it's originally designed for indoor football game. So, the construction reflects the original purpose, slim, thin, and tight to maintain control and feedback of the ball. Those who used to cushy running or basketball sneakers might found it uncomfortable.
If you ever where cleats you will get the same tight feeling they are made to be tight so that when you play soccer you can move quickly. Also the little cushioning in the foot is to get a goof feeling for the ground. Btw soccer shoes not sneakers. This I like someone saying slippers are not good running shoes
How is it compared to the classic All Stars? I grew up with those, and didn't start buying Nike and other brands until 2015. Sinve these are more narrow, and I have small, but wide feet, yet I got no issues with the All Stars in that regard even though they are a bit narrow.
He's probably American... so soccer (as much as I hate calling it that. Mostly because biden called it soccer. Yes am American)- I'll scratch what I said just now
@@kilipaki87oritahitiI wear all stars one day and sambas the other. They are very similar sambas are more noticeably tighter around the sides. Especially since it’s got real leather. After a day of wearing them converse all stars do feel more comfortable at the sides.
Been wearing these shoes for over a decade regardless of the hype or not. I have owned og and classics. The materials have gotten worse and prices have gone up thanks to hype, but even still these shoes have lasted me years of daily hardwear. I have traveled around the world in a pair and probably walked tens of thousands of kilos in them, easily my favorite shoe of all time

@@savagewafflegaming8376 they aren't the most comfortable shoe out there, there is not a lot of padding in them so they can be somewhat hard, but it has never stopped me from wearing them and walking in them
I have wide feet and I keep going back to the sambas, These are one of the few full natural leather sneakers out there, What a lot of people don’t know is that the leather will stretch and mold to your foot, and I’m not sure if this was intended by adidas or not but even the outsole expands, after like a month these shoes will feel like slipper, they don’t have cushion but they provide good natural movement when walking.
Should you size up or even half a size up?

@@jkl1202I bought my true size, and after like a month, they feel absolutely perfect. I do have a kind of wider feet atleast I think so. But if you are really concerned about the size and have a wide feet, you can go half a size up. I think sambas need a bit of time to open up. So don't worry too much.

I find them narrow
as a decently tall girl with slim-ish feet, i really love these sneakers, obviously its different for everybody but if you have similar features to me, they look really good.

The materials on these regular ones are pretty dogshit, I just bought the Kith ones mainly for the upgraded leathers. I know the comfort is nonexistent though.
I totally agree with you in all aspects! I fell into the hype and got them too and feel like my foot is too wide and bursting out of them and there’s absolutely no cushion 😭
That’s because they’re no supposed to be used as sneakers. They are indoor soccer shoes. They are made to be responsive to the ball.

@@jortega61924 different sports, different needs. you need a tight responsive feel for football, especially the indoor game or variants like futsal. basketball calls for a still responsive, yet more comfortable feel. the best way to explain that is trying to play futsal in jordan 1s then trying to play in sambas, the differences become very clear

These were originally designed for SOCCER players, specifically indoor soccer players, so “foot close to the ball” was the design’s primary goal (no pun intended)
“Bigger” guys or gals will have a hard time w these because they’ll usually have wider feet, and these are typically geared for trimmer folks, that typically have “bonier” or narrower feet
So size up? Half size? or full size?
Other words not suited for big Fat person. Its nice for thinner people
Looks depends on the person who wears it, it might not good for you but nice for me.
Adidas need to release something for the narrow foot person a Samba with wide toebox

Samba is a nostalgic shoes of the 90's, most of the people who bought sambas has an old pair before and just want to have the shoes again today.
I’m an EE wide foot, I can’t wear the samba at all but the handball Spezial fits me fine. And I think is aesthetically better as well as usually better materials.

Just got the Samba OGs in shadow olive. Great looking shoe. I have fairly average width feet but definitely had the bulging effect in my usual size, could barely get them on. Went up a full size and they fit great.
What you need is ADV version which is design for skateboarding which is more comfortable

the Samba s a great looking shoe, if you have tiny narrow elf feet. With regular wide feet it just looks weird
Bro had exactly the Same Problems in the OG‘s and Half size up is too Long. The Samba Decon did it for me, they Are more wider and more soft leather
My feet are 4E and I've tried to make these work in two occasions. It didn't work. Great shoes though but I have to stick with Asics.

Brooo nooo all the issues your are explaining at the video would get all fixed if you go for the samba classic instead of this IF, just for example the insole the classic have a fit that makes your frets feel like hug. And the price tho, the price for the classic is just 80 bucks at the time I got mines ( oct 22) and the material is genuine leather due to is a shoes for soccer.
That’s why buy Samba in a store after trying, not online. Anyway they are never on discount. (Black Samba OG). Buying a size up is excellent idea if you are 9 you may need to go for 10.5
Outside on concrete stone floor the soles on these wear down real quickly. That is there main flaw. Nice looking shoe though.
I would say as a wide feet just get a bigger size and then just if it abit loose just tied it tightly I been using them for a while which is quite enjoyable for me the best you should do is go to shop and try em on
The back bit sheds my Achilles I bled so much after 20 mins wear that it had stai Ed the whole back of the inside of the shoe
the only sambas i was able to wear was the hemp ones. but the og ones dont fit that great if you have a wide foot, im a size 11 but it was too tight, but if you size up it has an akward fit, it will be too long. the stan smiths will fit better. the new ppl that are buying them now is just for the hype just like the croc

