Afternoon Derek. Fingers crossed mete. Now you've filled ya crack, all will be well. A bit of welding to be done, but at least if you've stopped the water ingress, that can be done. You DEFINITELY deserve a bit of luck with the LR. Heres looking forward to the update. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay warm. Alan L200
Love the Land Rover videos.. great content and very informative...can u give a quick explanation on taking up the carpet in the foot wells.. did you just cut them out? Cheers Alan
Yes, more or less. The passenger one was already cut, apart from the top bit which I did. The drivers side I cut just in front of the CD player. It ends under the player but that meant taking out the seat and CD player. I'm all for a simple fix. Hopefully, with the seats in their ordinary places, the cut will not be too noticeable.
Thanks for these videos they are a good help .I've got those plastic bits missing that you pointed to at corner of windscreen my headliners getting wet right in the corners and along where it meets the windscreen inside cab
Hi Rob. I think the plastic corners are cosmetic anyway. If not sealed then they just shovel water into the footwell. The real problem is the windscreen seal corners at 6.12. I filled the entire top of the seal from side to side and it helped. If the problem persists then it is probably the sunroof's.
@@Rob-le9fs Oh, you mean the windscreen rubber corners. I thought they were part of the windscreen rubber. Might be a trip to a scrapyard and pull the entire windscreen rubber out, or, fill the entire hole with sealant. I doubt if just the corners can be picked up seperately. Try Rimmer Bros catalogue. Good Luck!
@@sleepycatpictures1176 yea thats them .I will see if I can find any or I will take your advice and find a breakers see if I can get them .thanks for the info and the videos they do really help alot .thanks again
Think you're on the right track here. From inside the car, it's easy to see the water but much harder to figure out where it's coming from. From the outside, it's much harder to see where the water's getting in but is should (hopefully) be a bit easier to spot holes and cracks that aren't supposed to be there. To help with drying out the interior, I'd suggest buying a couple of dessicant dehumidifiers (the ones which are, basically, plastic tubs with dessicant in) from your local poundland and then bunging them inside the car with an electric fan-heater. That'll work much better than just a fan-heater by itself. Even if you haven't found the source of the leak, if you can dry the interior quicker than the water's getting in it should make it more obvious which areas are getting wet first and help you figure out where the leak is.
Thanks Si. I'm hoping it'll be good tomorrow when I have a look. Carpets hanging out to dry at the moment. At least it should be easier to spot without the big sponges soaking up the evidence!
hey....my son's 2000 disco 2 has a leak in this same spot at the top left side (your drivers side) at the top of the A pillar. he is missing that rubber flashing bit that you point to at point 5:49 in the video. do you know where these can be sourced from?
I though that . . . more or less! To be honest, I knew it would be a problem sooner or later, but this way, it'll be sorted before the MOT. It needs doing anyway from a safety aspect too.

Blimey that's a tough question. Scrapyards probably, or a trawl through ebay. Good luck!
Bloody rust.
