I'm not an expert on black decks, but from what I understand, it works to increase the cost of your characters and not lower the cost of your opponent's? I confess that I found this mechanic interesting XD
Correct. You raise your own characters cost so that you can either apply the effects that are reliant on having high cost characters, or you stop your opponent from potentially removing characters the following turn
That 1c event to draw and increase cost seems cool. Would love to throw it into my Lucci deck for locals to troll. It would mainly be for black mirror matches obvs but yeah haha. Leader looks interesting and so do the cards, Im excited in the future of this new mechanic developing further. I didnt major in applied mathematics ;) so I might have some trouble down the line with mathing out removal when opponent has increased cost to everything. This plus the negation mechanics being introduced with blackbeard are going to spice up the color black and meta in general, im def excited! I love how black keeps getting baited with Rush cards, they have some but they are all just not perfectly right for use yet. I always joke with my friends about the Rush Brook from EB. That rush luffy is expensive but in combo off jack like you mentioned, could be sick. Its just another 8c brick in hand tho. We have enough in the decklists as is.
I think I love this deck (post ban). Getting your cards out of range of bottom decking, ko-ing, & resting effects. It really messes w/ the other players curve, I had two sanjis out w/ stage and they couldn’t be hit by ‘raging tiger’.
Yeah it's interesting to say the least! I don't think it will shine as much as the removal based black decks but it definitely has potential in the future!
Penguinz0 (Charles) did the video in his main channel about OPTCG yesterday. The video title is "I Used To Hate This". Looks like he is having fun.
Yeah I saw that! It's honestly great to see him enjoying the game so much :)

My leader card isn't holographic like yours. I thought the starter decks all had the same cards. 😢
@@nickmasters wait what? I've never heard of one but being Holo. It should be

My thoughts exactly! Could be cool in the future for sure!
