Paul my father was a welder in a stainless steel factory that manufactured milk coolers and other various tanks. My brothers and I grew up with a Lincoln stick welder in the garage and dad was all the time welding things for himself and others that had problems. My biggest regret was that I never had him teach me to weld. He passed away from pancreatic cancer and I lost that opportunity to learn something that could be beneficial for years to come. Thanks for your good work in teaching your family!
I loved how Dr Wades boy was just sitting on the kitchen table (the operating table😊) holding the flashlight and digging the whole event. Was not his first rodeo holding the light for dad.

I wouldn't be too harsh on him, I don't think anyone is ever really ready to raise children.
Many people told me that I was too harsh, but I wasn't simply raising good children, I was trying to prepare young men & women to thrive in the often harsh world around them. Overall, I'm pleased with the results. All are married and raising their own children, using many of the same rules they once hated.
I must admit that I really enjoy hearing my words coming out of their mouth, but I didn't invent them, many of those quotes came from the old men that influenced me!
In the end, just try to do the best you can raising your children.
@@arizonapapa9453 your last line says it all. We are ALL doing the best we can with what we have at any given time on any given subject. Some just have better emotional/physical/financial/judgement/patience skills than others. My dad was hard on me too, but it made me stronger. I miss him every day.
My dad was a abusive drunk. I wish I had a dad like Paul. He is amazing.
@@LarryYaw I’m sorry for your misfortune there. I can only guess how hard that was for you. I hope you have risen above substance abuse and made a better person of yourself…and try to bring yourself to forgive him, if only to free up YOUR mind and YOUR energy for better things.
@@hgj2019 amen. Hate, anger, resentment, guilt, and other such emotions all serve to punish us for things we didn't do. Grace and forgiveness actually serve to free us from all that. We need to get our heads around the idea we deserve better!
Dr Wade's kids probably think this is everyday life, dad fixing people up on the kitchen table 😉. Love the fact that one of his sons is actually holding a light for him!

I unashamedly admit that I skipped the medical part. I have seen too much of that in my lifetime to look at it on my time off.

I was going to say "gobble gobble" after the kids first weld but upon seeing the final result, he gets top marks from me!
You can just tell that all his children will turn out to be we rounded and confident. This is a no fear family right here.
Paul, you are my hero of a dad! My father would never let me weld, I taught myself through trial & error. I taught my son to weld when he was 12, needless to say there was 4X's more grinding than welding. Now he owns his own rig and welds professionally. Michele you know I HATE commercials, so thanks for putting it at the end so I can completely skip it.
Great to see your son learning and working on his own project. Having had more stitches than I care to count, I'll send a tip of the hat to Dr. Wade for the bedside manner and the fine stitching, I've had worse from MD's. Thanks again all.
There are many things I can appreciate learning from TH-cam but doctor stuff kind of stretches the limit for me. I am sure he respects his limits.

I see so much more than a great truck, I'm seeing the kind of bonding that will help him boldly face the future with an unshakable confidence, no matter what is thrown his way!
Landon, you are so lucky to have the opportunity to be learning the things you are doing right now. When my son was your age he was in the shop with me and I often wondered if he was paying attention, today he's doing maintenance for a large plant. Dad is teaching you things that will keep you going all your life.

I like the way you teach your kids how to weld, rebuilt a tranny and other things. It bring me back memories of my teenage years when we lived on my grandfather farm. All the time I spent with him in the shop to fix the mower, the rake etc. Best time of my life!! I try to reproduce these moments with my kids too

I am an electrician, since US Navy electrical school in 1957 at 17 years old. I worked full-time for 54 years. Retired at age 72 y.o. You are an amazing craftsman. An Artist. Congratulations. It's not work when you love what you are doing and that shows in your shop and projects. Keep going as absolutely long as you are physically able. I am 82 now and have 4 or 5 small projects in progress.now.
I am loving watching all of the Father & son work. Hopefully Lando will still be in the shop for other projects after his truck is complete. The whole family dynamic is one of the things that keep bringing me back to the Fab Rats channel. Well that, all of the amazing work and Papa Dar!!!

@@hgj2019 The older I get the less energy I have to get stuff done. When I was in my thirties I always assumed I'd have that much gas in the tank as I got older.
I love all the teaching moments between your kids, it will go on for generations.
The process of welding is simple science. The act of welding is a true art form, and from what I can see Lando is going to be a great artist like his father.
You always appreciate something more if you put your own time and money into it. Landon isn't just being given a truck, he's earning it and helping fix it as he goes. I hope this is a truck he keeps and values all his life. Way to go, Landon, way to go, Dad.

Working in a surgery center for 4 years and watching many a doctor suture up some wounds, DR Wade did a heck of a good job on those stitches for learning from TH-cam. props.

Landon knows what it’s like to work for something . First thing I noticed was His Dad talking about smoking the tires off and Landon saying “NO” when I was a kid I would have said ohh yes burn them off. Then have to work another 2 weeks to get new ones.
That’s cool you’re uncle got you stitched up. My uncle is a old farmer and has stitched me up multiple times. Always saves some time and money. Build is coming along nice.

In Canada stitches are free! I hate hand wounds, but have had more than my fair share. Be carefull out there. You're a great Dad teaching your son skills that will make him a man to be proud of!
My Dad was a WWII UK REME mechanic. Worked on cars and stuff with him from about age 5, it was always wonderful being with him.
I hope Lando appreciates what a lucky kid he is! I'd give my right arm to be his age working with Paul.

On a farm that I worked on in high school, I was chasing hogs from a field into a cattle lane between two fields. The entrance to this lane was a 6' wide hole cut out of the farm fence, unknown to me the top wire was left uncut (remember this) to help maintain the fence tension. A mud hole had developed in that entrance to the lane. As the hogs ran through, I followed in close pursuit only to catch that wire right above the bridge of my nose, did I mention that I was in the air trying to jump over the mud puddle? Not as bad a cut as yours but you know how forehead cuts always look worse than they really are when bleeding.
Kudos for the son's welding, he's been paying attention.

Everything is better with some personal sweat equity invested. Great job getting Landon invested in his truck. He will take better care of it and can drive it with pride knowing he worked on it alongside the best fabricator in the county.

Always like watching the videos and seeing what Paul is rigging up. Good to see the kids running around and working on things themselves and learning how to build and fix things. I'm 48 and starting getting thin up top over the last couple years and have been using Keeps for 2 months now and my GF says she can see a difference.

A while back the net wire slipped just as I was almost on the ground and If it would have been a second sooner I might have had the same exact issue and possibly a gut rip. I don't know that I want to climb another now. Good job on the stich job Doc.

I was glad to see Lando welding. I have been wondering if he could. When he gets some confidence going, he will probably be pretty good. He is already a heck of a lot better than I would be. I like that Paul is making him do some of the work on the truck instead of just building it for him.

Super glue works as a plumber all you need to do is pour PVC primer on a cut and when you stop rolling around on the ground it won't hurt anymore

I have the exact same scar on my left palm and on my stomach from a T post and broken wire. 😂 I almost passed out when my grandpa doctored it up for me. 😅
