After 1:40 (hour) on hold, Genie had a solution, to reset the keypad I was told to hold down BOTH the ‘Program’ and ^\down button. Then proceed with keypad & these intructions. Thanks though Munchy!
I was losing my mind! I kept following the instructions on the inside of the keypad cover, but it wasn't working. Your excellent video showed me 1) that I was doing everything I was supposed to do and 2) that I was pushing the buttons too slowly!!! The way you pushed 3-5-7 boom boom boom. THAT was my problem.
Munchy, these are great directions. May I suggest one small edit? After you put the garage opener into program mode, you have only 30 seconds to get back to the keypad to use the 3-5-7 access code. I couldn't get this to work, but it worked great once I learned about the 30-second time limit.
@@munchy_cool I have been paying 80.00 for a service call every time this happens . No video i have watched is straight forward and gets the door open but this one. You have saved my life. I give this video 1,000 likes if I could. The only video that truly worked.
@@maheshbanal I had to put a new opener in, I found some internet chatter about bad circuit boards on that model. Damn thing was only a couple years old
EDIT: All good--it does this anytime you hit a button within 30 seconds...that's normal. ORIGINAL: Now my keypad opens the garage with any button. Oh no!

After purple, I press 3-5-7 and press the up/down button 3 or 4 times and garage door doesn’t move, I’m stuck here, can you help what Im doing wrong
you need to be quick and purple light needs to be flashing on the inside unit when you are using the default code on the keypad

Hi what if when i hold the program and up/down key for 5 sec it flashes twice and goes solid red and not off? Its not working for me

I got mine reset but now whenever I try reprogramming it with a new code, the door opens/closes at the first button I push.
This happened to me too. I gave it a few minutes and it started working again with the stock PIN

The factory reset isn’t working. I hold both buttons down but nothing happens.
thats the only way i know to reset it and has always worked for me ..sorry
try new batteries...
Make sure the lights are out first then try again, took me 4-5 times as nothing was happening for me too.
