@@williamgunderson7365 Not correct.. The Windsors and Hanovers do have Stuart blood because George I was a great grandson of James I, the first Stuart king. The Hanovers took the crown because of their non-catholic descent from the Stuarts. Diana was an ‘illegitimate’ descendant of Charles II so she was no more Stuart than Prince Charles is really. So William and Harry have got it from both sides.
Diana was a Spencer related to the Churchills, raised in Althorp House. The Spencers were aristocrats in England long before the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha crowd arrived and they very well knew it. So no.....they were deferential.
Charles was forced to marry her because they didn’t like Camila cause she “wasn’t a virgin” and “wasn’t from the right sort of family.” Diana was forced into this marriage and was essentially treated like a gift won at an auction cause of her “purity and innocence.” All in all, both sides had their issues. But Charles manipulating, insulting, verbally abusing her, and treating her terrible is why I will never like him.
Honestly, I could never understand how they let him marry Diana either. She's always been her own sort of a rebel, failing to finish high school, working for her sister as a maid, etc. , things that were proving she's a free spirited person who has hard time following the rules, the reasons we all adored her for and royal family despised her for even more. Did they really expected she'll be easily tamed
She was stronger than any of those cowards. I feel no respect for them and still despise Charles. I will not watch his coronation or ever refer to him as "king" Charles.

She loved him at first - very much - watch the news clips from the time - it's obvious. She really was a romantic and nineteen so first love and all that. To give him his due he probably thought he could love her or at least she was good enough - but of the both she definitely got the burnt end of the stick. Marrying into that sideshow to a man she loved who quickly became bored with her and her 'needy clingy' ways once the true scope of her new reality became obvious - and who expected her to play the game and allow him to go back to the woman he preferred and stay dignified and silent - I really don't think that was how she hoped things would turn out. It was her being so popular which lead to the original jealousy - not her fault she fit the mould of a fairy princess way better than he ever fit the prince - not his fault either - but of the two he certainly had the age on her which would have lead one to hope he might have had some emotional maturity to deal with the unfairness of the media latching onto her and leaving him for dead - and not blame her as it was her big plan to marry him and steal his limelight. She was pretty much still a child when they married while he was a 30-plus well travelled man of the world who'd had many loves so him then behaving like a spoiled child having his toy taken off him was...well, disappointing. Hardly surprising - just disappointing - you would have thought at some point on the downward spiral he might have thought that since he was the one who dragged a child into that insanity and madness - he should taken some responsibility and at least tried make the brutality of the whole thing a little more bearable - but he just let it eat her alive and added his jealousy and bitterness to the load. Very human and he certainly not the worst person in the world by any means, and goodness knows the entire royal organisation has ruined his life in many ways, so I certainly don't hate him and think he did the best he could - even it it was a poor effort. But, it must have been a bloody awful life for a woman who thought she's fallen in love with her prince and was about to have a fairy-tale life.

I suppose in some respect I do feel bad for Charles not being able to marry who he truly loved, but Diana was a beautiful woman with a kind and loving heart. He could have at least loved her as a friend, if not romantically. She could have been a lovely ally to him, but he chose to be callous to her and in turn it turned them against each other. Sad for both of them.
Diana was very bright unfortunately. That's where Harry gets it from.
@@Commentator488 In all fairness if he abdicated then Andrew would've been 'king'. And nobody wants that.
@@raydromeda3777 Anne is the second oldest, if Charles abdicated would it not have gone to her?
@@janedoe8045 No. They apparently just changed a law and Anne was born before the law was enacted. So now Princess Charlotte is in line for the throne. Don’t ask me why? I am American. But I did just read an article about this.
You cant feel bad for a narcissist. Period. He just wanted everything. The throne, his nice life, Camilla and Diana. He is disgusting by all means and will always be. There is no excuse for what he did to Diana. He is a sick individual like Camilla
He was really jealous of her wasn’t he 😔
I wouldn’t be jealous of her, I’d tell people I’m married to her and you’re not!
He's jealous of Harry and Meghan too. They are always in the paper. Hell they are dominating the papers and he just came too throne.
Literally everyone was jealous of her.
She had something they could never afford, humanity and a real passion for life.

