Cairns also appear on the shore of Lake Superior, markers to those lost at sea. Hopefully with a crowd that big, have a grown- up designated to lifeguard.
I don't now how I found this channel but I'm sure glad I did. You do not have OCD. You are just a man that knows how things are supposed to be done and you do them right.
There’s a great hymn called “Come Thou Fount of Many Blessings”. One of the great lines from that hymn is, “here I raise my Ebenezer”. An “Ebenezer” is a rock formation erected to commemorate God’s faithfulness. You could look at your rock formations as your Ebenezer to God’s faithfulness to you and your family…just a thought.
Don’t be ashamed of having OCD. Half of your viewers probably also have it (me included) and find great joy in watching you create an environment that is soothing to us! Lol😂
Yup, Adam down in PA came up to Neil to do a pond video and that was how I found DDD. The best videos have Neil's wife looking askance at something he is up to...
You are right. You are not OCD but I think someone else there might be. You are just the muscle. But OCD is a superpower and shouldn’t be seen as a negative. Love your episodes. The pool looks amazing. She’s totally losing those umbrellas stands.
Next time you mulch those trees - call an arborist friend with a good chipper (bigger chippers with sharp blades make a big difference in the size/quality of chips) and get a load or two of their chips. They all end up the same color (bought or free) after a month or two. I would also trim the bottom branches of all of those conifers to allow for more airflow / increase distance from the soil. Most the diseases that kill pines / spruces come from the ground and preventable by keeping airflow high (the higher branches will fill in the lower gap by spreading out over time). Don't overdo it but tbh just trimming nearly all the branches with anything but the tips on the ground is a good strategy).
I always chuckle when I spend a full day working on my property, then I come in for the evening and relax by watching one of your videos where you spend all day working on your property. Nice work, great to see it all come together and be able to host friends. It's why we do it!
Thanks for including us for things like this. This is the reward as a direct result of you and your family’s hard work! Glad you get to have events like this now and get to enjoy it, it looks like a wonderful time and it warms the soul!
It does my heart good to see how you teach your daughters how to diy. Also how you make time for their activities. It seems you've found a good work/life balance. As a dad of grown sons, my encouragement to you is this: keep it up! Maintaining that balance is tough, especially in the trades, but it's so worth it. BTW I thoroughly enjoy your content. Thank you.
I also used to shovel trailer fulls of mulch to do the nine flower beds on my property. It would take me 6-8 hours and a lot of aches and pains afterwards. My next door neighbor asked me why I didn't "bucket" it? I had no idea was talking about. He explained to me that you take a 5 gallon bucket and just scoop it full from the trailer and then dump it wherever you need it. It was marvelous I did the same area in 2 hours total. Never again am I shoveling mulch! You should try it.
Hi Neil, if so many people can enjoy your pond then all the effort has been worth it. Looks really great, the right place to relax after a long day at work. A nice outdoor kitchen would be a good addition. Preparing a delicious BBQ while the family is swimming, that would be great greetings from Germany
WOW - The pool float hooks were my favorite. The girls did a great job! I'm also in agreement with taking out the little niche in the grass area & rounding it out. Looks so much cleaner. I absolutely love everything. You so deserve to enjoy your new space. It's PERFECT!
I had the same issue with umbrellas around my pool. First solution was to fill a pot with concrete and put a pvc pipe in it to insert the umbrella. Then I added plants. The issue was that eventually the pot needs replacing. My next solution was instead of a pot, put the pipe and concrete in a 5 gallon bucket. Them put the bucket in a pot and add dirt and plants. When and if the pot needs replacing it’s pretty easy to remove the bucket of concrete and move to a new pot.
Beautiful job and great selection for the patio furniture. You're never finished, but that being said, I'm always telling my wife... "Someday, we're just going to live here." 😂👍
My wife would not have been as quiet on how she felt about those tire weights. Place looks great. Now you can put in a tree line on the west side to block the winter winds!
another good video. For the umbrella stands you should get a couple of wooden barrels and do the same thing that you did to conceal the well head. you will also end up with another 2 tables
The place looks great. Not stalking I promise. Just drove by on the way back from Fort Wayne cutting crosslots to stop at my Brother in laws at 220 and 7. Just happened to realize it was your place as the skid steer was across the road. I had no idea you were that close. You are definitely a neighbor.
Looks incredible! I love the use of the tire base for the umbrella and thinking about how to remove it too. Lots of other great tips and ideas here. Nice work everyone!
Neil - you built an Inukshuk. The Inuit build them as memorials. Anytime you'd like to come north to Ontario, ill let you landscape my yard. You and your family have done an amazing job on your property! ❤️
You should get you some tire covers made for jeep spares, and put a hole in the center, and use it to cover those tires. You can get those with basically any design you want.
