Just checked this company out and he is still a director and the 2020 accounts show a £10.5 million turnover with nearly half a million profit. Even spotted Kelly's 25% allocation from 2013.
He sold the company to likewize last year.

I think it's very obvious the apprentice more than half the candidates they allow onto the show have 0% chance of making the cut. But they feel will add to the shows entertainment for the casual viewer.
@@FatboyTom Yeah I get that. I think even the final ones are lacking. The final 5 were the same team who couldn't do simple multiplication in one of the first tasks.
Kind of sucks when you think you have an Ace in the beginning that says I'll wait for all of them to be out so we can negociate a deal.
I think this deal was fair to be honest. 50k and he giving only 25% of his business, kelly didnt ask for a whole lot, and he got a dragon that can actually open doors for him. I think he is lucky.
She was fair. 25% is a hefty amount but when you consider the lack of protection and slight profits I can see why she went in at that figure. I imagine Peter would have gone 40% if he offered.
She made a good choice since he did really well with it over the following years.
When you consider the man was doing some lab work in mamas basement.. that 50k will help out alot :)

This guy seems like a great guy and entrepreneur. Although the product doesn’t seem very useful now with most modern phones being water proof up to a certain depth.
Personally I think ‘water resistant’ is more fitting.
Yea they are not waterproof. If you need to replace a screen, battery, or back glass, ANYthing will break the water seal and it will no longer be water-resistant. Some shops can reseal it of course but it's extra $ that you might not have at the time.

I see this product must o have in campers, boats summer places etc, But if its highly flammable i think it makes a hazard specially in boat.
Boats run in diesel mostly bcs less flammable than gasoline.
25% for 50k seems steep. I think he definitely is young enough and smart enough to make it on his own. Selling a quarter of his business just for accelerated growth... When most chains have their own buying dept, you don't even need doors opening.

Kinda messed up for Peter to tell the other dragons to drop out so he could have it, only to drop out himself. Dude makes more than £50K per episode just to sit there; even if the proposed business isn’t all there yet, he could def afford to take a long shot every now and then.

I lost a track of how many phones I broke. Since I started using shockproof and waterproof phones, it has been only 3 losses in the last 5 years. Easier to keep a track.

Nice product, but nowadays most phones are waterproof to some extent with some people opting for accident insurance. Pretty limited market in 2023 imo.

It's not early stage. I think he has ideas wasn't fully mapped out to crush competition. He instead off he I informed about product creative possiblity. He should needs to know how to understand packaging

I'm confused, why couldn't you buy this at an airport? Obviously not because its liquid because you'd be buying it after security just like you would a bottle of water or alcohol. is it because its flammable? You can take a disposable or zippo lighter in your hand baggage and alcohol is also flammable.
