The "Outdoor" camera can be used standalone as a sort-of dashcam already. With a black silicone jacket it could work pretty well

That’s cool, but how do I use y Wyze Cam Outdoor now that the base station got wet when a tree went through the roof of the pump house for my pool where it was plugged in? That’s the real question.

Pull the sleeve back entirely first - then plug the USB connector in and finally slide the sleeve back over. It's tricky to align the connector inside the sleeve and risks damage

damn - whoever does the voice over for that video..give that man some more $$, i actually feel the need to buy this product (and damn the wife's yelling about incessant spending!) because it's such a PITA climbing up on a ladder every 3 or weeks to pull the cams down and recharge them.

Any plans for a solar panel with a built-in battery? (If not, please add it to your TO DO list.) This would allow us to use other cameras over night.
We have charged the panel because it payed face up in the sun for weeks before we set the wyze Battery Pro Camera up. The camera works great as long as it is plugged into the wall. 9 charging going on when we connect it to the solar panel.
Hi, the solar panel works on wyze Cam v3 to?
Obviously, charging of the Outdoor Cam is dependent on the amount of sun received (hint - Seattle in winter is NOT really the place to expect a suntan or sunburn). The webpage for the Wyze Solar Panel states under Features - "Extend the length of time you can keep your Wyze Cam Outdoor recording without having to bring it back inside to recharge.". So, given a "normal" spring or summer day where you might get 6-8 hours of good sunlight, will this keep the camera charged, or will you still need to bring it in every few days to charge it up? IS there a firmware upgrade that needs to be performed to the Outdoor Cam so it doesn't give battery warning messages?
Even without a solar panel, my cameras stay charged 6-8 weeks minimum. Check your settings.

I did it!! I'm a NASA Engineer. And here I allowed my professor to convince me I'd amount to nothing.
Now all Wyze needs to do is make a Wyze Outdoor V2 with a card slot for continuous recording and no need for a power bank due to the battery being inside the camera 👍

No it wouldn't. It doesn't have a battery, and neither does the v3. The Outdoor cam has a battery, so this panel charges that battery so you don't ever have to recharge the outdoor cam manually.
I wish it would work for the V3 I have five of them they are great cameras I tried the outdoor one it is nowhere near the performance of the V3 what a shame because I really want a battery camera and I don't want to switch to a different company I guess I just have to wait till they improve the battery outdoor camera.

So I have a question. so a man buys 8 wyze cams and he doesn't want to pay the monthly fee so said man installs a sd card but said man can only record 12 second clips to look at on phone. Said man owns the cam so why can he only record 12 seconds of video? He bought and owns the cam he bought and owns the sd card he bought and owns the phone he is watching on? I think said man will trash his wyze and buy a real system with a DVR.
Not true. I have sd card installed. You can watch continuously recorded videos (for more than 2 days long with 32gb sad card) by swiping. It will record even offline.
@@mthwin04 Now how long have you had you cams ? For the free grace period you can watch longer clips. None of my 8 will and all have cards now if I was to remove the card and use a card reader maybe. None of mine have worked same since the couple updates ago. Its always something either rebooting a camera or removing or reinstalling the card. Now I also have 3 blinks and they have their own issues they plainly say no pay no watch unless remove and use pc or reader.

@@estusflask982 How about 500 MBPS? is that enough? both upload and Download is 500 MBPS and the outdoor Wyzecam still gives you a delayed response. by the time you receive the warning, it is too late.
Loose the stupid stuff.... Extend the footage of the cord..... make it in another color, so it will not be seen so easily outdoors.