Oh, I can definitely see OCD, but what fun is it in being normal, or like normal. Like the umbrella stands, you and your family have a beautiful property and the people on/in it make it the home where family comes together. Thanks for the update appreciate you taking us along, fun time.
Summertime in Ft Wayne, I always remember my friend/boss Cyril Claudy, taking us to this place downtown where we had those onion smash burgers. Good times…
Beautiful results from all your hard work making a vision a reality from a Hole to a Whole lot of Fun. A Harvest of Smiles and Heart warming experiences in your Families future. Your Girls did a really Great Job on the Pool House. 😀👍👍👍
As a quick fix, I was half expecting you to spray paint the tires a "beachy" color and toss some decorative rock in the top to cover the concrete... 😂😂😂 For a more permanent solution, you could use a half whiskey barrel, upside down, doubling as a table... The furniture looks great and so does the "pool house"... Nice idea for hanging those floats!!!
Emmanuel.
That tune when you guys were digging the grass up reminded me of an old rock song. Now I'm trying to find out what it was called! I love watching your property improve. Looks great
Thank you. You are right. The song it reminded me of, tho was by the Cult. She sells sanctuary. Finally, I found it in my old apple songs, lol. Have a good day everyone
So Jealous... My Family is 45 miles North West of Ft Wayne... In the heart of the Amish country... Mom used to be Amish... I live 20 miles south of Houston TX... Love what you have done with the pond and surrounding area...
Hey Neal, about umbrella stands. In Florida they have umbrella stands that bolt up to the concrete, and for the winter they are removeable so you don't have trip hazards. See ya on the next one neighbor!
You can get some larger planters with flowers and bury the original base in them. Have part of pipe buried with adapter. If your barrel and bench start looking a little too weathered, might try a power wash on low to remove dirt from wood, then a clear protectant. Sorry I probably shouldn't give ideas for the Honey Do list, but they will look nicer and last longer.
We just completed our forever home in lake Cumberland ky . You set a pretty high bar Neil . There is no way I’m letting my wife see this channel lol . Joking aside the place looks great , fine job .
If that is actually OCD, it sure pays off well. If not, it still works to make things sharp. Looking good there Neil. The social aspect makes all that work worthwhile. Now you just need the trailer size whole hog BBQ pit/smoker nearby so the cook can socialize too. Pulled pork and ribs! Yum.
Yeah, those whiskey barrels cut down with a hole in the center would match real nice so your wife doesn`t have to stare at those tires .Nobody is ever gonna accuse you of being lazy, that is a beautiful piece of property, I love all the nice clean cut sharp lines, i`m a little OCD about that as well. Love the furniture, nice, big, heavy not gonna blow around, I wanted to see that firepit lit up, I have been looking at those as well, but there a little bit pricey, be well my friend.
Nothing like hosting a party to force the completion of the final touches. You all take pride in your property and it shows! Well done. 👍
That threat of an upcoming party or get together is the best motivation to get something done. It's an imposed deadline!
Haha, very true
Hey Neil have another party for your rehab of your truck & F750
Most major landscape projects in my life have been a result of someone’s upcoming bday party 😂
Half whiskey barrels with a hole in the middle upside down will cover the tires up! And maybe double as another table.
Great idea
Great video Please have Happy 4th July and safe one
Good idea
Great idea!
I thought exact same thing. It would look nice! Maybe brand 3 D's on them?
I hope the girls turn out exactly like their mother and find good, wholesome, smart, loving, and fun husbands (like father Neil)
I hope they marry an abuser
It’s not OCD Neil; it’s being a proud homeowner and father!
I love you including your daughters and teaching them, being patient with them and allowing them to learn!
Not OCD?! 😂😂😂 Now THATS funny. BTW, the rock stacks are called “Cairns”. See them out west marking hiking trails
I live in the North of Sweden we have them too to mark out trails and the same in Norway.
Cairns also appear on the shore of Lake Superior, markers to those lost at sea. Hopefully with a crowd that big, have a grown- up designated to lifeguard.
Rock formations made by indigenous peoples up north like in Canada are called inukshuks
I’ll say it again, Neil. You are one handy dude. You’ve got a great team too with your wife and girls. Thanks for the fun video!
I don't now how I found this channel but I'm sure glad I did. You do not have OCD. You are just a man that knows how things are supposed to be done and you do them right.
Your wife face was priceless when you showed her the tires.
Also, Joshua built stones of remembrance.
Don’t be ashamed of having OCD. Half of your viewers probably also have it (me included) and find great joy in watching you create an environment that is soothing to us! Lol😂
Myself as well!
Absolutely wonderful! Your friends and family will have SOO many memories from what you have all created!!👌👍CHEERS!!🥂
Highlight of the week dropped and as usual I switch out from my day for day and just immerse myself, love it Neil
A good engineer never throws anything away 😂
I love so much about this channel... thanks for all your hard work and sharing your pretty-darned-good life with us Neil.
My pleasure!
Reason I started following your channel THE POND. Excellent culmination.
Note: paint tires & have the girls paint flowers, fish etc on them.
Awesome! Thank you!