It sounds like the Adidas Samba XLG will be right up your alley. The XLG solves all of the issues you mentioned. It will also be mor proportional to you. most people won't notice its an XLG model. and its a mens model unlike the Sambae you reviewed
the shoe was kinda weird. i tried size 9 it was comfortable but i felt like it was a little bit lose from my heel so i tried size 8.5 and i thought that the 8.5 applied pressure on my instep and the loosness on the heel was never fixed so i just bought this gold and black size 9s and hopefully it turns out to be ok cuz i really dont wanna be returning it cuz it looks awesome
Dude we have same problem for the feet. My feet is wide and very hard to find shoes for my feet. Always adding 1/2 inch but the shoes become bigger...
You brought up a lot of good points about these shoes. I bought these and eventually sold it a few days after. The shoe sits way too low giving you not much support and almost no height advantage. And as you said, I probably don't see myself wearing it in the future after the hype fades. For that reason it's a pass for me. Great video!
They're not really designed for Hypebeasts... Stick with J1s 😅 leave the Sambas alone, you're just making them hard to buy for us who really love Sambas 😅

They’re made for street soccer not some casual wear

@@Giorginho A lot of people wear chunkier sneakers and boots that add anywhere from 1 to 2" to your barefoot height. Sambas add only around 0.5" so most people in public have a 1" height advantage over you. Think of it like this, your friend is the same height as you (barefoot) but he appears 1" taller due to his thicker sneakers or boots.
We have different kind of feet, yours doesnt fit for samba. Ask for salesman, they will explain the kind of shoe will fit for you.
Its your feet problem dont bring the shoe down. The design is similar to onitsuka tiger shoes.

Tbh I think all retro designs are not wide food friendly. I got the same issue with my gazelles and I sized up as much as I can without having like 6 inches till I hit the tip with my toes and they are bulging. I think they are more comfy than samba though since they were a running shoe. I also have this same issue with USA made danner boots where it took like 2 years to actually break in and hurt every moment.
Nah don't do that man, it is the sneaker and companies fault for not having wider sizes. Easier to change a shoe than a bunch of human beings with wider feet

@@UKitAMC I personally wear thicker sport socks so even if a trainer runs slightly long you'd be just fine, I do not have any sambas but I do own a few pairs which run small, bermuda, indoor supers, indoor kreft and all of those you could go a full size up.

Sambas are a great shoe but everyones body type is different. on bigger people they don't look as good as something a little chunkier like a jordan or something because they are small, and slim.

Samba is my favorite shoe of all time. I was looking at why they're never really on sale anymore and I guess it's a fashion trend again.
I also have wide feet, but I don't have issues with samba. It feels so good to where samba. My wife complains because she thinks all my shoes are samba:
-Samba millenium
-Samba classic
-Busenitz

Samba has almost always been high quality for me.

I love Adidas Sambas but every time I try them I'm disappointed. They are so stiff and uncomfortable, though I have narrow feet. My feet hurt after wearing them for even a short time. They never break in. They hurt my feet.

You're applying a sneaker head collector mentality to what is and was originally designed as a performance shoe. It's literally a tennis shoe, it's become cool now because Trinity kids have been marketed to, because it was originally a cheap affordable flat sold casual shoe for skateboarders. Feels good slim and not bulky, great for skateboarding, affordable cheap shoe that you could rely on every time. Well constructed so it wouldn't rip easily... when fashion kids adopt these subcultures. It blows up, and then people who are obsessed with fashion and trends jump on it. The reality is man, they are what they are, if you're a heavyset fellow. Then they were designed for that. It's the brutal truth, but I think you know already when you claim that they look like a burrito popping out... that's not the shoe, thats you. and I'm not fat shaming or making you feel stink but bro there's this toxic positivity and total unaccountability and acceptance that continuing to be who you are and blaming everything but yourself is somewhat acceptable and normalised in our culture at the moment. I mean you have mean style, you obviously take care of yourself you've got nice hair a happy looking face beautiful selection I like that almost corduroy looking Green short sleeve button up it actually looks dope... but your life will change so much for the better if you just did a few ups, and those shoes use them as a marker. I have super slim feet and my big toe was still hurting wearing these. I ended up selling them on after a 2 days of wearing them around the house.
Wide footer here thats why its best to try them on before anything, its best to size up a full inch.
Upsizing makes a shoe longer, not wider 🙂
I've measured many sneakers myself because I'm also a wide footer unfortunately
@@Jorge-jk5xr longer is good for these. Its where the toe tapers off for me in my true size so I usually size up so my feet taper better with the shape of the shoe. Last time I tried a pair on I tried tts and my toes were crammed(width wise) at the end and way too close to the edge.

It's actually a indoor football shoe so hence less cushioning they also designed to play hard surfaces aswell so really not a sneaker in sense but more football/soccer shoe
Damn. Same goes with me when I bought Reebok Classic Leather Ripple. I even added half size up. It looks small and being wide footed and flat footed didn't help so I'll be using chunky sneaks from now on.

Just as a PSA.....wide or flat feet don't necessarily equate to being "heavy" or "fat". It's just a foot shape. I have slim friends with wide feet and bigger friends with narrow feet.
I love these and also have the Samba that have a boost sole which so comfy and are a bit wider, they are hard to find now but they are worth a look. BTW I'm from the UK and go to watch football and that's what these are made for lol

Yeah I wish people would just leave them for people who actually like shoes that are low profile. I can't find any other great shoes and these are constantly sold out now, having to order "barefoot shoes".
These are for people who don't like cushion, I like feeling the ground under my feet.
Very sad about the hype these used to be 65$ now they are 120$+.
