To Alissa Frederick: Scientists have a great place in Islam. Quran insisted to seek knowledge and to discover the working of the universe and life, Quran also insisted to use the power of reason.
Yet I know many people that deny evolution, because it contradicts with what's written in Q'uran. Even though evolution is a process with well written theory and the evidences that support it.
No. The Abbasid are not even considered Muslims today because of them pushing the liberal Islamic movement. How could a man who called the Prophet Mohammad a con man be muslim. In the Quaran it says that the semen comes from the back bone. Do some research.
Science is about debate and asking critical questions. Islam is anti-science in it's core. It needs submission and forces everyone to accept their fake answers. To muslims there is no distinction between belief and knowledge. This video and the claims made in the comment section are stupid and rude lies. I enjoy watching muslims make a fool out of themselves.

+p1x3lman The Arabs actually invented what is called the decimal system, which is used to express basically every number. They based it on the Indian Place Value system and used symbols for each number. It was through arab books that Fibonacci made the modern numerical system. And he called them Arabic numerals for the same reason
The most interesting thing to add here for all people is that the word of (Techni) is English word adopted by the Latin language from Arabic word (Tekni تقني) same pronunciation same meaning! Tekin-ya تقنية in Arabic is Techn-ology in English. As well as adoption of many Arabic scientific terms such as (Madda-Matter)(Atob-adobe)(Alkohol-Alcohol)(Algebr-algebra)(Alkili-alkali)(Kalib-caliber)(karat-Carat)(Khemiya-chemistry)(kotton-cotton)(Jar'a-Jar)(mommia-mummy)(Safari and Sahara-same)(Soffa-sofa)(sogar-sugar)(Makhzan-Magazine)(cata-Cut)(Doown-Down)(kandel-Candel)(Gaid-Guide) and many! That the Arabic influence. Tnx
Hi. 'Techne' is a Greek word. The Arabic تقني comes ultimately from the the Greek τέχνη . But you're right about the etymology of some of the others, such as 'algebra'. 'chemistry', alcohol', etc.

