@@chrisoconnor2260 I got both pairs.......I've been buying those long tongue sambas longer than the VEGANS SAMBAS terrrrrrrrrible...... I can tell when I wear the shit outta of both sambas and the long tongue sambas last longer it's in the grip hiyah
I literally just bought a pair of the Samba classic and I really like them. To be honest though I have a wider foot so I think I should have gone a size up. Either way I love the look of them and hope they last forever.
I've been wearing Sambas for over a decade now. My last pair is about four years old. Leather is a bit scuffed up, but still holding together strong. Soles have been ground flat at the heels from walking, but haven't worn through or separated from the leather. The cloth lining has torn and frayed at the heel, but remains intact throughout the sides. This pair has long since graduated to yard work duty, but refuses to die. Solid, well-made shoes, specially for the price. Hopefully yours hold up just as well.
I have the black Classics and bought them like over 8 years ago. They are till this day my favorite pair to wear. I love them even more because it seems I'm the only one in Australia with the classics. Everyone seems to be rockin the OG's. It seems they don't sell the Classics here? I really don't know but makes mine feel that much special seeing as I bought mine in Los Angeles where I'm from. I love the long tongue bit. Even my Aussie husband said they look better because of it. Ayeee
I prefer the classics too, cause of the tongue and slightly chunkier design. I think this gives them more personality, where as the ogs compare more to your average white minimal sneaker.
I own both. The Classics feel higher quality. Slightly thicker leather. Slightly thicker/harder compound rubber sole. The Classics have a little bit of a break in period but will outlast the OGs. The OG feel the most comfortable out of the box. Also the OG has softer rubber outsole so it will grip a little better. Strangely enough, IMO the OGs are better for indoor soccer due to the slightly thinner leather and sole, gripper rubber, and no break in period.
i bought a pair of classics yesterday, and they broke in within an hour or two of long walking. they're snug but hella comfortable. esp for 90$. the large tongue grew on me and the cheaper price tag made it a no brainer. i honestly want to try playing soccer in these ngl. theyd probably still hold up. the adidas predator right next to them didnt seem that much more advanced.
Classics go on really good sales, I got a pair that was returned but still had the tags off amazon for 38 bucks. They are a "chunkier" shoe then the OG but I sort of like that. Also the arch support is easily removable if thats something that bothers you. You literally just take out the insole and then peel that light blue foam part off and you got a comfy flat shoe that will last you years.
Excellent video. I was concerned that my new Adidas were fake, because the tongue was completely different than pictures I was seeing online for the same shoe. Now I know there's two different versions. Appreciate the education.
I like the color of the Classics way better but I’m looking for a shoe I can wear more casually and for training. If I remove the arch support thing on the insole, will the Classics have the same heel toe drop as the OGs? I’m looking for the flattest shoe for weightlifting and stuff while still wearing it casually.
The arch support in the classics is very easy to remove, without affecting the comfort negatively (if you notice the arch is uncomfortable). It peels off very easy with no tools.
They've reduced the size of the tongue by 40% in their new batches. I just got mine today and the tongue doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like yours do. They actually look better than the Samba OGs now. I'm really happy with them.
The biggest thing for me with the classics is the tongue personally I think it’s one of the ugliest tongues on a shoe I’ve ever seen don’t know why it’s so big like that . I think they did it right with the og
Now with those big tongues on Samba's and the Busenitz they give you a dotted line to follow if you want to cut the tongue to normal size. I don't buy the big tongue on either models I spoke of if possible.
You don't have to cut the tongue.. Just search 'how to shorten the samba classic tongue' it's easy no cutting involved and you don't even feel it. I thought I was going to feel it and you literally don't feel it..
I have a pair of samba adv shoes, from adidas skateboarding line. They look like og version with better insole, tongue elastic and feel a bit stiffer. The toe has the same toe color like the classic ones
Nice Dream 0_0 i find them a bit more comfortable, better materials at first they were so stuff but now they are loose and if I had to rathe the comfort is between the campus and Stan Smith, not as great compared with Forum
Which one should you buy? Unless you have narrow feet and a small/thin frame, your feet would look like a burrito. Unfortunately, i returned my Samba and opted for Spezial instead.
If you just fold the toungue over, set it to the side, or cut it off completely the samba classics are just miles better. You don't get that squeaking from the synthetic leather tongue, and you get a bit more arch support.
Got my first Samba Classic (Black) way back in 1996, its tongue is short. And doesn't look like shiny, more like Puma Suede. I wish Adidas will bring back the old Samba.
I like the classic’s a littl better. I just bought the Dill samba’s a couple days ago. As much as I love them I still like my classic’s just a little bit more.
Are there any sizing differences between the ogs and the classics? I once tried on a pair of og in US12 and they fit great. Should I go for the same size with the classics?
I'm still trying to hunt down the sky blue striped ones. I have black, green and red striped samba's. I can't locate the Sky blues anywhere. GOAT has them pictured, but they're always unavailable.
Aren't those the vegan leather on the OG's? The leather ones have even darker coloured outsoles, close to the classics and the vegan version has lighter coloured outsoles
Hello, i have once tried on a pair of wales bonner samba US 5 mens and the fit perfectly. Are they the same sizing with og sambas? Bc im looking to buy one of those
Dumb question. I normally wear corks (logging boots with metal spiked soles) for 12 hrs. I have flat feet bad ankles & broke my foot in the Navy back in 1992. Anyway I was visiting a friend who told me to take my corks off in her kitchen, loaned me her pair of Classic by the tongue shape. How durable are these? I either wear my corks or go barefoot. Will they last more than a month if all I would do is wear them after work to go grocery shopping?
@@johnvelas70 should last a very long time since you don’t wear them that much and also the classics are actually made for indoor soccer so they were made with durability in mind.
It means original but actually it's not.. The classic is the original and the OG is a stripped down slightly and I mean slightly sleeker version of the classic. It's funny how it costs more but the quality of the classic is actually a little better.
I have the RM model with the boost sole, it's a cream white color without stripes, it's an awesome shoe!! I just ordered another pair, the skate model with the long tongue It's not my favorite adidas along with the gazelles and the Forum mid's
Correction Samba Classics now retail for $90 while the Samba OGs retail for $100.
but which one is the vegan sambas ..... because those are the worst sambas
Hey they make the Samba OG soccer version with the short tongue. It wasn’t shared in the video

Og are more comfortable and tight to the foot ..classics feel more bulky and toe box feels bigger too

The Classic tongue can be worn with the tongue folded toward the toe cap, giving it the sleeker look without needing to cut the tongue/label off.
Thanks for your helpful tip
I prefer the classics too, cause of the tongue and slightly chunkier design. I think this gives them more personality, where as the ogs compare more to your average white minimal sneaker.

Probably not its probably slightly different shades from shoe to shoe.
What about sizing? Any recommendations for wide feet?