Love your episodes. The pool looks amazing.

Like many diagnoses, It depends on how it's handled by parents and other grown-ups around the child when it grows up.
Awww, I don’t know. I think they class the joint up a bit. Especially since he cleaned the white walls! 😁
Not OCD, it's called thorough and experienced. It's very fun to watch. Great work everyone, it looks amazing !!

The cairn is a great addition to that space! You rock!

The pride of ownership glows over the video. Great job and it looks amazing!⛱🏖🌊🍉🏊♂💦🚜🚲🎇⚾🦺🩳👙🔥🍕🧁🦮
Well deserved, after all of that work. This is a great transition from the kids playground area to a place for everyone to get together - A+ adulting.
Its always a GREAT video when Bruno is involved!!
Must say you did a really nice job. I can only imagine the wonderful memories your kids will have.

I'll try it!
"Back when I had dreams." Ha! Love watching the progress. The Pool House is pretty cool. Good job!

Great job Neil, looks fabulous great improve on the tire stands love watching your channel, great family and friends, you are blessed!!!
Love OC folks!! You two are definitely soul mates. Your home and landscape is immaculately staged. Love it.
WOW - The pool float hooks were my favorite. The girls did a great job! I'm also in agreement with taking out the little niche in the grass area & rounding it out. Looks so much cleaner. I absolutely love everything. You so deserve to enjoy your new space. It's PERFECT!
Neil I don’t think you have a problem with ocd I just think you and your wife take a lot of pride in your place. It looks really nice 👍

Neil, you might have the best yard and driveway on TH-cam! You got my vote.... You must have a lot of time on your hands!
You're an inspiration! Such a beautiful yard, such a beautiful family. Pure joy.
Beautiful job and great selection for the patio furniture. You're never finished, but that being said, I'm always telling my wife... "Someday, we're just going to live here." 😂👍
It looks fantastic! Love the pride that you take in your place! To make it complete you just need a flag pole! 🇺🇸 Thanks for sharing!
👍 🇺🇸
My wife would not have been as quiet on how she felt about those tire weights. Place looks great. Now you can put in a tree line on the west side to block the winter winds!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Exceptional job on the pond!
Thanks as always Aaron!

Good Sunday morning & may God bless you all today
Morning Terrance!

Just happened to realize it was your place as the skid steer was across the road. I had no idea you were that close. You are definitely a neighbor.
The Property looks amazing ! You and your family have done an amazing job and made something to be proud!
It is beautiful. Your girls will have great pond/pool parties and they’ll be nice and close to home. 😊
DDD and Diesel Creek are my 2 favorite Sunday shows…. Keep up the good work!
Clearly you’re not a dairy farmer. I’m glad you have the time fix up your property and post entertaining/informative videos. I enjoy them. 😁
I was wondering if there was one other person in the world thinking this exact thought. For us the viewers it's a win win.
Looks incredible!
I love the use of the tire base for the umbrella and thinking about how to remove it too.
Lots of other great tips and ideas here.
Nice work everyone!
Thanks! 👍
You all have beautiful piece of paradise going on in your back yard. Nice work! 👊🏼
Neil - you built an Inukshuk. The Inuit build them as memorials.
Anytime you'd like to come north to Ontario, ill let you landscape my yard. You and your family have done an amazing job on your property! ❤️
Glad you were able to enjoy the fruits of all that hard work!
I glad you are also working right up to party time. I thought we were the only ones. Great video.
Your pond was my start of following your channel. I like your livestyle and the inner attitude how you do your work. Greetings from Germany.
You should get you some tire covers made for jeep spares, and put a hole in the center, and use it to cover those tires. You can get those with basically any design you want.
A backyard of my dreams!!! Great job, dad!!!!!! ❤❤❤
OCDDDD!;) nice set up and never throw away a board or an old tire anchor, you never know when you’ll need it. Look forward to it every week.
Oh, I can definitely see OCD, but what fun is it in being normal, or like normal. Like the umbrella stands, you and your family have a beautiful property and the people on/in it make it the home where family comes together. Thanks for the update appreciate you taking us along, fun time.

