Thanks for this vid fam I'm waiting patiently for the evo 5 to be ready for import in 2023 been my dream car since the first gran turismo days so this definitely solidify my purchase to get one in the future. Can't wait!!!
Really good video, I love my Evo 6 GSR for many of the points you raised. I too bought mine because it was a case now or never due to their value rising. I don't know if its the same for you but I find just even cruising around its such an experience to just be sat in, from seeing the bonnet vents, the way the Recaros grip you to seeing the spoiler in the mirrors, it's great! Then you put your foot down and wow.
I have a evo 6 gsr and a supra. It sounds odd to hear but I like the evo more. It's so connected to the road, the recaros are comfortable, brembos stop perfectly, full time awd, and 2.0T. I couldn't ask for a better setup. I just wish Mitsubishi undercoated the damn cars.
@@SupramanTRD Totally agree on the undersides, mine is quite decent for a 21 year old car but I will be having a full restoration carried out this year to preserve the car for many more years to come. I've never driven a Supra, but going by magazines like Evo magazine I'm not surprised to hear you prefer the Evo for the reasons you've described, it's akin to what the road testers have said.
Always great to see another TME! Great video man. My TME has to be my favourite car I've owned of all my JDM cars over the years. I can't see myself ever letting go of it :)
I've not yet owned an EVO, I've owned 3 generations of base model lancers, i agree 100 percent every thing you talked about, lately I 've had the urge to make sure that every one is up to date and the legend title is the EVO 6 that's the nature of reality... If you one day part with your s you will endure deep regret.. Regard less of the sale price, you must never sell it, it's your mission to keep what makes life great and do your best in up keep 😉 long live the mighty king 👑 🙏
Gtr-registry actually has a complete database of which number your TME is out of 3020 gsr's according to its chassis number to which color it was from factory , factory fitted options and even the exact month of its manufacture date. They are going bonkers in prices with averaging of 2 - 5 million Yen and it is not even US legal yet in the auctions, I can only imagine if it is. One of the best choice for a practical performance oriented rally proven reliable machine.
Personally I prefer the White, hence why I bought one. Cost me $25,000 10 years ago. Last time I looked at how much these cost to buy now my jaw dropped to the floor.
I plan on getting one soon imported into the U.S. im just wondering how reliable it is, mainly because since we didn’t get any Evos of that generation here in the US I would have to import parts for when I need them. Not only that but the Evo’s that were sold in the states do not have a big reputation for reliability 😂 they need too many things replaced so they can become somewhat reliable. I know its something that you don’t really look at when buying these cars, I expect to be stranded maybe once or twice but when it happens often thats when I start to get irritated
nice video but no evo 6 tme came with any type of antilag. that's an aftermarket mod. either by an ecutek remap or a proper add on ecu like autronic or vipec (I owned one for 7 years)
Awesome Video! Beautiful spec as well. I've been looking at Evo's in Australia for almost 6 months now, and seriously considered getting one, but the car had no history over here and I couldn't find any auction sheets or history in Japan. Do you find this is the case for almost all of them, and you should just buy on condition? Personally, I find it pretty incredible that the guy who imported the car had it for 10 years and didn't keep a single receipt to pass onto the new owner!
Robin Holt absolutely mate! I went through twelve different cars before I found this and bought it. They all have dodgy history or bad auction grades etc. You’ll find one, just be patient and keep your head up!
Ahh. Loving your evos man! Im on the hunt for evo 5 or 6 at the moment. Gonna collect some jdm legends. Seriously it is hard to find “pure” evo in my country. There is, but the wannabes i called it, the converted ones. Sad. Gotta dig deeper then.
Good vid, but you don't mention the biggest cons... 1. Rust 2. TINY fuel tank for its consumption 3. Terrible turning circle Other than that, they're perfect. :D
I noticed the small fuel tank, and most certainly noticed the rediculous amount of rust these things have. I'm taking mine apart for sandblasting to remove all that corrosion.
I swear all evo vi videos here on youtube are the TME, Who the Fuck cares?! I just want a few videos of the "Normal" edition, showroom stock damn it. lolz, but yeah NICE CAR.
I want one of these so bad it aged so well and still looks well

Yuhaa Kanuken, that made me laugh. Love the car dude.

