S3 is definitely one of the best seasons from the whole show. The arc of the show building up to Graduation Day is brilliantly handled. The part where they try to break in to steal The Box Of Gavrok is obviously a parody/homage to The Mission Impossible movie and adds some comedic relief to the episode. Willow is now really gaining real power, and this is great foreshadowing here. It was interesting to see Oz who is normally calm and collected in human form absolutely flip when Wesley was saying there should be no swap. Great interaction with Angel and The Mayor. Faith leaving the knife behind also very symbolic for the future. Graduation Day is a brilliant finale to come.
Good reaction to a solid episode. My thought was that everyone had choices, but Buffy had no choice. She is the chosen one and like a monarch she has one supreme job to accomplish regardless of her personal emotions or feelings. We sometimes get caught up with what demon Buffy is fighting but she is at the mouth of the hellmouth. Buffy is the line of defense against evil and she knows she cannot leave but must stay to fight and defend.
"She's gonna sit there and read..." Yep. That's Willow! Really looking forward to Bel's reaction to the next episode! One of the stupidest monsters of the week, one of Xander's most mature decisions, and one of the best moments for Buffy in the whole show so far... ❤ Also, tell Bel she has great hair! Love the color! But the shirt... 😂

Spoilers Wesley was right. They could have saved dozens or more if they had destroyed the box. They still could have attempted a rescue mission, but the risk of failure would have been worth it. Season 7 Buffy would have made that choice I think. Wesley’s character develops a lot, but making the hard choices was always part of it.
is it just me, or is the promo for _the prom_ actually halfway decent? i didn't catch any lies or spoilers, but it does seem to give you reason to watch next week, other than the fact that it's a _buffy_ episode so anyone with taste would be watching anyway.
SPOILERS FOR THE REMAINDER OF SEASON THREE Buffy and Angel being are in such denial about a three-month relationship; _Halloween_ through _Surprise_ was their official dating period. Before that, it was attraction going nowhere and since Angelus, they do an on and off thing that doesn't really seem to be dating. Although, when it comes to denial, Buffy must get it from Joyce who isn't getting the picture of Buffy not being able to leave town for school. Faith could've helped (not take over, as Joyce suggested) with that if The Scoobies hadn't ostracized her even before The Deputy Mayor incident, but most high school seniors don't think in advance as well as they are encouraged. I don't think The Mayor's being an asshole so much as telling the harsh truths Giles, Joyce, Willow, Xander, Oz, Cordelia, and even Wesley to a degree should be been telling them. Even Spike had something to say about them getting out of a different type of denial. Buffy even took the right lesson from Spike and dumped Angel at one point early on this season, only to get back together with him at the end of _Amends_ just after Angel attempted suicide by sunlight (although we don't see evidence of it untl the _Enemies_ episode). Being harsh is all that's left to get through to either of them. If they couldn't learn from the curse or the Scoobies, harsh truth are all that's left. It's not a coincidence that The Mayor and Joyce are who get through to Angel. On top of all Bangel's above mentioned problems, Angel has no identity except for being Buffy's boyfriend, even when he isn't.
I wish it were that simple. That I could fix! Lol. No, I still don't know why it happened. It's fine, it's fine & then boom, echo. 1:11. Hope it wasn't too annoying to your sonic hearing, batman. 😁
The Box of Gavrok. It sounds like it would be from some sort of treasure trove you find in D&D. But you wouldn't want to open it.
