They might be a rogue group. I mean, look at their ship and weapons (Rusty / old and illegal), and I doubt many Judoon commanders have horns that can be snapped off like a lump of soap and damaged eyes!
...This is one of the most confusing Doctor Who stories I’ve ever seen. It’s as confusing as Ghost Light (AND CLASSIC FANS KNOW HOW CONFUSING GHOST LIGHT IS).
Literally had a breakdown when Jack came back, omg sooo happy!!. I was like I recognise that voice. Barrowman kept that one quiet. When did he find the time to film it as he’s so busy. Great episode didn’t see any of that coming woah.
Maybe 1 of 2 theroys: 1: somone changed time: hense why the master is bad, galfray is dead and ruth is the drs clone(ig?) But who would want that mutch CHAOS? Likely the trickster. Or 2: Ruth is the drs clone or a mid regenration from 12-13 or "the valard?" People keep saying that.
So, if the Ruth!Doctor is before William Hartnell, how is the TARDIS a police box? Because they said that the reason why the TARDIS is a police box was when the Doctor and Susan were living in the 1960′s (and we did see when the Doctor and Susan left Gallifrey, his TARDIS was the default look (pre-police box)).
The Ruth doctor was willing to kill, which our doctor dosn't even consider doing. The Ruth doctor had a protector, Lee who I also believe is a time lord, and if tied in with the doctor, he is the master, but another version
Overloard 7 depends if you only count the lives of Humans and Timelords. The Doctor never had a problem with killing his enemies, Cybermen, Daleks, Sontarans etc the whole “no guns” trope is nonsense.
My theory is that Ruth is a past incarnation of the Doctor, but all time lords can have their memory wiped or something connected to the drums as she is the timeless child. I think the lone cyber man is coming after her.
TLDR for some of you: I just recently got to watch seasons 11 and 12, because reasons, and I realize pretty much everyone has had their say, but while there were some pretty good episodes, it really just felt like every thing was happening to the doctor, instead of her being involved in it or taking charge like the previous doctors did. It felt like that whole "I don't know who I am yet" thing that comes when they first regenerate, just stuck with her the whole time. She hardly knew any enemy she came across & seemed to barely know what to do. I'm not saying the previous doctors always figured it out right away, but they always took charge & 13 tries to take charge, but it almost seems like everyone else is the hero instead of her.
I had a power cut mid episode. I screamed. The blimin judoon doesn't want me to watch Doctor Who. ALSO CAPTAIN JACK! YESSS! But I do want torchwood back on bbc Iplayer.
I think the general consensus seems to be, I love this episode but I’m so confused as to how doctor Ruth fits into the timeline. So glad to see Captain Jack Harkness back again. Really enjoyed seeing that. Good to see the Judoon back as well.
best part of the episode Jack being back. second and third best parts of the episode, seeing Jack on screen again, and again. Now, please I need more Jack :)
Quite a stretch and it is just a theory but it could be river song as we have seen her (regenerate?) Before and we also know that she steals the tardis from the doctor. (Sorry if I've missed something stupid I dont really know the lure behind river that well)
This was the best episode in years. This is what fans want. More mysteries, intrigue, story arcs, awesome returning characters, etc. Please BBC give us more of THIS! Not just dumb history lessons one-off episodes.
I don't mind Ruth being the Doctor, but only if she is in the future - because I can't take the lack of continuity. However, Jack was back and everyone loves jack so
My theory is Ruth is a time anomaly. A regeneration of the Doctor plucked from time to fight in the first time war. Ruth was the first regeneration of the new cycle after Matt smith's Dr and before capaldi's. The Doctor was plucked from the time stream inbetween regenerations. After the first time war had ended the timelords then placed a mindwiped Doctor back into her own timeline where she would regenerate into capaldi's Dr. This could explain why the process of that regen was so abrupt and the loss of memory in series 8.
I'm against the idea of a doctor before Hartnell 😕 I am hoping that this turns out to be a parallel version and we get to see the Peter Cushing and Richard E Grant versions as well
@@M_no_more About the Other, it's a bit complicated. In the 7th Doctor era, script editor Andrew Cartmel had a plan to restore some of the mystery about the Doctor which repeated visits to Gallifrey had worn away. There are several references to the Doctor not being a normal Time Lord, having a great secret, and connecting him to Rassilon and Omega, the founding fathers of Gallifrey. That would have led to a story arc exploring that (known as the Cartmel masterplan) but the show was discontinued. The Virgin New Adventure novels tried to continue that story, and this is where we get into very dubious canonicity and POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILER TERRITORY. I don't really know the precise details, but the novels state that there was a third founder, known as the Other, and that Time Lords do not reproduce in the normal way but instead use devices known as looms. There's a mention of the Other having a granddaughter called Susan, with the general implication is that the Doctor is a reincarnation of the Other (not the same person). That lines up suspiciously well with "the timeless child" and the two "Doctors" (one seemingly from the distant past) we have just seen. Also the Master specifically mentioned the founding fathers of Gallifrey in Spyfall part 2.
