It is so satisfying to see long-term, one-owner cars. I once met a guy who bought a fabulous Mercedes W140 in 1997, and has it to this day. It's the only car he has ever owned. 425,000 km.

Yeah especially enthusiast cars. It’s one thing to have a 200,000 mile daily driver type car but it takes dedication to put that many miles on a sports car.

I've owned many cars. The Evo 9 is the one of the cars I really regret selling... Nothing like it in its price point. Considering I picked mine up in 2015 from the original owner for $14k. It was all stock too. Hurts just typing about it.

Mine was Wicked White purchased brand new from South Cal and shipped to Texas. Put 60k miles before I sold it never had an issue with it 0. I did replace the clutch when I got tuned making it full bolt on Exedy stage 2 clutch. I got back over 20k for it. I miss that car so much. I have more than enough to buy another however I am expanding my business, so I am more focused on that. I will buy another for sure within the next couple of years thinking late 2024 or early 2025 idgad if it cost 60k I'm buying another and keeping it.

It's amazing he managed to get that kind of mileage out of it even with all of the repairs he had to do.
Usually when you see an STI or an EVO near 200,000 miles they're pretty much ragged out...
I guess that's a testament to how much better something's maintained when it's owned by one person who gives a crap.

    • @lunamaria1048

Most of those "ragged out" ones are driven by children that are trying to recreate Fast And The Furious scenes., beating those poor cars to hell.... This man has class and has taken care of his ride.😊

I'm at an older guy when I've just purchased my Evo and he was getting ready to sell his and he gave me some pointers but he had 250,000 MI on his Evo 9 and the cool part was he was pushing 400 wheel for about 150,000 of those miles the thing that killed it was the turbo blue and the engine ate part of the turbo. He drove it responsibly and change the oil frequently he said he did have fun in it but wow pretty cool story.

I've got this one beat. I bought my Apex Silver Evo new March 10 2004. It also has the factory power sunroof that still works flawlessly. It now has 270,000 miles. It blew a head gasket that also cracked the block about 20,000 miles ago. I had my friends at Concord Mitsubishi in Concord CA completely rebuild the engine and go thru the entire car, replacing anything it needed. Only on it's 2nd clutch. Still a daily driver that's lived in a garage it's entire life. Had the CF wing re-cleared, but the painted is still nearly showroom condition. It has 18" forged aluminum rims and a CF front lip spoiler. Interior has the same Recaro seats, but covered in two tone leather with a CF pattern in it. All CF interior trim, but has a custom stereo system. It's had all maintenance and has run exclusively on Mitsubishi recommended Mobile 1. Never been in snow, although I now live in Prescott, AZ. Paid $28k when new and I've been offered WAY above that many times in the last year. Also had it tuned by WORKS at Sonoma Raceway and with some of their bolt on bits and the P1 reflash makes a reliable 357 hp on their Mustang Dyno. The 18 year love affair continues! I also had 2 Eclipse GSX before it, a '90 and a '97. It's NEVER leaving my hands. It's fun and a legend

It was my Daily driver up until 2012. @ 108k I had it completely built by Buschur Racing in 2013. After that, I only take it out a couple times a year. • @markstreeter9920

Had one for 12 years 2004 Evo 8. 600hp ran 11.1 @ 131mph at the track and 150mph in the 1/2 mile. Did some hill climbs and a few open road races as well. When I sold it, it had 105k miles on it and as of a few years ago was reported to still be running fine on the original engine. Went through 2 transmissions, a center diff, a rear diff and 3 clutches. 6500 rpm clutch dumps are hard on the car. Additionally had to get the block decked and replace the head gasket due to overheating on a hill climb running over 30psi. Dialed it back to 27ish after that to keep temps in check. Fun cars if you like tinkering. If I kept it stock and didn't race the crap out of it, I'm sure it would have been even more reliable. That stock engine took some serious abuse at almost double the stock hp.

My only experience with Mitsu was a 02' Diamonte and man that car was really damn nice. Only lasted 1.5 years and a few thousand miles before the tranny just quit. The previous owner did some engine work on it and suspect it wasn't well taken care of because in New Zealand they are everywhere. Sadly EVOs are almost unattainable now unless you want to pay through the nose for one with the miles this has. Might be the best looking 4-door car there is. Sitting on a 01' Celica GT-S and an 88' Supra currently.

In Canada we didn’t have the Evo for a long time. Some Evo 7’s had made it through before the government had got them(I think it didn’t meet bumper regulations at the time) so they got registered and daily driven. I had a 2003 Lancer Oz Rally Edition. If you seen 2 Fast 2 Furious. My Lancer looked like(the Evo) that but was bright yellow and the graphics were black. The first owner before me really loved F&F Series I think. It’s been one of the biggest regrets of all the cars I’ve owned. With the bumpers, graphics, it was really hard to keep it pristine in a Canadian winter. Hard to believe it would have been 20 years next year if I would have kept it. It was the only car show I did for a Mitsubishi Dealership at the time. It was one of the greatest experiences in my adult life. Thanks for showing us.

There's three screws that hold the sun roof motor in place, two of them backed out while the center one remained in. The screws backing out is a fairly common issue on these.

I'd like to see how much rust is on the bottom of it. I'm not sure if rust is an issue in colorado.

Mitsu just needs an heritage program like Nissan I don’t think they should come out with anymore they may fuck it up. Just make parts again for evo’s and 3000GT VR4.
