Despite having a small Muslim community in Mexico, we usually make special dishes on Eid. We make halal tamales for the breakfast (after Eid prayer), then in our case we cook traditional Eid biryani, sheer qorma, etc. That's because we have a Pakistani-Mexican family. We also make halal mole, tacos, etc. LOL
@@heelamw We just substitute the pork for lamb in most foods. Instead of lard, we use butter or at least oil. You can even make chicken mole tamales, is super easy but it takes a while!

My grandpa was an asshole. He was verbally and emotionally abusive towards us the entire time he was alive. I don’t have any good memory of him. All the swear words I know now, are because of him. He used to swear at us endlessly and for no reason. I look forward to watching these videos with Mustafa in them. He seems like the affectionate grandpa I’ve always wanted but never had. I hope and pray that he lives a long and healthy life in his beautiful village.
Edit: Please don’t ask us to forgive him. He was not that old. He knew what he was doing. He had not lost his mind. He was extremely nice and loving with our cousins. I don’t know the reason for his hatred towards us. Maybe because we were girls. I always wondered that as a child but I don’t want to think about that now. The torment and abuse that my family and I had to go through because of him, cannot be forgotten easily. It ruined our childhood. My maternal grandpa passed away when I was very young and both of my grandmas passed away before my birth so I never knew the love of grandparents. Please don’t judge me.

I took their advice and made my own homemade rotis. Probably weren’t as good as mustafa’s but omg I loved them!!! They were even delicious eaten by themselves. I’m going to make curry and roti next week (I’m British so we love curry just as much). ❤️
I'm British born- bitterly disappointed by practically every takeaway I've ever had- and if you really want to know a country that knows and loves curry, it's Trinidad. If you don't have any Indian or Pakistani friends to hand I promise you a Trini will help you out. Indian and Pakistani culture is to Trinidad as Hispanic culture is to Mexico- that's the extent of the cultural influence. I grew up with my mother making 2 or 3 different kinds of roti in the morning, built a clay chulha from the earth in the back yard with her etc.
@@SobrietyandSolace oh I make my own curries. I’ve never been the biggest fan of takeaways, although they’re better than the awful supermarket ready meal versions. Usually I make Indian or Pakistani curries, they’re my favourite. My mum is a really good cook and is friends with a Pakistani family who gave her some recipes which she shared with me.
@@SobrietyandSolace I’ve just looked at a few recipes for curry chicken and omg it looks amazing! I’ll definitely try it. Funnily enough, one of the recipes talked about how the reason curry became such a huge thing in Trinidad is because of the British Empire, possibly the only good thing to ever be associated with the British empire except maybe abolishing slavery (even though it shouldn’t have been a thing to begin with). Japanese curry is based on British curry too funnily enough.

When the participants mention local items like "shurdee," "shoom kambakhat," or "busroo," which are unfamiliar to people outside their region, it would be helpful to include a photo or brief description of those items in the video so everyone will be able to learn more.

in pakistan the yogurt (at least in the villages) is a lot looser/runnier than the thicker yogurt you’d find in stores in western countries (i’m gonna assume you’re american based on your name) and there are a lot of yogurt-based drinks, plus there are a lot of stainless steel (i think 😬 i’m not to familiar with what kind of metal lol) dishes, including bowls and it’s really common to drink out of them. when we visited pakistan, my siblings and i loved drinking ice cold water out of those bowls lol, it’s just like drinking the milk after you finish ur cereal
