An amazing timeless beautiful rally legend from Mitsubishi Motors Japan , the MITSUBISHI LANCER ......proud to own this beautiful legend. Excellent video & nice presentation. Lots of love from INDIA & UAE.
@@thepaddockco I brought it home🤗, almost 10 years since I last had one, only 3 owners since it was registered into the country in 98, It wasnt hard to do the homework I managed to speak to all 3 previous owners Ireland is a small country😂, it spent the last 6 years in dry storage 168K(km) on the clock, very reasonably priced as the owner now resides in Australia and had the car in his ownership the last 16 years and just wanted it gone🤞🏽
Richard Burns used to have a silver Evo IV as a company car with the reg plate P66 MRE. I believe Robert Reid also owned it but then gave the car back to Ralliart
Had my Evo 4 since 2008 in white to go with the rally scheme at the time. The engines suffered on the 4 with crank walk and after 2 attempts of rebuilding it I went for the more reliable Evo 8 mr engine instead. Not original I know but it’s a hell of a thing now especially with the reliability. Also drives like a rally car if you really go for it.
@@thepaddockco it's quite a common mistake that people make with Evos. The Evo III dominated the 96 season with Makinen behind the wheel, the Evo IV brought in a completely different bodyshell, the engine was rotated 180 degrees for better handling & it also reduced pipework in the engine bay. AYC was a world first for the road car in GSR spec, not the RS model. You also say "Lancia" at the end of the video & not Lancer 🤭
I was all about the wrx as a kid but here in new zealand its hard to find a subaru that hasnt been molested by 20 owners who think theyre mekanikz lol (mechanic) i found a tidy evo 4 for 8k
Thank you Japan, you made the 1990s motor world truly special.
What a machine!
Hands down my favorite Evo. I will build one soon😎
Now your talking. I’m a McRae man but I’ve got a proper soft spot for an Evo. Great work again guys.
Keep doing this amazing job telling the history of cars!! A hug from Brazil!
Thank you Gustavo!

Evo 🔥
One of the greats 👑

Is it a MIVEC engine?
Thanks for the comment! No this was pre MIVEC. The 4G63T had MITEC from 2005 - 07.
@@thepaddockco Oh, thanks for the reply, I had a Colt Mivec and that engine was awesome too :) I like these 1990's cars.
Mivec only came from the Evo IX
An old model that got banned. Because it can kill all the new cars today.
They don't make them like that anymore!
96 was actually the year Tommi Makinen was driving the Evo III not the IV.
Yes you are spot on! We meant Makinen would take the Evo model to victory, not specifically the IV. You must be a big rally fan!!
