Explore the progress of the detailed, accurate and extensive virtual 3D reconstruction of ancient Rome from the sky, as it was in IV century CE. More than 50% of the City is already recreated in 3D. We're showing the results of this year, and speaking about plans for coming 2023. You can see the famous buildings of the center of Rome, like Colosseum, Forums and Capitol, and finished new areas, as baths of Caracalla surroundings (via Appia and Latina), and Circus Maximus as well. The complex of the Campus Martius is also almost completed, including Pantheon and Theater of Pompey.

It's amazing! It would be great if someday you could walk through this recreation in VR

It's so moving to fly over the ancient eternal city in such detail and think of all the millions of people, now long dead, who filled up those streets, theatres, circuses etc in that miracle of a city. The sheer grandeur is overpowering. Extremely impressive work, thank you all so much.
Wonderful work, thank you for all your effort to give us an idea of what this beautiful city would have been.
Your important work will be appreciated by thousands of people around the world. Thanks very much!
Amazing work, doing a historically accurate 3d version of this time period is incredible.
Your videos are always stunning, but I think a greater appreciation of these fascinating images would be enhanced if the shadows were not so deep. I feel a lot of your work is obscured by these shadows.
Beyond spectacular! Excuse me while I pick my jaw up from the floor. For the New Year of 2023 your team has miraculously transported us back in time to witness the most magnificent city that ever existed. You are working in the grand tradition of the Renaissance and if the artists, architects and scholars of the 15th & 16th centuries could see this (or even Rodolfo Lanciani, for that matter), their minds would be more blown than mine is right now. I look forward with great anticipation to your future work bringing the past to life. Bravo, bravo a million times BRAVO! - Tanti Auguri di Buon Capodanno!
I’m into this just like you been to Rome 31 times
Apaixonante, belissimo e espetacular esse trabalho. Parabéns!!! Sempre venho correndo para ver seus vídeos.❤️🏛 🇧🇷
Hoping that this can eventually be imported into an engine like Unreal with all of the fidelity it offers and toured in VR. In the future I would love to see numerous cities and locations from classical antiquity rebuilt in VR to the most accurate standard possible, perhaps sharing a common year. I can dream.
I just came back from a vacation in Rome and I feel like my soul is still there.
I'm Roman. Being a Son of this City it is a pride, so big, that i can't describe.
Stunning! Thank you.
unbelievable 😮 I give you my compliments, simply stunning
This is incredible
This is amazing! Such detailed work. You have done an incredible amount of research, and it shows.
Wonderful! And great fun to follow your progress in bringing ancient Rome back to life. Thank you!
Breathtaking!!! I came back from there a week ago, my heart is still in Rome ❤️ Thank you
Thank you dear friend! Your recent Colosseum investigation is truly amazing! 👍
Was there last month. Been to Rome 31 times. Rome is awesome
The influence on current European architecture is so obvious and amazing to see. Inculae apartments, Roman tile roofs, concrete, etc.
@@historyin3d Thank you!
@@ancientsitesgirl inteligent and historic girl.congratulations
Amazing reconstruction, this is quite likely the best and most detailed reconstruction of ancient Rome ever created. Bravo !
Thank you dear colleague! I look forward to a number of common projects in the coming year!
Incredible, ROMA AETERNUM!!!
Magisterial is the only word I have to describe this project
Thank you.
After 31 times to Rome we call it home now
Great work!
great work
Very good job ! Toujours un très bon travail ! Un vrai ravissement !
Un grand merci !
Thank you for this once again. Keep up the beautiful work. God bless you and your family. Have a happy New Year. I look forward to seeing your work. Great selection of music to accompany the tour.
C'est un travail merveilleux 💐💐💐💐merci beaucoup pour ce que vous faites.
BRAVO!
Bravo
I love this. Keep it up!
Your work is incridible... great gift to humanity you're doing here
magnificent work, one of the best channel here on youtube! 🏛
I wish I could just walk the streets of Rome and witness the great ancient city.
well done
I absolutely always enjoy watching your great historical reconstructions of Roma, Caput Mundi. And your choice of background music.
Just imagine how Rome would look like today if all the grand palaces, Thermae, Basilicae would still stand in perfect conditions in addition to the grand newer buildings like the Vatican-state, the Lateran-Basilica, the Fontana di Trevi, all the other churches and cathedrals and the EUR quarter and the modern Stazioni Termini di Roma and many buildings in the renaissance architecture or in the baroque style.
I've been watching these "Rome Recreated" videos for over a decade now, and this one is the best I've ever seen. Bravo!
I'm so excited to see the Campus Martius! Congratulations on all the work thus far!
Thanks and will be more!
Roma, o Roma,
My most beloved
Queen of all cities!
Where hast thou gone?
I weep tears for thine light,
Every night.
Phenomenal content! I was just there last week, and wished I'd have seen these videos, prior to my trip. I do, however go to Rome frequently, so I'll definitely be studying location and integrity of these structures, before my next trip. Thank you! This must have been painstaking work....but, I can definitely say, based on the outcome, it was worth every moment you've invested into the final product! Beautifully done!
Incredible! You are doing great work.
Thank you!
yay
We are thinking about purchasing a small apartment in Rome. Capital of the world. Forza Roma per sempre
I can verify that this video is accurate...
From what I can remember anyway...
Amazing work. Do you have plans to publish this in game format so that we can walk through these reconstruction with other people?
This is truly amazing. I dream about a VR experience where one day the whole world of Antiquity is free to explore, how awesome would that be!
how about showing (as close as possible) to what Rome looked like during the republic?
The addition of more buildings in Campus Martius will be very interesting, since for the next 1000 years basically all of medieval Rome would live there (30,000 people), whereas the east, central and south part of the city would be in ruins of used for pasture and farming.
Eccellente.
Truly spectacular. I hope to see something of this quality come to VR headsets
thank you very much for this fantastic video. I can't imagine the work behind this video, but also the incredible passion you put into it. Thanks again and Happy New Year to everyone from Italy. ❤
we need a construction game with this :D
Very similar to Ohrid old city... Its entire architecture seems Roman-inspired (from Byzantine source)
Wonderful as always. a few questions, if you don't mind. (1.) 7:27 What was the biggest bath complex in Rome? I thought it was the baths of Caracalla. (2.) Are there still plans to make this model available to buy for us to play with. I know that was mentioned years ago, but I don't know if that's still part of the current plans. Thank you, and I look forward to more videos.
1) The biggest one is the baths of Diocletian.
2) Yeah, that plans are still actual, the app is in progress just big amount of work to be done.
Magnissimum opus.
You should sell it as a first person game just to explore it. I'd buy it, especially in VR
wtf this looks better then real life world
Will you be back? Just found your channel
💙
😮oooh!
😲aaah!
Uau, que trabalho lindo. Sua equipe pode vender o projeto para equipes de cinema e universidades de arquitetura. Amazing. I love it.

