- Performance poet Mufasa presents an original piece 'My Boys are Dying', in which he describes the plight of young Africans in a land of limited opportunities and the role they have in creating change. Mufasa is a renowned Kenyan performance poet who uses spoken word art to tell stories and to humanize situations. Passionate about human dignity and justice, he uses concept events to discuss and showcase works that are meant to ignite conversations and instigate social consciousness. Mufasa also serves as a judge and workshops facilitator at Poetry Slam Africa, a competition that aims to recognize poets and spoken word artists discussing a range of current issues affecting Africa and the world at large. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
