I have loved it since it was a concept I was sure would never happen. Now I'm an architecture student and find this to be perfect car for hauling projects one day. I can't wait for mine, I'll take it in Black or Red.
This wagon is definetly on the extreme side of the sport wagon category. It's great that a US car company can put together such a vehicle and demonstrate that station wagons don't have to be boring.
My SC400 does that gas mileage making 200hp. Great for a car of the 90's but this CTSV is going to be a great family car! Great for dad and mom since it has all the luxuries of an SUV and the performance of some supercars! Not to mention reliability that Cadillac's have. Its a tight run between this and the Lexus ISF. Love both cars but this has so much more utility.
...drove home in about 7 hours ( a 'guy's trip - I stopped off at Joshua Tree & the Salton Sea to finally see each spot in person versus flying over them at 35K+ feet. The CTS is amazing. It has replaced my favorite car (until this one) - a 2009 e63 coupe, and I have nothing to complain about. I'm around 640HP and close in torque. WAY faster than my e63, but both are amazing.
I agree with Ross about that EPA gas mileage, but for those who are more concerned about fuel economy, the conventional CTS Sport Wagon will still do the job with the 3.6L VVT V-6 with over 300 hp, and in addition you can get available all wheel drive, and highway fuel milage is in the mid to high 20's. Now, the CTS-V is there for the hard core enthusist. And if gas milage is no matter, this is the one you want.
Sounds like you should drive the stick shift with the windows rolled down, that should check your sensory boxes. Plus an extra MPG (at minimum, given the neutral and downshift games you can play with a stick shift) for your mileage concerns.
@stanbernadino i agree with that, but i when i read up on that, they were only going by the 4 doors part. keep in mind that even reviewers are still unsure of how to categorize that car.
I just bought a CTS-V wagon with the 18% performance upgrade package (under warranty) from Lund Cadillac in Phoenix, AZ. I live in South OC California and d
Clearly I understand that this is or may be the fastest production car made. Being this car is a station wagon, I would like to know more about the comfort, smoothness and more on the quietness. This car is a way to sneak a family car and Corvette with 4 doors into one car. Is it a comfy Cadillac too, or a hard European stiff rollercoaster ride? All the tests on the CTS-V come to the conclusion the auto is better than the stick, refuting that pretty much says you are unread.
@luimarco You are right about the Suburu having a faster time but the complete fact about it not being the fastest sedan are a little slanted. The STI used for that time was not a pure production vehicle. It had some weight saving parts and also had a different turbocharger than the one offered to U.S. markets.
man, when previous generations think of 'wagons' they probably think of crappy, wallowy, fake wood paneling hunks of junk. But the wagons of today, like this one...are simply awesome.
great report -only complaint is the sound guy must have called in sick because even at 100 on my audio volume I could barely make out what he was saying.
Holy man, this video was amazing, really got me into the car. This car's just amazing and sexy! but i have to agree with fuel economy.. its not so fun pushing the car knowing how much you are wasting on gas... lol
just slap some custom exhaust like corsa or borla , or flowmaster, if u wana hear it all the damn time lol... its already fast wat more would u wanna do to it
Some people here don't seem to understand the point of a CTS-V. Some of the cars that people are comparing to it are at least $30k more. Bang for the buck the CTS is hard to beat, just like the Corvette. A better price comparison would be something like a BMW 550i GT and I would pick the Caddy in a heartbeat. CTS-V Wagon Base $64k Panamera S Base $90k Panamera Turbo $137k GT-R $90k
@takesonetokillall the corvette didnt have racing slicks... it had stock tires from michelin called near-slicks that come with the car. the corvette was completely stock except for added safety equipment. n yea thats true but i just didnt like his generalization of american cars.
For a car like this... Ross is definitely the best @roadfly to do it! God review... but, I'd like to see you "throwing it around" a bit. Because even if it is a wagon... I'm sure people will like to drive it a bit hard sometimes.
To be honest, with a car like this, is there even a point in mentioning the MPG? Lol. Also: It's basically a sports luxury car. It's of course going to have a pretty quiet cabin, which helps when you just want to cruise around listening to music, especially since it does come with Bose audio. If you really want to hear the engine, roll the windows down! I really hope I can make a good, steady amount of money from my job because I'm really hoping to get this car within a few years. Which probably isn't a good idea 'cause I probably won't want to drive any weaker car again!