I think I know who the other Doctor is and why Jodie Whitaker's doctor doesn't remember her. Because she is and isn't the Doctor. In the very old series of Doctor Who in the Trial of a Time Lord, their was a character introduced that was said to be about this time in the Doctors timeline called the "VALEYARD". It was a version of the Doctor, but a different version. think of Ying and Yang, Black and White. 2 versions of one character, but completely different.
They were ok..... 2nd part of spyfall let it down to rushed to finish, as for Tesla the villain looked like the one from runaway bride, plus had too much of the companions in and not enough Doctor.... This had it right with the companions adding to the doctor and not the other way round. Which it has seemed to be recently.
Judoon Law 101 1. Always use extreme force 2. The criminals do not have rights 3. Civilian casualties aren't our problem 4. Never talk out of a situation..... BLAST YOUR WAY OUT!!!!!!!
Lmao. To be fair - they aren't nice people. They're Police For Hire and can be "good" or "bad" depending on their current leader. Of which clearly she wasn't a nice person.
such a good episode up until the last reveal, and because of that, it is not official that series’s 11 and 12 and any subsequent chibnall series’ are not canon, unless it’s an alternate universe doctor, it’s not canon
I know what's going on- Space time continuum distruption aka a paradox, causing past to become future and future to become past all in present time and Jack was sent back in time by the doctor
Ahhhh!!! What an episode - so many questions, but not enough answers! I can't wait to find out how this series arc continues...Well done Chibnall, you've really given us something to think about!

They might be a rogue group. I mean, look at their ship and weapons (Rusty / old and illegal), and I doubt many Judoon commanders have horns that can be snapped off like a lump of soap and damaged eyes!
Danny K 2001 they are a group under contract from someone who isn’t following the rules of the Judoon. They bring it up in the episode
they did it any ways
Still trying to get my head around what happened
...This is one of the most confusing Doctor Who stories I’ve ever seen. It’s as confusing as Ghost Light (AND CLASSIC FANS KNOW HOW CONFUSING GHOST LIGHT IS).
Ghost Light isn't confusing… unless you haven't figured the story out I guess...
I know who the another doctor like they better not Change doctor past
Ghost Light is easy to follow.
;-)
Macra I’ve watched many times and I still don’t get the story
lwaves I mean..it keeps itself to itself and doesn’t seem to change the entire history of Doctor Who...
Literally had a breakdown when Jack came back, omg sooo happy!!. I was like I recognise that voice. Barrowman kept that one quiet. When did he find the time to film it as he’s so busy. Great episode didn’t see any of that coming woah.
I can’t believe they’ve re-written the Doctor’s history again. Glad Jack is back, though. 😊
Watch the brain of morbius and u will understand
Can't of been pre first doctor. The first doctor is the one who stole the TARDIS.
@@theminecrafttfl He stole a 'antique' Tardis, maybe it's always been his from before.
Maybe she’s a Doctor from a different universe
Maybe 1 of 2 theroys:
1: somone changed time: hense why the master is bad, galfray is dead and ruth is the drs clone(ig?)
But who would want that mutch CHAOS? Likely the trickster.
Or 2:
Ruth is the drs clone or a mid regenration from 12-13 or "the valard?" People keep saying that.
Jack has to return for the finale! OMG! OMG! I can’t even think straight! That moment had me so hyped! I can’t believe he’s back!😆
We better get an interview with you know who
Captain Jack Harkness
Here he comes in a ruddy great tractor! ;)
3:18 Introducing Jo Martin as the first black Doctor.
Stephen Murphy Only if it’s an alternate universe doctor or post-Jodie. She can’t be pre-Hartnell. Otherwise I refuse to accept this as canon.
@@iHDFootball She can't be because Hartnell's doctor was the one that obtained the police box tardis as seen in Day of the Doctor
@@a_cats
It can be, if The Doctor is reincarnation of the 3rd founding father/mother?.
@@jeckjeck3119 But if they both had different tardises then why did this one have a police box exterior as well?
So, if the Ruth!Doctor is before William Hartnell, how is the TARDIS a police box? Because they said that the reason why the TARDIS is a police box was when the Doctor and Susan were living in the 1960′s (and we did see when the Doctor and Susan left Gallifrey, his TARDIS was the default look (pre-police box)).
AMAZING EPISODE BEST OF SEASON 12 BY FAR
I agree!!!!!!!!!!!
The Ruth doctor was willing to kill, which our doctor dosn't even consider doing. The Ruth doctor had a protector, Lee who I also believe is a time lord, and if tied in with the doctor, he is the master, but another version
Johnny Bhoy The Doctor has Killed many, many times.
@@stevenmcguinness4751 yeah, but excluding the war doctor he was never fighting an entire platoon of judoon and waving a gun around
Overloard 7 depends if you only count the lives of Humans and Timelords. The Doctor never had a problem with killing his enemies, Cybermen, Daleks, Sontarans etc the whole “no guns” trope is nonsense.
It's only because her companion was taken from her that she's that way. Were he still there, she'd not be behaving so Ruth-less-Lee.