Great video Neil!! Thanks for all your hard work for us viewers.
Love watching you and the family do the improvements . Helps me be less of a slacker with my property . ( sort of .)
19:37 A trailer spare tire cover, cut a slit/hole, slip over those pipes and those umbrella stands would look great!
The entire anchors for your own Brothers work pretty good look nice around the pool ads like an old fashioned to it😊
Beautiful results from all your hard work making a vision a reality from a Hole to a Whole lot of Fun. A Harvest of Smiles and Heart warming experiences in your Families future. Your Girls did a really Great Job on the Pool House. 😀👍👍👍
Neil looks like 👍 everything came together perfectly for the first poolside party 🎈 😮😊❤
Absolutely a great job. I really enjoyed this project.
As a quick fix, I was half expecting you to spray paint the tires a "beachy" color and toss some decorative rock in the top to cover the concrete... 😂😂😂
For a more permanent solution, you could use a half whiskey barrel, upside down, doubling as a table...
The furniture looks great and so does the "pool house"... Nice idea for hanging those floats!!!

Une fois de plus, Neil ne peut pas s’empêcher de faire des ronds pour niveler le gravier de la cour!
Passez un bon dimanche.
Emmanuel.
The beginning of the pond videos is where I came across your content.
Means just over a year I've been following along.
I love watching your videos! Your family is so cute and work well together on house projects! Living the dream my guy
So beautiful! Love this channel. A place for everything.
So nice to see it come together Neil
That tune when you guys were digging the grass up reminded me of an old rock song. Now I'm trying to find out what it was called! I love watching your property improve. Looks great
The Devil I know, Isaac Elliot I use the App Called SHAZAM to identify music.. Most of the time it is correct.
Great payoff for all of y’alls hard work. PS I love the way you classed up the phone with the tires. Nice touch.
Looks great. You Sir are one hard working fellow!
for the tires, get a vinyl spare tire cover and cut a hole for the pole!
Been watching this pond come together for a while now and def enjoyed watching you get its full potential
Hey Neal, about umbrella stands. In Florida they have umbrella stands that bolt up to the concrete, and for the winter they are removeable so you don't have trip hazards. See ya on the next one neighbor!
A cool rock cairn to remind you and the family that your all on the right track/trail of life!
Congrats to 1 year of the pond, and your place looks awesome.
In a world consumed by indifference, a person concerned with details gets labeled OCD 😂.
I greatly enjoy your attention to details.
Hi Neil. Looks like the party was a huge success! Now you have a great place to go if you are on stay-cation!
Make a flower ring you can put onto it and take it off when you want to change the flowers.
A couple galvanized tubs would cover that right up. Or build up a couple boxes about of scrap wood to have table tops at chair height. Nice job.
If the diameter of half whiskey barrels doesn’t work, you might try spare tire covers for an RV. Pretty inexpensive and come in a variety of colors.
The umbrella ancora look fine. Just spray rust with. Some black paint and put a Little Rock on top and of course tire shine em up!
You always do a brilliant job Neil.
We just completed our forever home in lake Cumberland ky . You set a pretty high bar Neil . There is no way I’m letting my wife see this channel lol . Joking aside the place looks great , fine job .
So happy your dreams came to fruition !
God I miss being part of a community like this. Tbh not sure if I ever was, but I think it's how we were meant to live.
Very nice job guys.
I think a gazebo and possibly a hottub setup would finish it all off back there
Whiskey barrel skirts for the tires. Add some small potted plants in them for color
Very cool Neil. Making memories the DDD way!
The tires are amazing!!!!!❤❤❤
Wow! Property looks spectacular!
Yum.

Love to see how projects like this turn out. Great vids and content :)
Thank you!