I got a CTS Sport Wagon with the 6 cyl. It is quiet nice and goes sufficiently fast to scare everyone. It really drives nicely and goes where you point it, and takes corners at speed. Basically while the V thinks it's a Corvette, mine thinks it's a Camaro. I love it.
I love to see that SMILE on your face when you punch it. Makes me feel like I just experienced that rush! ;) Now, I have a question. Why and I mean WHY does anyone need this much HP when we simply can not put it to use? How much of the engine are we really using on a daily basis? And we're still suffering with terrible MPG Just because... Not saying I wouldn't want one, I am saying in the HP wars the only place to enjoy it is at the track unless I own miles of property. You look great Ross!
lol yeah, today even the most unlikely car segment seems to have a high performance version offered as an option, but let's be honest, wagons were never intended to do anything but to haul the family&groceries around, be comfortable roomy and powerful enough to get the job done, and that's exactly what they always did quite well. so, nothing wrong with the classic American "Clark Griswold" nostalgia mobiles. :) greetings from germany.
@gab13005 Actually, he really liked Acura's wagon which he reviewed a while ago and no, he doesn't have an suv. He had Honda Civic until it got stolen. IDK what he drives know, but definitely not an suv.
I'm going to upgrade the wheels to 20" HREs (brushed), yellow clippers, lower it by .75", and that's it. You would not believe the comments I get. Most people don't have any clue as to what this car is, which is what I wanted (something different). I've smoked numerous 60-year old guys from Newport Beach with their 35-year old blond trophy wives in Z06s - YES, Z06s. Plus I can haul wood from Loew's & Home Depot.
I'm having a bit of a problem with this review. Ross mentions the CTSV is the fastest sedan in the world. But...he's reviewing a wagon. Still a bold statement to say the least. I'd like to see a uber wagon shootout on the ring between the CTSV and the German brands he mentioned. If the CTSV has a quicker time, then I'm clearly wrong. Just a fun fact, the Audi RS6 wagon has the twin turbo V-10 and 580hp. And there's a reason why they kept their cars in Europe...Autobhan.
The guys at Lund Cadillac in PHX were the best dealership I've dealt with. I flew in, and was out of there in an hour (although after some egging on, I almost spun-out as I gave them the customary burn-out). I'm not affiliated with Lund in any way, but if you are close enough to make a deal with them work, call Greg Smith in their Internet sales group. He's since become 'LinkedIn' with me and is by far the most professional car sales guy I've worked with. Buy this car. You will be amazed.
"You won't find anything that can keep up with it period for under 100 thousand" -2012 Nissan GTR 89,950 thousand it won't just keep up it will blow it away!
@gab13005 I personally love wagons and wish more cars were available in said configuration, and I can't wait for the redesign of the Jetta wagon. (No, not sport wagon, that's just a marketing gimmick since the W word is a curse word here in the states, it's a true wagon, and i'm not afraid to call it such).
@youtoolgofckurself Ross said that's what Cadillac claimed if you actually listened to him, or read the previous comments. He was quoting the people at Cadillac.
@omendark123 they may be nicer to you, but they sure as hell aren't faster, and more fuel efficient? I don't know about the M5 but the RS6 certainly isn't and neither is the E63, at least not the NA version. The new Turbo model might be and it better be, that was the whole rationale they gave for switching to turbos. The rest of them get similarly crappy mileage.
@luimarco Well your right on some accounts. The reports I read did say that some of those cars did the ring in a little faster time but they are still all "unofficial". Which "technically" means they can still say that for a short while longer till the manufactures claim those times and make them "official"...lmao. The Cadi is a serious car but they will have to get on their game if they want to keep that "official" claim cuz they won't have it for long...lol.
He says he would buy an automatic, because it's a wagon. Well I bought this car, the CTS-V Wagon, and I got it with the 6-speed manual. Why? Because when he complains that it's "not as fun as he would like" it's because he's driving the automatic. With the 6-speed manual you can do rolling burnouts through intersections and because it's the same TR6060 manual from the Corvette, it's awesome. Get the manual. GET THE MANUAL. The automatic sucks the fun out of this car, which is hard to do.
Some of you people need to pay attention and stop getting huffy while he's taking. You'd have to pay a lot more to get a car that isn't even offered in the US and is not any better other than you imagine that it is. Other than Aftermarket tuner versions of those much vaunted Euro-sport wagons, the ones w/ the insane performance that cost more than your house, none of them are faster than the CTS-V Wagon other than you imagine they are.
This car is a huge head turner! I love the Cadillacs!