Middle East accounts of old called Rome the red city
What software are you using to model this in? What software to simulate it in? Thanks! :)
Good video.Mille grazie,greetings from Rome
Is there a 3D video of Hadrian's Villa?
Amazing....I walked around the Palatine and the baths of Caracalla several times and was amazed of the view on the Circus Maximus.....now I can finally see how it all matched when the building are intact. Beautiful work! Thank you!
Amazing and wonderful as always and magnificant work! Have a happy new year and may your plans come true!
Nice animation and nice narration. Good job!
Please release this as a fully explorable map, either by flying around, walking or VR as opposed to a "waypoint" or "video tour only".
Io sono di Roma e ti dico solo una cosa. GRAZIE
Thanks for this video.
Brillant beautiful amazing
BRAVI BRAVI BRAVI…your work is so precious, BIG THANKS from Italy
Bro this is amazing. Really astonishing work, thank you
I love the big temple of venus felcis female of female love n happiness !more than the fighting area!
It makes you wonder how we view art in the future on the earth moon n mars n callisto!in space!
Happy new year !!
Have you topographically developed the Sacred area of Sant'Omobono ??
Thanks! In progress. Very complicated area.
I imagine .... 😉
Thank you for recreating this story. I always follow every new issue with interest. Happy New Year to you.
You should port this in Unreal 5.1 and make a VR walk simulator.
Working.
I love your work. This is one of my favorite videos. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Rome is a beautiful city, but no comparison to the ancient city of Rome with all the amazing buildings.
wow, very impressive
Fantastic, keep up the good work,
Great update! Thanks a lot
This is outstanding guys. As an historian of the period I'm impressed even the Transtib area-- Kudos
Amazing. Is it possible to download a model an roam freely about in Ancient Rome?
One day the game app will be released.
Magnifico😀🤩😍
Thank you
I doubt that the ceilings were all sloped covered with red tiles.
Nothing spectacular about tiled rooftops in ancient Rome. It was the least of their achievements and there is ample archaeological evidence.
You should really do the Naumachia Augusti in Transtiberim. That’s the largest arena in the ancient world.
Fascinating and most helpful, especially as l am planning to visit Rome again. Thankyou for your skill and generosity to History.
Wow.....
GReat job
Excelent work!!
It is beautiful. You are doing a fantastic work.
I am a college student and I am starting a YT channel. I am making some alt history videos and I was wondering if I can clip some videos. I would credit you and it would only be short clips. I really like the way your 3d cities and models look. Thanks.
The narration is exquisite!
Timed perfectly with the scenery, with very specific yet limited precise details!
(I am think only a true Human voice can express such reverence and inflection control
many thanks, always fascinated to see your work.