When Muslims adhered to the teachings of the revelation from God (The Quran) from which the first verse revealed started with "Read", Muslim scientists were so many and invented the foundation of all sciences. Also, Muslims lead the whole world in science and civilization. You can look up other scholars and the Al-Andalus.
Aaron Richards Well, it is Islam that gave knowledge to Europe when it was in dark ages. So, periods of history are called something. The period of Islam and Muslims are called by that. There are schools called Muslim schools and some schools are Christian Baptist schools. You have to call these scientist Muslims and no, not all lived in Middle east my friend. The reason why knowledge exploded under Islam was because Islam came to emphasize learning and knowledge. So a typical Muslim Scholar was also a physician and scientist and poet all in one man (amazing).
ReadAboutJesus InQuran lol then why is there no invention of any modern technology by muslims in the last 500 years? Also ibn al haytham wasnt a muslim by sunni muslim criteria cause he was part of the mutazali School which questioned the quran as the word of god.
which questioned the quran as the word of god. And, what was the answer? Did they find evidence muhammeds alla is the only real god and everybody else is lying? Scientifically proving god exists is one thing, proving muhammed was right and everybody else was wrong is another.
@@worfoz Actually it does not. The science of kalam, akl and the fitna which is predicted in many kitab al fitn, is for you. Muslims base their belief upon the proofs for Muhammad (PBUH) to be the Messenger.
@@Larrypint Why do you think there's an absence of scientific discoveries made by Muslims in the last 500 years? Where's the proof of its absence? Presently we still use his scientific system of disproving theories (not proving theories and hypothesises) based on probability frameworks, observations, analytical experiments and controlled testings. Nothing is proven or confirmed indefinitely, albiet all theories that have been made manifest and probable, aligns exactly to the Qu'ranic teachings. The closer I systematically investigate science in all interdisciplinary domains, the closer I become with God (Allah). Hasan Ibn Haytham setting new standards in experimental science with the publication of "The Book of Optics" in 1027 and influencing scientists in the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Enlightenment period is incredible, he was the first person to realise that light enters the eye, rather than leaving it. This theory has not been disproved until this day. One thousand years ago until this technological developed modern day advanced phenomenon and ironically we still implement and utilize his theological systematics and has been assured so far as the most effective method since the 11th century. Verily he has truly followed the Words of Almighty Allah. May Allah reward him in Bounty and allow disbelievers to be guided. Yusuf Ali transliteration version: "And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning)."(17:36) Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, a 9th century Muslim even invented Algebra in the field of Mathematics. As again still utilizing his modus aperendi till this day. Ma sha Allah. Muslims founded coffee, clocks, cameras, domestic economics, Universities, flying machines, surgical instrumemts, maps and music! This is what we still use in every day life and thanks to the pioneers for manufacturing a use to these essentials we have been bestowed. And Allah knows Best
alla did not even know that earth is not flat, alla did not know what a bible is or a book, alla did not know how to create planes... muhamed believed in the evil eye too, an ancient idea that we throw glances, like a bat generates sounds and "sees" the echoes. It was not just "light" that was emitted, they believed it was some magic energy, and could be an evil and dangerous force; muhamedans are often told to fear people who "cast the evil eye". Even today most muhamedans believe in this backward pagan idea because this is what islam still teaches today. Do it's funny how you praise a muslim who proved islam wrong, and it's sad that you muhamedans lie to yourself like this: Hasan Ibn Haytham wrote "The Book of Optics" to show muhamedans that evil eye is nonsense, the told muhamedans that we should study nature, modern muhamedans still reject his science and still prefer the lies in their quran above the facts as proven by scientific study. Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a Persian follower of Zoroaster, NOT a muhamedan, why do you lie about him? And all these other lies, why do you parrot so many lies, my lost and evil friend? Coffee was not "founded" you idiot, this whole list of lies, do you need to lie? we know better that to believe any of muhameds lies and you can be jealous all you want, your pagan magic mindset of claiming things you they wlll be yours does not work Read Hasan Ibn Haytham's "The Book of Optics" you backward idiot, look at your sect of magic thieves, you wizard terrorists.... You still use the pagan demon alla to steal and claim what's not yours, yes, we non-muslims created flying machines, you pagans are not able to invent anything. So you use false claims, like an arab desert pagan believing that your "evil eye" and your jealousy gives you ownership over what you desire... The teachings of a mad man, a villain, a fraud quran.com/68/51 NOTHING you mention is invented or created by muhamedans, making claims does not work in the real world, muhamed fooled you with his magic tricks and now you all have become backward liars. The ONLY way you can make claims is by being truthful, look tat the Jews and Christians: their prophets were no mad magicians, these people are truthful, they do science so they work first, and then when their work is dome, and only then they CLAIM the fruits of their work. They don't need lies like you followers of fraud magician muhamed And therefore the non-muslims invented algebra, planes, surgical instruments, they did ALL the work by you imitate your fake magician and magically claims their work as yours. Superstitious pagans, read books, read Hasan Ibn Haytham "The Book of Optics", just looking at things and making claims is what pagans believe to work. Europe was in the dark ages but the Muslims were experiencing an entire golden age. Thinkers who were household names and well respected fat and wide. Religion was nourishing the sprits of Muslim men and as a direct consequence science and technology and thought flourished in the golden age. Ibn Haitham (ibn hacen as he’s also known) is noted in chaucers Canterbury tales as one of the greatest scientists. He was a household name at the time. Not only did he influence great thinkers who came after him such as Gallileo, Leonardo Da Vinci and many others, he lay the foundation for the scientific method and is known as one of the first scientists, understanding optics in a way that was unique to what was taught before him. Europe owed a lot of its advancements to the Muslims living in the golden age who’s work they translated into Latin and thus learnt from. Thanks to his understanding of how optics work, his book Kitab Munadir and other works, we can today appreciate objects such as the telescope, camera and other inventions which Hacen contributed to understanding significantly.
The oldest university in the world is in Fez, Morocco. It is an Islamic University that a student won't get accepted unless he has memorized the whole Quran. The University of al-Qarawiyyin or al-Karaouine.
I always wished we learned more about this side of history in my high school. Maybe I will in college; it's an important topic that isn't paid nearly enough attention to.
(I'm Arab) SO impressed by how well you pronounced his name. People usually just butcher Arab names to make them sound super Western. A+ Thank you so much for this, you made the topic really intriguing and interesting. I'd also like to add that a LOT of people forget how much Muslim Arabs have contributed to science, so this video is much appreciated.
DanRezler: That dude was brilliant as you said. The question is why there are no brilliant Muslim dudes nowdays. The answer is those scholars were very close to God and highly religious plus wasted no time in learning and studies. Time was so valuable. The first clock was invented by Muslims was given as a gift to Charlemagne and when he heard it ticking he got scared thinking it had spirit. He never saw such a thing before. If I may add also that the Muslim ruler at time had regular meetings with poets, scientists, and writers and offered prizes for good work. One of the Muslim Caliphates Harun al-Rashid at the time exchanged gifts with Charlemagne and he is actually the one who gave him the clock made of water and brass (automatic) that I mentioned earlier.