You forgot to mention the Celica GT4
I bought a 1989 gen 5, down in NZ. Never get tired of looking at it.
Recently bought my dream Evo ix, not the pure car the 6 tme is but I completely agree. The cars just so amazing to drive and addictive. Great video
Always great to see another TME! Great video man. My TME has to be my favourite car I've owned of all my JDM cars over the years. I can't see myself ever letting go of it :)
what other jdm cars have you owned/driven. im currently in the market for one
1 of the many cars I have on my list to buy here in Japan, good video and will help me decide what I get in the end.
JDM Passion glad I could help
I missed this Evo 😢

Cracking video mate, really well done.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo TME is a dream car to own
Great video man!! Love it. Surprised I didn't make a feature in some of the footage!🤣
just bought a white 6. it will be in adelaide Thursday arvo, can't wait. will own a tme one day..
i'm greatful to have a white 6 as well. I love it enough that I can't be bothered with the tommi mak.
Enjoy Kean! How exciting, you’ll love it
Whats it like living with a evo 6 ??? Gsr i presume?
I had a black TME. Regret selling it. I totally agree with you. It is a fantastic car. Now I own 2015 STI VAB , nothing compare to my old TME
Ever owned an old sti? Like a gc8?

Great looking car! Wish the car companies would reproduce these great cars.
Surprised you didn't mention the Audi S1 Quattro Group B at the beginning but otherwise great video!!
nice video but no evo 6 tme came with any type of antilag. that's an aftermarket mod. either by an ecutek remap or a proper add on ecu like autronic or vipec (I owned one for 7 years)
& btw your dash is off an evo 5.
6 has blue dials. tme has red.. might want to check your papers 😉

New Zealanders are really bad at keeping receipts. Bought my evo with zero but the guys story matched the carjam report.
How many kms has your one got and how much is it selling for now in 22?

How do you get the mild pops and crackling ?
Well said Patrick
I think this car was for sale on Carsales a few months ago.
Well he did say it wasn’t forever.
Do a SA's Greatest on a Liberty wagon
Pretty sure that car should have clear indicator lenses, not amber. 😉👍🏻
remember me, one day I will have this car...
What's the exhaust on your Evo bro?
Just sold my daily evo 8 GSR can't afford 15 mpg anymore
Good vid, but you don't mention the biggest cons...
1. Rust
2. TINY fuel tank for its consumption
3. Terrible turning circle
Other than that, they're perfect. :D
I’ve never noticed the turning circle issue in 4 years of ownership or fuel tank size hahahaha
Hi2len Duffy I get like 330km on a full tank of gas lol. Full bolt ons with stock turbo running stock boost and just eats it up lol.
I noticed the small fuel tank, and most certainly noticed the rediculous amount of rust these things have. I'm taking mine apart for sandblasting to remove all that corrosion.
if ur a p plate in aus can u get
I have a lancer too. GLX power🤣
I see you don’t have a TME cluster in there….
I swear all evo vi videos here on youtube are the TME, Who the Fuck cares?! I just want a few videos of the "Normal" edition, showroom stock damn it.
lolz, but yeah NICE CAR.
Like your comments. nice video. Pity U do not have the red one though ;)
Kan_cu_nin
4 times WC needs to be pronounced correctly my man 🙂
Ha! Suck it US, we can get them and R34s here in Canada!
Yep, I got a mk4 supra, evo 6, and altezza wagon for less than a used honda civic. Gotta love our import laws.
& so is the boot. your cars an evo 5 mate. haha. sorry but I'm right. check it out.
rusty..
