no matter what I do, when I click 'create' on the initial Tiled Clone, the circle is cloned all the way down the page but it is all the same exact size and color. In the tutorial, it appears as though the circle changes in size from small to large (which is what I want) I just cant seem to figure out what you did to make this happen. Spent hours trying to get this to work today, and made zero progress... :(
Awesome, thanks for share. For one moment I expected that you will cut the quad in layer 01 with a path operation, keep eaching clone with a different color because of the gradient. Something like to have a color palete to pointilism draws. But now I think I understand what halftones mean.
Omg Thank you ...I been looking for an updated video on how to make halftones with inkscape... I do have a question though.. how would you bring in the halftones closer ? Say for screenprinting purposes..
Nick, you have now 3 videos on Halftones that explain almost every basic thing we need to create and use them. Thank you so much. I have a question, can we still not create a halftone color separation in Inkscape? For example, if I want to create a draw, photo, SVG etc. in color on a t-shirt or any surface with ink or any object for that matter but use color separation for ink, Inkscape still can't make it right?, or can it? For example, Corel draw and AI let the user select color separation with CMYK and separate those colors to create the halftone apart so every halftone it's different from the other, kind of like channel separation and let's you use it one on top of the other for inking or painting or sublimation etc., without applying paint over each other. Do you know how could we do it in Inkscape? Greetings from CHIAPAS MEXICO.
@@LogosByNick Thank you for replying Nick, sadly we're still waiting for that to happen, Adobe and their infinite greedy wisdom. Inkscape for the win, it's still the less resource demanding vector software on the market and the easiest to learn and start using it as a new user with zero experience. Halftones are used in any design that is to be screen printed where a graduation of shading is needed. It's the way gradients are made for that process.
Without your tutorials, my TH-cam thumbnails would still look like crap. You've been a direct influence on my channel getting more views 👍
Amazing, haven't seen any other tutorials explain it this well.

I was here too. Too late to answer, but...make sure you did a black and white gradient, not black and black/transparent gradient.
@@franciscohernandezibanez4648 That fixed the issue I was having. I was really frustrated. Thanks!
Oh man. This makes me love Inkscape even more! Thank you for these tutorials.
Another great tutorial, forever grateful.
Been following your tutorials for years, and long may they continue. Thanks Nick for great tips.
Thanks Nick! Can't wait to watch this.

Thank you ❤ I love this tutorail.
So cool and simple. Didn't know this trick. Thank you.
Thx! That's a very clean solution. I'll be sure to use it, and I migh need it soon.
Thank you very much
Love your videos (and the courses). Is there a way to do this with the circle getting fainter rather than smaller?
Great video, thanks. But how does Inkscape know to create reducing size circles?
@logosbynick Yeah, how do you make the size change progressively?
very good idea 🙂
can you make a halftone like this with a (small) path line (not an object). to use in laser cutting?
love your content Nick
Hey Nick! How do you make halftone globes?

Inkscape can only output files with an RGB color profile (still no CMYK) so unfortunately I don't think what you're describing is possible.

Just so you know Nick. I tried going to your website and it wouldn't let me accept cookies for some reason.
I really enjoy your tutorials, but for this one in particular, what would you use this effect for? It seems kinda pointless.

now what if I only want to add halftones to a part of a drawing, like a persons face, or a dark corner without adding dots to the full page
We are nerds !
😂
I tried to make the same but no works well
Sorry, it is not clear ar all why the dot sizes are changing.
👍
