    If you run a Carfax on your new Tesla, it might give you some service history.

    Lots of stuff missed here. Their site shows whether or not the vehicle comes with enhanced or FSD. Also each used Tesla comes with a 1 year/10k miles even if the original limited warranty expired. The lack of service history goes both ways. 3rd party or Tesla directly so that didn’t really seem mentions as far as favoring goes but I understand why to mention it. The only thing they strip now is the free supercharging. But any 2019 or older model S do come with their original 8 year term warranty but buying used with Tesla, mileage is unlimited. But the 1 year extra for other things aside from battery makes it worth it to me.

      @@FrugalNotCheap ya and that’s the main risk but as stated per their website site. It’s held up to Tesla standards and they are expecting any major alarms of functioning to be brought up if you find any at the Tesla dealer. But like any purchase always inspect and mentioned anything that the listing showed and not included (if discovered). I would expect small scuff etc but nothing crazy major eyesores. From the videos I have found of folks picking up their used Tesla from Tesla themselves seems to be in great condition. I do like your 2017 content but now doing more research im waiting for the right priced 2019 to show up due to that nice raven updates I read they did for that year. Keep up the good videos.

    Carvana can not and will not answer any questions that matter. IF you can figure out who the real seller is, it is best to talk to them.

      Good to know! That's how it worked for me, I worked with the seller and he was awesome

    What car company has good customer service and promptly answer phones?
    I’m finding the used cars on the Tesla website are universally priced lower than what private party sellers are listing their cars for. My best guess is that Tesla is probably pretty picky on what cars they will accept for second hand resale and sell everything else at auction which is why there are sooo many used car dealers selling sooo many teslas.
    I don’t really understand how private party sellers expect to get more than Tesla when selling a used car.
    I’m going to buy a used Tesla from Tesla and my best guess is that it’s going to be painless and easy.

      This video was 3 years ago, but even last summer when I thought I had to buy a new (used) car, Tesla prices were higher and there were no pictures. Either way, I hope you have a good experience and end up with a great car!

    So you got the car from carvana? How were they with getting you your title and registration after purchase?

      I don't remember how it went, but while I found the car on Carvana, I ended up working directly with the seller - South Shore Auto Brokers in Long Island. They made everything really easy

    how do i figure out if the car comes equipped with enhanced or fsd? do they not do that unless its from tesla directly?

      Best way is to ask for a photo of the "Software" tab in the UI. Many third party sellers know very little about Teslas lol

    I’m looking to buy my first Tesla. I found a 2017 S 75. 49k with FSD no supercharger… what should I look for?

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With FSD? That's pretty sweet! I'm not an expert, but some common points of failure are the door handles and also corrosion on the struts for the trunk. In my car, the drivetrain made a weird noise at 75mph but they replaced it under warranty. Is it air or regular suspension? Air is expensive to fix, so I'd check that out thoroughly. Again, I'm no mechanic or expert, be careful, and good luck! If you get it, I hope you love it as much as I love mine!

    I have a new M3 RWD on order but found a used 2019 SR+ with FSDfor $37K and decided to do that to save $10k. Wish me luck 😱

    I am still wondering why anyone would trade in their car to tesla. They give 10-15k less than vroom or a carmax

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure either! Maybe convenience, and they do price in FSD a little bit...but that's expensive convenience!

    • @gueroesr201
      @gueroesr201 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my specific situation, I actually got the best deal with Tesla. I did have a salvage title car that vroom, KBB, etc wouldn’t even give me an offer on. I could have gone third party, but as fugal explains, it’s a very expensive convenience that worked out in my specific situation.
