- When it comes to iconic roles in film, we can’t imagine anyone else playing them but the actor we know now. Can you imagine Michael Corleone and Vito Corleone being played by any actors other than Al Pacino and Marlon Brando? The Godfather would have been a very different movie.
But today we know that studio executives weren’t keen on having Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, and other great actors like Laurence Olivier and Burt Lancaster were considered for the role of Vito Corleone.

Nah, that's one of the least. I'm sure there were a hundred kids that could have done just as well. It's a kid's role, the actor isn't expected to give an Oscar worthy performance and so it's pretty easy to fill.

Children don't have the skill, the talent, the knowledge, or the maturity to bring to roles acting greatness that the best adult actors have to give. It's like picking people to play on the grade school basketball team. The kids all suck. There's not much of a skill gap between best and worst, as opposed to professional basketball. They're the cream of the crop. So, yeah, when you have a thousand kids audition for the role of Harry, there are prob a hundred who would do just fine. They're pretty much just looking for someone who looks the role.
When I think about Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, shouldn't the studio have test screen the chemistry between the two actors before casting.

I assume they did that with Dakota and Charlie Hunnam. But when he dropped out, they had to scramble to find a replacement and I guess they didn't have time to do a chemistry test with Dakota again.

Timmy Nguyen not just a single mother. someone who was kidnapped at the age of 17, bore a son of her kidnapper, and then only got to escape in her early 20s. and she had to overcome all the traumatic experiences after all those, while being a mother to her child. brie larson executed that role perfectly, and she deserved that oscar. i love saoirse ronan, but she was nothing compared to brie in that season.

If you don't mind subtitles, you can watch the Swedish film trilogy from 2009. I read the books first and then watched the American version of "Dragon Tattoo". I got tired of waiting for the other two movies and then realized the Swedish films were on Netflix and really good.

7:07 I love the way the narrator said " perfect " because Amy Dunne was obsessed about projecting to be flawless. Rosamund Pike stepped into Amy Dunne's mindset, then used Amy's charming ability to mislead people into believing she's this " perfect victim " that eventually terrified us. When we found out the ugly truth as she drove away in her very forgettable Craig's List bought car Ford Festiva.
I feel like Rosamund Pike is so underrated. She's just stellar in everything but she really proved she could do anything with Gone Girl. So talented.

My heart sings praises to most here, with special mentions to 'Gone Girl', 'James Bond' franchise, Hans f'ing Solo & Star Wars, Burton's Batman, 'Harry Potter' franchise, and 'Ferris Bueler's Day Off'. How I allow myself to discluse 'The Godfather' numero uno, 'Austin Powers' franchise and 'Friends' is beyond me. Proud to say I watch films with prized leading roles. *Pats self on back*

I'm incredibly surprised the role of Cable was not on this list cause there were many articles that came out saying literally all men in their 40's or older were auditioning for that role.
Amy Dunne is one of d most lethal complex, cunning, strong characters in Hollywood n Rosamund was 100% fit n suitable for it n ithink she made character even more lively n lethal. She should have definitely won an Oscar fr dat performance hands down.

One of the very few films that no one has dared tried to re-make is "Gone With the Wind." How can you top Vivian Leigh, Clark Gable and Olivia de Havilland? But, even with this being sacred ground, it hasn't stopped film makers from trying to re-do such legendary films as "Ben Hur." There is nothing "sacred" in Hollywood. If they thought they could somehow withstand an instantaneous firestorm of protest at the mere suggestion of re-making "Gone With the Wind" producers would be faced with the daunting task of casting the roles. No one has the guts to even make an attempt. All producers know in advance that any such venture would implode. The film is spectacular -- all the more so for being shot in color in 1939. But what sets "Gone With the Wind" apart from any other film is the casting and the chemistry of the actors.
They'll never re-make GWTW because it was/is an incredibly racist movie in the way it portrayed blacks as "slow and stupid", dependent on their "masters". Oh, and of course, they were all "happy" to be slaves....
