Hi Katy, thank you! I now make a nearly overflowing vita mix container of smoothie that is enough for three days-my husband and I each have a 10 oz+ smoothie and our oatmeal (mine is oat groats) daily😊
Can you share what model Vitamix you are using? Did you get it at Costco? I see a visit to my Costco soon! The smoothie looks great! Do you have anything else for breakfast with the smoothie like your oats and quinoa?
Hi Suzanne! I believe that in that video I was using my 7500 model of vita mix, but then I saw the food processor attachment that goes on the Ascent and Venturist models only, and got an Ascent model enabling me to easily switch from blender to food processor using the same base. If you Google ‘top 10 vitamin blenders 2022’ You will see what is being recommended, and I’m pretty sure that what is being offered at Costco is either one of those, or one of the top 2021 models. If you don’t want the food processor attachment option, then I would say go with Costco’s option hangs-down👏😊
Hi Farm girl! I read the same thing from Dr. Gregor. It may be so, as I believe what he says is all science based, but I haven’t changed my meals because of it. For example, I have oats in the morning if it’s not a smoothie, and I put banana and berries together with the oats and the flax and chia seeds and a few other things. Dr Brooke Goldner was asked about this-she is very well-known for her recommendation of smoothies, to reverse auto immune diseases, and has had much success with this. Her response was to simply say that she has had much success with her smoothies that include bananas and berries and greens, and will continue to do so. It’s a tough one isn’t it? This is one of his few recommendations I haven’t taken. 🌻🥰🌻
Hi Melissa, thank you for your interest. They are my homegrown Meyer lemons, which have a relatively thin peel and a marvelous flavor, and yes I do. I put in a nice thick sliced, peel and all😁
Thanks for bringing that up, I had to replay the video to see what you were referring to. And yes I meant to add my Sprouts, but out of sight out of mind. They’re a nice addition to a smoothie.😊🌻
Hi Tammy, I’m responding to this on January 11, 2025, after having done six weeks of Dr. Brooke Goldner’s Goodbye Lupus protocol, and about to do her six week, rapid recovery, goodbye, autoimmune disease protocol. Both employed her hyper nourishment protocol for healing, which requires a pound of deep, leafy, green, cruciferous, vegetables, 1/2 cup freshly ground, flax or Chia seeds, and over 96 ounces of water daily. The easy way to do that other than making big salads or just chewing all day, is to start the day with all of the greens in a smoothie with some fruit for flavor. I’m explaining this because in this healing protocol of hers, to grab every iota of nourishment from the greens, they must be fresh rather than frozen. So if I were answering you back, then with my traditional smoothie, I would say fresh or frozen. If I were answering you now while I drink her hyper nourishing smoothie daily, the grains are always fresh. I’m not sure if I explained properly, or way overexplain based on your question. But I hope this was helpful. 🌻❤️🌻
So let me correct you about why pepper is used. Pepper not only increases the bioavailability of turmeric, but it also increases bioavailability of other nutrients are I learned this from an Ayurvedic doc.
Didn’t know you could freeze greens. Game changer! 😊
For me, once I discovered this, it HAS been a game changer. So glad that you connected! 🌻🥰🌻
Nan……your my hero🙏🌈❤️🌞💫
Well how nice of you, thank you Michael🌻🥰🌻
Nice tip. I will try freezing smoothie greens too.
Great idea to freeze the greens for smoothies.
Thanks for your comment Nancy. I love your last name and wish it was some thing that I could still eat. Unfortunately gluten is a hard stop for me.😂
This is amazing!!!! Thank you!
Thank you, Christine, enjoy!🌻🥰🌻
Love the way you explain things and that smoothie looks so good and full of nutrients! Love it
Thank you so much for your kind words Angie! You can make it your own with your own favorites. It truly is yummy!
Yummy!!!!😋
It is! Thank you for reaching out!
Awesome video - thank you! Very inspiring.
Thank you for your comment. Enjoy your smoothie😊
Just found your channel! Love it!! Do you drink this every morning? It looks delicious..

Hi, love your smoothie recipe. I read once that bananas negate the antioxidant power of the berries….do you think that is correct?

Quick question Nan - when you mentioned your mixture of chia, flax and hemp - equal amounts of each? Thank you.
Good question Joan. Flax:Chia:Hemp=1:1:1/2. In other words equal flax and chia, 1/2 hemp🌻🥰🌻
@@NanSimonsen Thank you!!!
Do you strain the fiber? Like in juicing, you get the juice and not the fiber.
Hi! No, I want all of the dietary fiber I can get from my whole food, plant-based diet, so no straining.🌻🥰🌻
@@NanSimonsen Thank you so much for responding to my question.
Did you use the peel of the lemon?
Hi Melissa, thank you for your interest. They are my homegrown Meyer lemons, which have a relatively thin peel and a marvelous flavor, and yes I do. I put in a nice thick sliced, peel and all😁
Hi!! Were the beets raw or cooked for your smoothie?
Hi Sylvia, my beets are always raw in the smoothie. I roast them for my salads, but I have used them raw and julienned and in salads as well.
??? Did you mean to add some of those broccoli sprouts (I assume) that are on the counter?
Thanks for bringing that up, I had to replay the video to see what you were referring to. And yes I meant to add my Sprouts, but out of sight out of mind. They’re a nice addition to a smoothie.😊🌻
@@NanSimonsen thank you! I grow broccoli sprouts and never thought to add them to a smoothie.
I thought veggies must be frozen.

Good to know Anita. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you SpicyDoc🌻🙂🌻
Hi!! Were the beets raw or cooked for your smoothie?
Hi Sylvia! I use raw beets 1/2 of a large beet
You can do them raw
