Spike's intro in this episode makes me crack up every time.
Oz referencing how sometimes he and Angel are laconic after both of them say once syllable words back and forth to each other always gets me.
I get Angel's point on the ring, but acting like it could ever come in handy is a mistake even if he is also worried about it falling into the wrong hands. Why worry about this what if, but not others like what if Cordelia gets kidnapped again? It's happened before.
The Gem of Amara Ring is from BTVS S4 episode. This is why it really make sense to watch both shows in the correct watch order as they are both linked with crossover plots, characters and storylines. Many felt it was wrong of Angel to destroy the ring, but of course it could have fallen into evil hands again. Some great little comedy moments again, especially with Doyle and Cordelia. Great to see Spike back again as he is a pivotal character in The Buffyverse. Angel is a much darker show, but its very best episodes match anything from BTVS. Here it is interesting seeing Spike chasing The Gem of Amara, as Buffy wants Angel to have it to make him invincible. Angel even though he has tasted 'daylight' knows that the ring could fall into the wrong hands again and so must destroy it, again making him possibly the most tragic character in The Buffyverse. Great to see Oz crossover as well as Spike, and the wonderfully awkward meeting again of Oz and Cordelia.

It's nice to see you 2 again, you were missed! You've obviously had other completely understandable priorities, I'm assuming (hoping) at least some of the situations that weren't going so well before have improved. You seem to be in good spirits and I am glad. Us fans get to see you again so everybody wins!

Thanks so much, David! We *do* have a lot going on right now. But it's all good news. Both Bel and I got new jobs. And that has taken time away from filming and editing. But we are playing catch up now.
I'm glad I could get these episodes up together. I watch reactors too and I hate waiting a whole week or more to see the next half of a 2 parter or episodes that should be viewed together. So I always try to upload them at the same time on YT.
I'm so happy you enjoyed them! Hopefully, We will see you sooner rather than later with the next episodes.

I like this crossover episode - and I think Angel made the right choice in destroying the ring. Everyone would have come after it, and we've seen how easy it is to pull the ring off a vampire's finger...
But Angel's biggest fear? What if he kept the ring...and turned back into Angelus? How dangerous would Angelus be if he were invincible?

Hey bluegypsy! I hadn't planned on reacting to HOTD on TH-cam. We may put it on Patreon in the future. I don't have to edit for Patreon and I don't have to worry about copyright, so putting it there is just easier. But as of now, there are no plans.
I haven't watched it bcs I was waiting just in case we were able to fit it in, but with our day jobs cutting into filming and already editing 2 shows it probably won't happen anytime soon.
