  • John Kirwan and his Auckland side takes on an Argentine side who hoping to take down the All Blacks in this tour. Sadly, Los Pumas got thrashed by an all powerful Auckland side who would dominate New Zealand rugby union in the 80s. Enjoy the thrashing ladies and gents.

Having been a winger myself and having heard how good John kirwan was...I watched him a lot he liked to get involved and was probably world class In his day . But aim often under whelmed watching him

it was a far less competitive game and such size and power were totally unseen on the wings, but nor Kirwan or Lomu would have such an impact on today's game. In my opinion back in the day he was good but not as good as Danie Gerber, Tim Horan or David Campese.

What a team, how much would it cost to pay that Auckland team if it was around today.

I don't believe they mentioned his name, but who was Auckland's #4? Was it Mata'Afa Keenan? And then the prop, Matt Dowd - is he Craig's brother or do they just share a name?

Brett Iti was a very good halfback. He should have been an All Black.