My SC400 does that gas mileage making 200hp. Great for a car of the 90's but this CTSV is going to be a great family car! Where is the comparison or mention of the 2012 Lincoln MKT twinturbo?
Excellent Point, for the money their is nothing that can touch any CTS-V! on top of that you have Class ,Luxury and performance! Love it!!
The black wheels and the yellow brake calipers look sick as hell!
this is the baddest ass wagon, i have ever seen. I think it's fantastic
Great review !!
I absolutely love this car
My dream car. Color and everything. Damn.
Awesome 😃 👍 2011 Cadillac CTS-v wagon review .
Can you do a review for the F-150 raptor?
I want to get one but want make sure and do some more research on it.
Sounds like you should drive the stick shift with the windows rolled down, that should check your sensory boxes. Plus an extra MPG (at minimum, given the neutral and downshift games you can play with a stick shift) for your mileage concerns.
This is like my Matrix, except 5 times more powerful and the interior isn't made of cheap non-durable plastics. Love it.
@Zornus Oh yeah? I was thinkin of test driving one. How's she handle?
I like how Ross checked his rearview mirror when he mentioned "illegal territory."
Good review!
@stanbernadino i agree with that, but i when i read up on that, they were only going by the 4 doors part. keep in mind that even reviewers are still unsure of how to categorize that car.

All the tests on the CTS-V come to the conclusion the auto is better than the stick, refuting that pretty much says you are unread.
@Corveette The Panamera Turbo, which is the highest level Panamera gets 500 horsepower. Which is 56 horsepower less than the CTS.
@moaski it isn't today, though. He said he prefers manuals, but it's not inexcusable to like an auto once in a while.
Scotty makes cars look huge
Best wagon ever, especially in red
@luimarco You are right about the Suburu having a faster time but the complete fact about it not being the fastest sedan are a little slanted. The STI used for that time was not a pure production vehicle. It had some weight saving parts and also had a different turbocharger than the one offered to U.S. markets.
@r1a9y She left in January of this year.
man, when previous generations think of 'wagons' they probably think of crappy, wallowy, fake wood paneling hunks of junk. But the wagons of today, like this one...are simply awesome.
great report -only complaint is the sound guy must have called in sick because even at 100 on my audio volume I could barely make out what he was saying.
Holy man, this video was amazing, really got me into the car. This car's just amazing and sexy! but i have to agree with fuel economy.. its not so fun pushing the car knowing how much you are wasting on gas... lol
that thing is a beast!!
The rear reminds of my the Saab 9-3 SportCombi with the tail lights
just slap some custom exhaust like corsa or borla , or flowmaster, if u wana hear it all the damn time lol... its already fast wat more would u wanna do to it
Why would u ever purchase or build a station wagon how many clark griswalds are there?
Ah come on Ross! How fast were you going? By the way, you're the man!
last a checked, more recently, one of the iterations of the Porsche Panamera was deamed the new fastest production sedan in the world.
great video! too bad audio quality isnt at its best
This isn't a car guy. To choose an auto over a manual transmission is an inexcusable sin.
moaski especially in a CTV wagon, the manual is a must. I stopped watching after I heard that. What a Pu$$¥
I love CTS wagons whether in V form or not, but i hate silver in cars and am not a huge fan of those black rims, but awesome car!

Panamera S Base $90k
Panamera Turbo $137k
GT-R $90k
highley ilegel teretory (checking his mirror if there are any coppers around
@takesonetokillall the corvette didnt have racing slicks... it had stock tires from michelin called near-slicks that come with the car. the corvette was completely stock except for added safety equipment. n yea thats true but i just didnt like his generalization of american cars.
Great review but Frodo wants his shoes back
galaxyfz
Really funny dude!!!!. BUT...Frodo was always bare footed. Just to know.
For a car like this... Ross is definitely the best @roadfly to do it!
God review... but, I'd like to see you "throwing it around" a bit. Because even if it is a wagon... I'm sure people will like to drive it a bit hard sometimes.
@ssj4goldengogeta The panamera isn't a sedan, it's more like a 4 door hatchback like an A7 or Honda Crosstour
To be honest, with a car like this, is there even a point in mentioning the MPG? Lol.

