Been watching Maangchi since 2017 and I absolutely love that she even films it when she washes the vegetables, her hands and the chopping board. It really makes me feel involved in the entire process. Love the videos Maangchi!
This is one of my favorite side dishes. My mom still makes it for me whenever I visit her. After all these years, she still sees me as a child, LOL (she's in her late 70s). I love her version of course, since I grew up with it. Using scallions and 김 (seaweed, nori) and some other veggies, it really hits the spot. All I need is steamy white rice, kimchi, and rolled omelette. Simple, yet perfect meal.
@@gilbertmiranda5329 It's salted and fermented vegetables, most typically cabbage, and quite flavorful. It's also fairly spicy. It's usually eaten alongside most Korean meals or can even be the focus of the meal. It's very good for the gut.
Maangchi just made my life a whole lot easier. I just realized I neglected to make myself dinner earlier, and wasn't sure what to make. I'm going to have this alongside my homemade pork mandu, some ramyun, kimchi and rice.
Its also made in Europe, egg omelett with white onion and pepper is loved everywhere. Sometimes we role it but dont cut. Sometimes we cut it very small and put it into clear soup, Its so nice to have something in common with the world.
After watching this video I had to make it . I did it turned out beautifully. The only thing I did different was add garlic and the American in me wouldn't let me skip melting sharp cheddar cheese on top. Super easy, delicious, and filling.
Thank you so much I had no idea what to do for Mother’s Day until I saw this video and my mom likes omelettes though sadly there weren’t any vegetables so I just made a plain omelette with salt, black pepper and some basil on top 🌿
I always wonder how this was made! my husband's uncle's wife made similar and now I know you have to add little egg mix by little egg mix while rolling. I want to try this recipe for sure and later give to my son when he attends primary school. There are some dishes, I wish I learned from my grandma, but I am thankful you are sharing what you learned from your grandma!
I see this in a lot of korean dramas, thanks for teaching me how it is prepared. I love the sight of korean side dishes, so lovely and colourful. I will taste korean food one day.
This is such a good recipe. I usually make it as a main dish, with 1.5x or 2x the ingredients. I had extra time today, so I tried different vegetables. I used onion, spring onion, carrots, mushroom, 1 clove of garlic, salt and black pepper. I also swapped oil for butter - I used a good chunk of butter at the beginning so I didn't need to keep adding oil. Altogether
Tried it for the first time and it came out perfect as in Maangchi's video. Great job and thanks for a great recipe. This is the first time I've tried a Korean recipe! Super!
I tried this today with my wife. Additionally we added fresh green chilli, red chilli pieces and fish chips. It was so great and delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

Thank you Maangchi ! I made this dish tonight for my husband and me and we loved it. I could eat eggs every day so I was looking to a different way to serve them and was very happy about your recipe. Well explained ad easy to make indeed!
So good to see you and such nice quick, simple, versatile recipe!!! If anyone doesn't or can't eat eggs like me, obviously you can use an egg sub, but I made a chickpea flour version (1 part chickpea flour, to 1 part water or broth, and blended it well to get out the lumps and make it fluffy). Pour and cook (low and slow) just like the egg, it was yummy! (I did it on my Griddler so didn't have to keep adding to it. It was rounder but still yummy!)
Maangchi, I’m sure that university 힐머니 is so proud of how far you’ve come on TH-cam and in your life! I love Gyeran Mari, I’ll definitely be making this.
Just made this. Used shallots as regular onion here is very strong and not really sweet. Was amazing. Loved it! Onion is a great addition to keep it moist and crunchy!
I'm not gifted when it comes to cooking but I followed your simple guide and now, my family has been praising me ever since. Thank you very much! PS: Your grandmother is the greatest!
hi Maangchi! My mom has basically made me grow up with your videos and recipes! thank you for keeping my mom and i connected to our culture, we live far from South Korea so I also want to thank you for reconnecting my mom with korean culture, thank you!
I've been making omelettes for decades, and they have always been poor. Usually burned on the bottom, or dry, or all the filling at one end. But, I also make crepes a lot, and my crepes are very good. It never occurred to me that I could make an omelette like a crepe. It would be too thin, I thought. Not if I roll it. Now I can actually make a decent omelette, thanks to this simple recipe.
Maangchi, I tried this recipe just now and it was amazing. We ate it with a dip made out of soya sauce, salt and sesame oil.... Waahh.... It was soo good.... 😌😌Thank you so much Maangchi 😘🤩😌💖🤩
That's really neat the way you kept adding more. Have you ever tried it with homemade chorizo, cheddar cheese and diced pickled jalapeno peppers? I'll have to try that sometime, thanks.
as I watched you start, i was... "ok, it's an omelette" - but as you carried on, "wait, why are you being so precise with how you place the mixture....?" as you proceeded, wow, i see where you're going - this is amazing - slow cook rolling an omelette is awesome! I look forward to trying it soon! thanks heaps - love your channel!
I wish I can make this for my daughter. I love the sound of your voice, sounds like a song. I have been smiling throughout your presentation. I have subscribed already.
I always refrained myself from making these rolls as I don’t have that square shaped pan , but your video gives me hope now☺️. My omelette is almost like yours. Apart from onion and capsicum, i also add green chillies, coriander leaves and sometimes Italian seasonings to it .I will try to turn it into a roll on my round shaped pan now.
I bought a cheap, but still decent, tamagoyaki pan from Daiso so that's an option that others might also find helpful. Tamagoyaki is basically the Japanese version of this and the pan is rectangular. Also, if you mix your eggs in a measuring bowl, you can pour straight from there in batches because the spout makes it easy. I haven't been putting onions in mine, but will try it. Thank you Maangchi!
You made a perfect omelette, and you mAde it look so easy. My Mom used to make a shrimp eggroll, using the egg omelette. She didn not use the wanton wrap. Everybody loved the shrimp egroll. I never tried making it.
Omg! I will make this for my bulgogi side dish tomorrow! What a good idea for childrens lunch box! Will do that too! Thank you for this video you are so talented!