Allah continues to prove to humans that he is the LORD by displaying so many miracles in all sciences; Biology, Geology, Astronomy and the science of fingerprinting.
That's very true about the math, but actually we should probably more properly call them "Indian Numbers" or "Hindu Numbers" because the numbering system originated in India as early as 300 BCE and then passed to Arabia through Persian scholars in India. The system slowly made it's way West after that. It seems obvious to us now, but until you have an efficient system of numbering, advanced math is extraordinarily difficult. Thanks for watching!
DanRezler the Arabic numbers are based off geometry. For example the symbol 0 has no angle it's a circle, so it means zero or no angles. the symbol 1 has one angle at the top therefore it's number one. The symbol 2 was originally transcribed this way ; *Z* it has two angles one in the top and one in the bottom so it represents number two, And so on...
hei idioto greeks and romans were in india way before muslims. they did not find their awesome numbers. infact arabs were using these numbers even before islam.
In Basra, he was preparing for a religious civil service job. He grew more and more unhappy with religious studies and decided that none of the religions revealed truth. This is why he switched to science and entirely discarded religious studies. While the Islamic Golden Age assimilated scientific knowledge from far corners and patronized scientists, religion itself was not the impetus for science. The importance of science and truth as a cultural value of the Arabs played a much larger part than Islam itself.
"decided that none of the religions revealed truth", I think that's twisted because in another source it says "he thought about the conflicting religious views of the various religious movements and came to the conclusion that none of them represented the truth" So I think he made his decision based on the conflicting views within Islam itself So he judged people views of the religion not the religion itself, it makes a huge difference Sorry but maybe you're basing your opinion on a twisted fact!
I think I know which source you are talking about. The math history one? I've been looking up information on him for a research project in books (not that I'm saying websites can't be trusted), and it seems that he disliked organized religion itself. He continued to be a Muslim, though. He had a different theological standpoint than others. He felt that science was the only way to empirical truth about everything, including god's creation.
Young Stalin's father was clergy and as seemingly the better way to survive there and then he attempted to follow footsteps. They beat the #* out of him. Hence his mantra, beat a man to break him. So sorry about that.
btw where did you find that information? ''He grew more and more unhappy with religious studies and decided that none of the religions revealed truth.'' You need to educate yourself some more on this topic because what you're saying is just the opposite of what is being taught everywhere.