@@LordGrotesk 😂
Makes me so happy to see this season of Dr. Who. This was the best episode yet.
My theory is that Ruth is a past incarnation of the Doctor, but all time lords can have their memory wiped or something connected to the drums as she is the timeless child. I think the lone cyber man is coming after her.
TLDR for some of you:
I just recently got to watch seasons 11 and 12, because reasons, and I realize pretty much everyone has had their say, but while there were some pretty good episodes, it really just felt like every thing was happening to the doctor, instead of her being involved in it or taking charge like the previous doctors did.
Loved this one with captain jack and the other doctor I want to hear more of that doctor and bring back the 1st TARDIS interior it's cool
But that wasn't the first TARDIS interior... It has some similar elements..
It looked more or less identical to it but loved it
similar but not identical at all.
So it an actual animatronic. Wow that's really neat.
no complaints at all. think they are in their groove. the psuedo doc was amazing.
As much as I hate this era, The Doctor really showed her heroism here. Can't think of a worse fate than being trapped in Gloucester.
Are we just going to ignore the lone cyberman development?
No, it was clearly stated many times in the episode, lmao
The Doctor is getting angsty. I love it 🥰
best part of the episode Jack being back.
second and third best parts of the episode, seeing Jack on screen again, and again.
Now, please I need more Jack :)
I first thought it was impressive and nostalgic that they brought back the Judoon. Little did I know who else would return
Pun intended:)
@jeck jeck
lol not even I just realised it
Quite a stretch and it is just a theory but it could be river song as we have seen her (regenerate?) Before and we also know that she steals the tardis from the doctor. (Sorry if I've missed something stupid I dont really know the lure behind river that well)
This and the woman who fell to earth are the only two Whittaker episodes I actually like
I mean excuse me??? That episode was just wow 😮 amazing
Never been so happy to hear someones voice!!!!
However, Jack was back and everyone loves jack so
Who’s Ruth?
Love isn't the word. We all absolutely BLOODY ADDDOOREEE Jack! His return was the best thing ever!

A fun, mind bending episode full of shocks, surprises and Judoon near the Moon!
OMG JACK US HERE I COULD TELL BY THE VOICE
that episode man..
Best episode so far. Brilliant. Loved it. All what Doctor Who is about.
Lmao Matt said “we were looking at monsters from series 2 so we chose the judoon”. The judoon first appeared in series 3...
Who cares about The Judoon
WHEN THE OTHER IS NOW CANON
The Other? Who's the Other?
Morbius doctors canon..
I'm against the idea of a doctor before Hartnell 😕
I am hoping that this turns out to be a parallel version and we get to see the Peter Cushing and Richard E Grant versions as well
@@cameronmonaghan6883 That's exactly what hoping for too.
The Virgin New Adventure novels tried to continue that story, and this is where we get into very dubious canonicity and
POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILER TERRITORY.
Congratulations to the whole team, you finally managed to put out another GREAT one! The best one so far, since Moffat and Co...
Its FUGITIVE BBC!!
@Doctor Who it was really cool to see Jack Barrowman " Back Again " as Captain Jack Harkness in that cameo tonite !!!
John barrowman
I think I know who the other Doctor is and why Jodie Whitaker's doctor doesn't remember her. Because she is and isn't the Doctor. In the very old series of Doctor Who in the Trial of a Time Lord, their was a character introduced that was said to be about this time in the Doctors timeline called the "VALEYARD". It was a version of the Doctor, but a different version. think of Ying and Yang, Black and White. 2 versions of one character, but completely different.
The Judoon have definite Vogon vibes.
This was actually a great episode imo. Definitely the best one since Capaldi.
That's not saying much though
Tsu 800 I liked Capaldi’s seasons but either way it’s an improvement.
@@drawde_064 Capaldi was great after he lightened up in season 3, just wish he had stayed instead of unleashing Whittaker on us
Finally a proper who episode......only taken a season and a bit...but this is what it should be like....
What about Spyfall or the Tesla episode?
They were ok..... 2nd part of spyfall let it down to rushed to finish, as for Tesla the villain looked like the one from runaway bride, plus had too much of the companions in and not enough Doctor.... This had it right with the companions adding to the doctor and not the other way round. Which it has seemed to be recently.

such a good episode up until the last reveal, and because of that, it is not official that series’s 11 and 12 and any subsequent chibnall series’ are not canon, unless it’s an alternate universe doctor, it’s not canon
so the only option is:" such a good episode; let's wait and see what happen next."
I know what's going on-
Space time continuum distruption aka a paradox, causing past to become future and future to become past all in present time and Jack was sent back in time by the doctor
best episode so far
Ahhhh!!! What an episode - so many questions, but not enough answers! I can't wait to find out how this series arc continues...Well done Chibnall, you've really given us something to think about!
This was the best episode of Jodie's so far. Mainly loved the parts with Jack. But please relax all the dialogues. We spent half the episode in literally 3 locations and just watching characters talk.
Would you rather none of the characters speak in a TV show?
@@RobTFilms please read my comment again. Thank you.
