I served in Missouri and the governor Boggs movement of getting rid of the members of the church of Jesus Christ was still active. It wasn’t till a few years ago that the movement was lifted and no longer actionable towards members Of The Church. The hinge analogy is a great symbol of measure for every little act we make in life. The eternal blessings or lack their of is based and ruled by the small acts that make big course directions in this life and eternally.
I never knew this story of Thomas B.Marsh, and how it was he that was responsible for going to the authority who then submitted the extermination order. So many deaths! I would not want to be in Marsh’s shoes, and I will add that the forgiveness Marsh received must have been very hard to give. We are asked to forgive all those we are angry with, and this particular incident (for me) would have been a very hard one to obey.The brethren, however, were righteous and obedient to give their forgiveness to Marsh.
The Native people needed to be honored more than Spencer Kimble. If it weren't for the Native people, the Saints may not have survived the difficult weather and terrain in Utah.