Thank you for the video, pal. No doubt that if you remove ISIS from the picture for a second you'll get to know that Islam/Quran brought a great paradigm shift to science and technology. I may sound bias but the Quran explicitly talks about doing research, use your intellect instead of blind following.
but the Quran explicitly talks about doing research, use your intellect instead of blind following. Really? What version of the quran do you use then? And how does 16:79 sound in your book? islam has answers to everything, it even explains how birds fly, how life started and who wrote the quran. no matter hwat question, the answer in islam is: by the power of alla, alla knows best, alla is the explanation of everything this is the opposite of science, and muslims are unable to do science for this reason knowledge in islam means to know what alla wants, everything that contradicts that is a lie in islam islam is submission and being a muslim means accept quran as ultimate truth and fight everything that contradicts is science is using the scientific method and as it happens, science rejects 16:79 and science rejects the myth of creation science explains phenomena, with natural laws and principles and without any god did it explanation so basically, everything you said is completely wrong, islam never had any influence on science and the quran discourages it because it already explains everything with this alla

Well, Creeks came before Islam in history. So, it is not Muslims fault that Creeks were born before them LOL. But, read this from history: Optics began with the development of lenses by the ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians, followed by theories on light and vision developed by ancient Greek and Indian philosophers, and the development of geometrical optics in the Greco-Roman world. The word optics is derived from the Greek term τα ὀπτικά which refers to matters of vision.[1] Optics was significantly reformed by the developments in the medieval Islamic world, such as the beginnings of physical and physiological optics, and then significantly advanced in early modern Europe, where diffractive optics began. These earlier studies on optics are now known as "classical optics". The term "modern optics" refers to areas of optical research that largely developed in the 20th century, such as wave optics and quantum optics.

They forbid rational speculation, and strive to kill their adversaries. This is why truth became thoroughly silenced and concealed. 'A lot of the time it seems that region & science are two opposing forces that have never gotten along but...' BUT!? The very story you are citing here demonstrates a scientist locked up as a madman by someone YOU described as the Mad Caliph (a Caliph is a theocratic leader). Yes the Islamic state DID produce some science simply because it had all the power & money therefore that was the only game in town. What happened to Ibn Al-Haytham under Islam also happened to other great scientists like Galileo who was locked up by the Catholic Church (who also had all the power & money) but as soon as a men of evidence i.e. scientists, could prove the men faith i.e. theocracies, were WRONG did they respond by saying 'Oh thanks for your proof we had better reconsider'? NO they either got them to retract their evidence & locked them up OR killed them if they refused. Even the Pope told Professor Stephen Hawking he should not examine the Big Bang. - Faith by it's very nature stifles scientific progress & it is still doing it today. Science is certain of nothing & requires proof of everything. Religion is certain of everything & requires proof of nothing.
+Logic Reason Evidence caliph did not improsened him for theocractic reason but for other reasons ,there was not such thing as church and science war in early islamic history when knowledge was translated from indian and greek sources,in fact that was the caliph haroon ur rashid who intiated these translation compaigns, although there was difference between muslim scientists and theological leaders but thats was by and large on books there was not such a kind of burning of scientists in islam infact the big blow inflicted on science in muslim world was not buy sword but instead by writing against the scientific thinking and IMAM GHAZALI was the big name in it who argued successfully against scientific and philosiphacal thinking, under haroon ur rashid there were many non muslims scientists who were working,i think there is twist and mistake in ur argument................................
+Muhammad Aamir the al-ghazali part has to be corrected, brother. I'm sure you got that from Mr neil de grasse tyson but he actually made a mistake. al ghazali was himself a polymath who regarded math as the creator of all civilizations. He hardly had any influence on Islamic scientists and they continued to exist right upto the 1200s, when the crusades , reconquista and mongol invasions destroyed islamic infrastructure and left Muslim rulers too weak to consider promoting science in the face of war and destruction. Not to mention, the libraries of basra ,baghdad, andalusia, etc etc that were pillaged and burnt, leaving few books to build further research on. There were countless quotes from various Persian philosophers who challenged the dogmatic views of Islam at that time. Please educate yourself on the real history of the so called “golden age of Islam”.
@الظلام علي the Persian and the Arab enlightenment era was heavily influenced by the Greek philosophers. After the collapse of Rome, the Arab and Persian world had an influx of knowledge adopted from the older civilizations. That’s when that region was the most open minded and flourishing, all thanks to commerce. Look it up. Golden age of “Islam” wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the Greek philosophy and philosophy from other civilizations (even all the way from ancient China). Islam had nothing to do with it. Scientists have a great place in Islam.
Meisam Ansarian are you sure about that? The most religious scholars came from the Abbasid area.
Science is about debate and asking critical questions.
Islam is anti-science in it's core. It needs submission and forces everyone to accept their fake answers.

