy in dinosaurs as a kid. Had dinosaur toys, Dino books and could name every single dinosaur in that book and I had a Dino suit/onesie and pyjamas 😂
I was literally in the middle of rereading the book when I saw the notification the video was up!!! The book is definetly worth a read! Much more horror and gore.
Plus Malcolm isn't just the snarky Goldbloom. He shines as a mathematician in the book. HE's the one who figures out the dinos are breeding based on the population graphs! And the part where he has the motion sensor trackers increase the expected number of dinos in the algorithm and the computer keeps. finding. more. and more dinos to count was one of my favorite parts.
The reason Hammond says "We spared no expense" so much is because he wants people to believe that when, in fact, he cut every corner he could.
Fun fact: The velociraptor and Brachiosaurus are two dinosaurs that aren't their actual species genus.
Velociraptor in this movie, is actually known as a species of Dromeasaur,called "Deinonochyus".
Now, Brachiosaurus is a real dinosaur,the one in Jurassic Park is actually a genus of Titanosaurur from Africa called "Giraffititan '.
Tim is basically an invincible character in this movie. He has a invincibility star and unlimited 1-ups. There are 3 or 4 times when he legit should have been killed, but somehow survived. He even gets electrocuted and comes back to life in the next scene.

The dinosaur sounds in this movie were made by combining sounds made by living animals and every day objects.
The Tyrannosaurus rex (known by fans as Rexy) was a mix of elephant calf vocalizations (roar, snarls and growls), lion sounds and a dog playing with a rope toy (shaking the Gallimimus to death).
The Dilophosaurus was a mix of hawk, swan, howler monkey and rattlesnake sounds.
The adult Raptors were a mix of a walrus's chest cavity roar and a male dolphin's mating scream recorded with a hydrophone, while the hatchling was a mix of owlet and fox kit sounds.
The Brachiosaurus vocalizations were slowed down donkey calls, while the sneeze was a mix of an active fire hydrant and a whale breathing through its blowhole(s).
The Gallimimus's chief sound effect was made using the recorded calls of a mare (female horse) in heat.
And yes, that Raptor popping up right behind Ellie is always a major jumpscare...especially for me with my autism and anxiety.

I love the Jurassic Park trilogy! I'm actually watching the Jurassic World Netflix series and it is incredible. In fact, Jurassic Park/World was such an inspiration that I used it as a reference for the prologue of my fan fiction, Silverwing: Silver And Gold. Thank you John Hammod and Jurassic Park for you inspiration.