@DocWolph hmm thats probably why the "Doc" part is in your ID
@bluedrangon69 there roughly the same, the cts-v is 1mph higher than the porsche
WOW....iv'e always dreamed about owning a bulky 4-door "wagon" that does not even LOOK like one.Give me a classic restored Nomad ANY DAY!
lol yeah, today even the most unlikely car segment seems to have a high performance version offered as an option, but let's be honest, wagons were never intended to do anything but to haul the family&groceries around, be comfortable roomy and powerful enough to get the job done, and that's exactly what they always did quite well. so, nothing wrong with the classic American "Clark Griswold" nostalgia mobiles. :)
greetings from germany.
@TheFruitvale yeah that was kinda funny w/ross js chillin for like 10 seconds....
@gab13005 Actually, he really liked Acura's wagon which he reviewed a while ago and no, he doesn't have an suv. He had Honda Civic until it got stolen. IDK what he drives know, but definitely not an suv.

I love how he says at 3:41 he says the automatic is a better choice and then at 4:10 says the car isnt as fun as he would like :I
i like your review but can you please review a little more inside, get a little tech with it
@kezboy1 Audi Rs6 wagon?
The guys at Lund Cadillac in PHX were the best dealership I've dealt with. I would like to get one of this to chase GTR on the freeway :)
Is it me or is the volume really low for this video?
@phantomloita No it isn't, it's heavier, slower to 60, and till I see a direct comparison I severely doubt it'll keep up on a track.
the volume was too low
please re-upload it with higher one
thanks
As far as I have watched all these reviews, I think they never have done one with manual o.O
@gab13005 I personally love wagons and wish more cars were available in said configuration, and I can't wait for the redesign of the Jetta wagon. (No, not sport wagon, that's just a marketing gimmick since the W word is a curse word here in the states, it's a true wagon, and i'm not afraid to call it such).
if you have to ask the sales people what Fuel economy a CTS V gets theyre probably gonna laugh at you and turn you away.
@TopGearRuels A CAI, exhaust, supercharger pulley and tune take these cars to 700+whp.
@PeterGregg That's not a comparison. They're two completely different cars.
@youtoolgofckurself Ross said that's what Cadillac claimed if you actually listened to him, or read the previous comments. He was quoting the people at Cadillac.
I want one.
anyone know the music in the intro...annoying yes, but pretty cool :D
I'll take a black,six-speed
@omendark123 they may be nicer to you, but they sure as hell aren't faster, and more fuel efficient? I don't know about the M5 but the RS6 certainly isn't and neither is the E63, at least not the NA version. The new Turbo model might be and it better be, that was the whole rationale they gave for switching to turbos. The rest of them get similarly crappy mileage.
It's pretty fucking cool.
I can't believe that car get that much of an atrocious gas rating. Ross you have to tell me, how fast were you going? Im dying to know
Correct me if i am wrong but isnt Porsche Panamera Turbo S the Fastest Sedan in the world now, its not CTS-V anymore. why did this guy on say it?
@IchiDeux so ichi are you here too you have an awesome 2 channels i just needed to tell you
@luimarco Well your right on some accounts. The reports I read did say that some of those cars did the ring in a little faster time but they are still all "unofficial". @lexusES350h lmao, check the E63 wagon
@ohiost8freak actually i do , and im proud of it =)
My Dodge Magnum is this things DADDY!
Love the intro music, but it's a bit distracting when it's playing during the review. It's absolutely no gripe, just saying.
@phantomloita Whoever you're quoting obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, or had never seen or heard of the CTS-V.
@zakmal or get some new exhaust lol like any other buyer :P
Get the automatic?!!?!?!?!!?!?! YOURE CRAZY!!!!
@gab13005 I bet he'll be shocked to know that an SUV is just a lifted wagon and no more.
3'rd yes !
Ok, I guess because I was the first one to watch this video the 720p hadn't been uploaded yet lol
3 words. Audi RS6 Avant. 572 hp V10. my case rests, CTS-V Wagon is 2nd fastest wagon
He says he would buy an automatic, because it's a wagon. Well I bought this car, the CTS-V Wagon, and I got it with the 6-speed manual. Why? Because when he complains that it's "not as fun as he would like" it's because he's driving the automatic. The automatic sucks the fun out of this car, which is hard to do.
Is this a full size SUV? No, it's just Ross standing next to it.
it was quiet so i turned my volume up, then 0:28 happened
Some of you people need to pay attention and stop getting huffy while he's taking. Maybe 2 sales TOPS.
Ross is CUTE :)
@gab13005 This car is no more practical than a SUV, it only gets 12mpg city on premium fuel. A lot of SUV's get way better than that.