It was the dark ages for Europe but the Islamic world was thriving. Let that sink in

If I may add also that the Muslim ruler at time had regular meetings with poets, scientists, and writers and offered prizes for good work.

"decided that none of the religions revealed truth", I think that's twisted because in another source it says "he thought about the conflicting religious views of the various religious movements and came to the conclusion that none of them represented the truth"
So I think he made his decision based on the conflicting views within Islam itself
So he judged people views of the religion not the religion itself, it makes a huge difference
Sorry but maybe you're basing your opinion on a twisted fact!

Really?
What version of the quran do you use then?
And how does 16:79 sound in your book?
islam has answers to everything, it even explains how birds fly, how life started and who wrote the quran.
no matter hwat question, the answer in islam is:
by the power of alla, alla knows best, alla is the explanation of everything
this is the opposite of science, and muslims are unable to do science for this reason
knowledge in islam means to know what alla wants, everything that contradicts that is a lie in islam
islam is submission and being a muslim means accept quran as ultimate truth and fight everything that contradicts is
science is using the scientific method and as it happens, science rejects 16:79 and science rejects the myth of creation
science explains phenomena, with natural laws and principles and without any god did it explanation

Well, Creeks came before Islam in history. So, it is not Muslims fault that Creeks were born before them LOL.
But, read this from history:
Optics began with the development of lenses by the ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians, followed by theories on light and vision developed by ancient Greek and Indian philosophers, and the development of geometrical optics in the Greco-Roman world.

The very story you are citing here demonstrates a scientist locked up as a madman by someone YOU described as the Mad Caliph (a Caliph is a theocratic leader).

I suggest you watch the 3 episodes of "Science and Islam" by BBC (can be found here on TH-cam) for more info on this topic
Why most muslim scientist were Persian non from Mecca or Arabia even Iraq was a Persian territory and Capital of Persian empire south of Baghdad for over 700 years including Basra a territory close to Shushtar a old Persian town were the first hospital was build in Persian Sassanian dynasty ???
Yeah that is why only Abbasi and Omaye family are the rulers of empire it is all untrue explanation. It is and was a dictatorship under the name of God
Do not indulge in division

Yup, it’s cool seeing where genshin draws their inspirations for their names
Islamic Golden Age didn't start and end with Abbasids.
Algebra was invented by a Muslim, stop being so jelous !!!!