Love watching him get what he deserves. For a moment he felt what she felt. Ignored and disliked.
And she had to use her belly to get away with it, like some old-time female pirate trying to avoid being hanged by "pleading her belly." This term and tactic was actually used by female convicts, as a last-ditch effort to avoid capital punishment, at least until the authorities could prove that she was not pregnant after al.
But Diana was _not_ a convict, yet was convicted in the eyes of her own extended family until she could only get some alone time by pleading her belly in this scene.
This evil world did not deserve Princess Diana 💔
At least not that stupid Prince
The whole Royal family is stupid
Obviously the more power one has the more corrupt things are
That evil family certainly didn't.
A person with emotions and a loving heart, will never be accepted in a narcissistic family, when this normal needs don’t have any room/space or even appreciation.. and then you become the outcast and bullied when you just want to keep things together, live in peace and be loved of your family. Can relate. It is heartbreaking. All well done.
@Curly-n-Girly it's true. A family of monsters.

She wanted love so badly but the royals who was supposed to be her family didn't give her any
Not even her husband
The Queen… was raised in a formal upbringing, can’t blame her… CHARLES HOWEVER, it’s common sense to treat your wife like you wife, not your dog

@Royaledits-123 yes most shows and movies that are based on true events, stories, and biography of real people tend to overexaggerate moments or pretty much the story for the sake of sensationalizing
Like having the actors/actresses scream they're lungs out during an argument scene for sake of a performance and to win an Oscar 🤣
Adding a moment or more that didn't even happen
this frustrates me alot cause the show or movie states "this is based on true events" which really? How much of what was shown was true? Did that person say that in real life? Did he/she did that?

He is quoted as saying he thought she was "exquisitely pretty, and a perfect poppet". Sorry it's weird how toffs talk... but was a child still barely old enough to be out school.I think the jealousy came later when she got very popular with the public, and, wouldn't accept Camilla. She was very shy Diana, didn't get much attention, in her family, and had never had a boyfriend, and had no experience early on, to realise it wasn't at all normal. She couldn't believe this important man was giving her all this attention, and it must of been very seductive.
They conceived only william as Harry is the son of Mr James Hewitt

THE ENTIRE MONARCHY DIDN'T DESERVE HER.
@@BBBB-wp2sr agreed
The casting on this show is phenomenal. The actors are amazing. It really makes you not like Charles the actor is that good!!
Very good compilation of the moments that had broken the heart of the people’s princess.
I watched the entire series day after day, watching three to four episodes a day, I couldn’t stop watching, I had to stop just to go to work & sleep.
I was ADDICTED TO THIS SHOW, I can’t wait for season 6.
I’ve been addicted to other tv shows, but not as strong as the addictions to watching this. Amazing & fun to watch, but frustrating & heart-breaking to understand the reality of what really happened for SEVEN DECADES. My heart also goes out to Princess Diana, the incredible abuse she endured & the “Iron Lady” she became. Her royal family treated her with contempt, only to be killed in such a horrific way. The British Monarchy deserves to be dissolved by a True Democracy of checks & balances like the US.
The script, the dialogue, the acting, the musical score, everything is PERFECT to draw people’s interest.
Hopefully we can all find comfort in knowing that wherever she is, she is happy now. She’s not hurting or suffering and she feels every ounce of the love her country and the rest of the world has for her💜🌹
Dude the acting......... it just hits right on the spot.
they had such good chemistry outside of their roles. i wish they'd do a show or movie where they'd end up happily together
I've known the feeling. It's a dreary and sad thing. Knowing you are unliked by those who encompass you.
WOW! He had been bullied and suppressed for so long, he found in Diana someone he could unleash his anger and frustrations on.
And the fact he called Diana chubby and made her have her eating disorder is fucked up
She loved him at first - very much - watch the news clips from the time - it's obvious.
He was raised in boarding schools. he never had the loving hands of a mother. He was too old for his age already with his stodgy class of stuck up asses.
No wonder Harry left.

It’s interesting to see the Queen become progressively less likable as this series goes on.
You have to wonder how much certain things were covered up. Especially from past eras where people who witnessed things are now dead or were too afraid to be honest about the royal family.
I noticed that too! Even Margaret who was considered the more lively of the two becomes such a snob
I feel like at the hug scene Elizabeth truly realized something... but she never ever will have the guts to admit it.
It's weird, but I wonder if the youngest queen depicted in the show would have hugged her back. How could she not relate to Diana's struggles to that emotional turmoil she went through as a brand new queen. By this time, at least depicted in the show, she has lost some of her humanity.

The marriage was pretty much an arranged marriage and not a love match.
The honeymoon was a disaster.
They didn't know each other before the wedding. They didn't have any common interests. They were not compatible in many ways. Both failed to meet each others expectations and needs. Their relationship became increasingly toxic and both were miserable by 1986.
They informally separated in 1986.
The marriage was a mistake.