Religion and science are opposed and will always be. It does not matter at all that people are religious and care about and do science.
I doubt you even read the Qur'an. Many assume Christianity and Islam are the same, they are not.
not really lol ,the more one understands Science, the more religious that person gets. The first scientists leading up-to modern science were all religious and they were motivated by religion.
My ancestor... Alhamdolilah🤲😍
He was able to be scientific because at this time people didn't care much about Islam. When they started to care again, they lost science. Ibn Al-Haytham kind of dismissed the prophet.
There is an ancient Sumerian myth about Oannes, a godly fish man that came out of the sea to educated the people about everything. Many Sumerian myths are copied to the bible but there is no biblical version of Oannes, only prophets who claim to have a message for The God.
But this "notion" that we are ignorant unless we listen to god is part of abrahamic religions. God only knows or alla knows best, and everything we need to know is in The Book.
@@worfoz Which religion do you follow?
Lol ideot he the guy who wrote tafseer for Qur'an 🤦🏼♂️
Was he black i mean thats how he got his nick name the black bird and he was known for his black skin color
It was not black, maybe you mean one of those:
1_ Dhul-Nun Al-Misri: 796 AC a chemist who helped establish modern chemistry in Baghdad, an Islamic cleric and the first scholar to succeed in deciphering half of the hieroglyphs
, he was a NUBIAN
2_ Al-Jahiz: 868 AC philosopher and zoologist
, His skin was black but he claimed to be Arab, However, his nephew mentioned that Al-Jahiz is African black
3_Ziryab: 789 AC a musician and chemist who was able to make the first deodorant and the first toothpaste in history, his name means beautiful blackbird has a nice voice.
4_ Subaih al-Aswad: He was mentioned in a Sufi book and it appears that he was ideal of the quality of his chemistry
5_ Ali Ibn Al-Radwan: The famous Egyptian doctor was one who was Egyptian black. He wrote a lot of books in medicine, most of which are lost, when the governor of Baluchistan call him for partial paralysis, recovered, This proves unrivaled versatility in medicine.
He was also an accomplished astronomer, and at the age of eighteen he was able to locate the location of the supernova with great accuracy
6_ Ibn Al-Yasmeen: Ibn Al-Yasmeen may not have been creative in the field of mathematics, but he was famous for his skill in applying what the others had accomplished. he was black amazigh, his mother from Congo
All of those were black, other than the scholars of Timbuktu civilization in Mali, Unfortunately, some of their remaining achievements in science have not yet been studied
Nonsense, Ibn al-Haytham lived in the Abbasid and Fatimid era, both of which are Arab dynasties!
@@ammaraimene Al-Hassan Ibn Al-Haytham is an indigenous Iraqi, with a Sumerian or Babylonian origin

Why call Islamic Golden age 'SO CALLED'?
because the worshipers of this so-called prophet are so-called liars making so-called false claims
on our so-called internet with so-called free speech
but we have so-called cartoon books so we know the so-called truth
does islam have internet too?
You wrong: In fact, not only does experimental optics go back at least as far as Ptolemy (2nd century AD). Even Al-Haytham's works themselves were based on those of Greek and Christian predecessors. His important theory of optics was also based on "Aristotelian concepts, Euclidean geometry and the religious-philosophical school of Mu'tazila". By sunni muslim criteria ,he wasnt even a Muslim cause he was part of mutazali school. Which questioned the quran as the word of god.
He was an ashari and they were against mutazila. And he still came up with the scientific method because of Quran.
I know you don't like it but it's reality 😂
@@ahlulhadith6367 the scientific method is opposite of blindly accepting this quran

but this is NOT islam:

bt crusador n mongol destroyed everything
because alla wanted that to happen
The base of new science is the Muslim scientist
lol, so why do all muhamedans fail in scienec?
*not first scientist
He was first scientist who first used the scientific method.
That's it i ain't doing science anymore..
Why? Because an Arab started it? Does your racism help you convince yourself that anyone loves you?
I’m an ex muslims and this is pure bogus. Islam had no part to play in science. These were independent thinkers who actually questioned superstition and Islam itself even back then.
Islam just coincidentally happened to be the religion of that time (and it was still in its infancy to take full grasp over the culture). Unfortunately Islam has now taken over those cultures and their people’s minds. Those regions have now been plagued with nothing but pseudoscience and superstitions. And that’s only when they’re not too busy killing each other in the name of some imaginary “god”.
Idiots like you never learn. Your opinions don't matter, because it's not about being a Muslim or an Ex-Muslim, but rather what evidence do we have about Hasan Ibn Haytham being the first scientist. Do some research before speaking nonsense. We have solid evidence of him being the first scientist. Have a nice day, Leo Joker
@@rafayshakeel4812 hat evidence do we have about Hasan Ibn Haytham being the first scientist
Yes, and your "evidence" is angry nonsense and you are so pissed because of that
You have anger, in islam, anger is proof.
but we talk about science so you humiliated yourself
"I’m an ex muslims..." --- Oh! Yeah LOL :D
